I don't think of Neil Diamond as a performer in the 60's here in the UK! He didn't have his first chart hit here till March 1971 with "Sweet Caroline" I knew he wrote songs that were 60's hits though!

I was 7. In some ways I wish I was born in 1949, because the best US economy was 1967, other than Vietnam killing many not going to college or faking bone spurs like Trump the coward and liar or like Bush Jr. getting to join the National Guard to stay in Texas, back then. Maybe eventually we will stop having stupid wars to make the rich richer and kill the poorer. I am hoping for a big improvement in future music, when artists get more used to all of the new technology and there are more new groups like Billy Strings that give a damn.

I was 6, and we had 3 black and white TV channels, so we listened to the radio a lot more back then, especially when at our grandparents house. Usually at night, we were outside all day unless it was raining.

For me the mid sixties were the best, but 1967 is tops. So many great songs.

I was 15 - what an era to grow up in: the Doors, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, The Hollies, Moody Blues, Beatles, The Who, The Monkees, Rolling Stones: Flower Power: Procul Harum , CCR, Canned Heat, Santana - memories of mini skirts, hot pants: loved that time!

Why is it always forgotten that LIEUTENANT PIGEON toppen the English Charts for four weeks in September & October 1972 with "Mouldy Old Dough" !!!

I can remember a lot of things from 1967, and there was a lot of fear-the war, rioting, unwanted heat waves, but I realized 1967 was still a personal favorite of a year...aside from puberty...and an unwanted neurological disorder that doctors milked my parents over, but never identified. But the music had a nice mix of various style. So, I think it was a highlight for rock and Roll. And, yes, I might be the last guy who adored "bubble gum music". it was good to see at least 2-3 Neil Diamond songs, 2-3 Monkees songs, and even Lulu singing a couple, including 1 of Neil Diamond's. The Rascals always had cool songs...and, of course the various titans of the era also had their share of hits. AND, 1967 had "the Impossible Dream", the Packers nearing the end of their heydays under Vince Lombardi, "E-ticket rides" at Disneyland/Walt Disney, Knott's berry farms before their 'Magic Mtn.' expansion-like riding the Stagecoach and eating Boysenberry pie, Indian Guides (including my reluctant-as a father-dad), and the best teacher of my life the best teacher of my life (1967-'68). Yet, knowing what lay ahead would probably send me back to present day. Remembering assassinations, more heat waves and unbreathable air and a disorder that left me wishing for death...desiring women I'd never be able to go out with and being stuffed full of drugs that my family hatted hippies for taking...being unconscious by 5 o'clock-meaning homework had to be done at school. Ok, forget it. Allow me to let the music deliver the fond memories and just forget the rest. Note: i would later write a few songs of my own that helped me recapture-for a moment-the good memories. Everyone has them inside of them. I was able to produce mine and get a moments satisfaction. Note: I truly do respect those folks who were able to create such wonderful entertainment...it's harder than it looks!

The Beatles, of course. The Temptations and the Four Tops definitely. So many more the red baron was really cute. Of course Marvin Gaye definitely Sonny & Cher. I’m gonna have to keep editing this until we get through them all.
