    I agree with your message but as my wife constantly reminds me, the message is important but the delivery is more important. People already know that they should not eat they way they do. They still do it. How can people effectively get past it? I have lost 100 lbs in my own strength and discipline but did not continue in that success because I was doing it in my own willpower. I did not kill the root cause of why I am desiring food 24/7. Apostle Paul wrote about wanting to do what he knows he should not be doing. We need to be awakened to the roots that cause our problems. We need to do our part and repent but we also need God and the Word to quicken us and awaken us to the roots and how to break those roots.

    As a little girl, (born and raised in the Eastern Orthodox church in the Middle East), I would walk around my cousin's house in awe of his icons (he had a degree in Iconography). There's this one particular icon of Jesus I remember staring at, and it was like staring straight into the eyes of Jesus. And another sobering one of Him on the cross. And I know they inspired a deep wonder and love in my heart towards Jesus. As a born again Evangelical, I still appreciate icons. They are wonderful depictions of different Biblical images, and I think if the person drawing them has a true relationship with God, they will pour so much into it. I might not agree with every single thing Father Turbo said, but I respect his presentation of icons. I think God is an artist, and since He made us in His image, He has given us talents, and art is one of them. Icons are a beautiful work of art, as long as one doesn't idolize them. The example of the picture of a loved one is a very good one👍.

    At 2-09, she nails the solution. Guys are their own worst enemy, and we see that throughout scripture. Yes, women have an inherent nature like Rachel talks about, but we often forget that men also have an inherent nature. We love to talk about how guys are so rational and logical. We brag about how we can compartmentalize in our minds. Sounds all great, and it's true, but there's the other side that we don't talk about because it's no a show of strength. That side is the "Curse of Adam". Think about how she described Adam when she says he "kinda simped". There was no "kinda" about it. He was literally the first simp. Even if you think the bible is just fiction, that idea still stands because it shows us that this nature of man was very much understood by whoever wrote that bible 2000 years ago. The behavioral trait of men was understood and the story is a cautionary tale, letting men know to always be watchful of it. According to the story of the Garden of Eden, Adam's sin wasn't eating the apple, but not rebuking Eve and punishing her or casting her out. Like Eve, Adam knew the rules and who set down the rules. His sin was going against his father, breaking the rules.... because he wanted to see Eve smile. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but he gave in. Today, men still do that. The whole Suffragette movement was only possible, as Rachel has pointed out many times, because men caved in. Men made it happen. Men are competitive by nature, but that's also to our detriment if we aren't guiding that nature to an end that's positive for the nation as a whole, not just the individual. Part of this is the Fraternal Orders that were once popular, but even those can't hold against the onslaught if men don't recognize that standards are there for a reason, and the devil never stops trying to break down those standards. In Russia, there's an old proverb - "Men are the stone wall behind which the garden flourishes." Each man in the village is a stone in the wall. The individual stones are bound together with a mortar made of tradition, law, ethic, and morals. The wall might see impregnable, but it needs constant maintenance. There are no days off, and there is always something looking to weaken the wall. Even things you see as a blessing, like the rains that feed your crops, can bring ruin to the wall if the maintenance isn't kept up. The devil knows this. That's why he works so tirelessly to convince you to quit standing guard. He want's you to take time off and just relax for a bit. Enjoy your life. You only live once, right? There's two parts to that proverb - the men guarding the village, and the village showing appreciation to the men for standing guard. The devil's convinced the women and children that instead of guarding the village from threats outside, the men are actually "oppressing" the villagers by not letting in all the fun stuff, or not letting people out so they can explore other options and experience other wonders in the world. And, sadly, the guys gave up because there's no appreciation for the guards standing watch. As one guy quits, thinking he can simp for the babes and get laid, things are tougher for the rest of the stones in the wall. They can try to hold back the enemy, but once a wall starts to crumble.... This is why the attacks on both the Church and the Fraternal Orders happened first. When men could get together and talk things through, society functioned decently because men held men to high standards. Men have always been the anchor that kept women and children from being bashed against the rocks as the seas of life churned around them. But.... men have their weakness, and we see it plain as day if we're being honest. We attack each other in the hopes that it will garner a smile from some girl. We betray each other because we hope it'll get us laid. We do everything we can to be seen as "worthy" to women. And it's done in a devious way. Even words we use like "incel" or "alpha" are designed to destroy men. We can see this because it's exactly something that NO women will do. You will never hear of any woman ever attack another woman like that. Instead, they circle the wagons, build each other up, and help each other. Until guys their their heads on straight, expect the decline to continue. There's such a thing as being "too nice", and men have been "too nice" for too long.

    I'm going to disappoint you somewhat, fornication is adultery but that's not all fornication means, fornication is a word used to describe every forbidden sexual act in the law, it includes rape, incest, animal sex, same sex, whoredom spoken of by the prophets, maybe another which is why the word fornication is used by the original author, just to keep from having to list them all, it's unlawful sex in short, now adultery defined by the law and it's consequences which was stoning or death, that's is any man other than the woman's husband lies with her sexually, period. The only adultery a married man could commit was if he had sex with another man's wife, period. There was no excuse to take another man's wife because of all the single women he could have chosen and made her a concubine wife, no sin involved there, that pretty much sums up the law concerning forbidden sexual acts, that's not all the law says though that deals with a man's desires, it also tells man who he can see naked and who he cannot, excluding his own wife and children, any person related to him by blood or marriage was forbidden to approach them to uncover their nakedness, the reason being was to avoid incest simply because viewing one's nakedness stirs up the desire for sex, fornication has nothing to do with a single man and a single woman having sex, the laws pertaining to married persons and children still living under their fathers rule didn't apply to the woman not under her fathers rule, no doubt the origins of the age of consent however, Lev. 15:16-24 deals with two subjects, a single man masturbating and a single man lying with a single woman sexually, it's apparent she's not married nor a child still under her fathers rule or authority because if any man were to lie with her sexually other than her husband, they would both be stoned and if it was a child still under her fathers rule, that man must surely betroth her to himself or pay a fine, the father could reject him, anyway Lev15:24 say's: If ANY man lie with her and her flowers=blood gets on him, he is to wash in water and be clean after 7 days, as far as the masturbation part goes, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how the semen got out of his body in the first place unless your one of those people that hate their bodies, anyway, he was to wash in water and be clean after a set amount of time, much less time than if a woman's blood got on him, it's a cleanliness law, that's all, it's no different from any other cleanliness law they had for any substance leaving a man's body, it was to prevent others from coming into contact with germs, bacteria or viruses that are easily spread through contact of flesh or other things, common sense tells most people these things today, no sin involved, any scripture in the new testament speaking about fornication is referencing the old testament laws concerning forbidden sexual acts, they were not going around making up any new laws but teaching others what they didn't know was written in their law, the only real way to tell who you can have sex with or see naked is by reading who you can't have sex with or see naked, if the law listed what was not forbidden, the book would be so big no one could carry it, a shorter version of it would be any person your not married to or in a relationship with that does not have a mutual desire for you however the prostitute and the whore you can't omit, the prophets spoke out against her and her whoredom had to do with having many lovers, had she only had one lover and not others there would be no sin involved which only means to stay away from any woman that's involved sexually with another man, for a reason too, she spreads STD'S and back then one could have killed you, there's judgement of unfaithfulness, no judgement on faithfulness, does that help?

    Guys, I love the job you've been doing on these podcasts, but there's soooo much misconception in this specific one. You are discounting God's plan for a person's life. Not everyone is meant to marry in their twenties, and not all women in their thirties are unmarried because they are feminists who sleep around, and just suddenly wake up. As a person who has waited and prayed for my future husband since my teens (I'm 35 now), I just never met a good match, and was kept hidden in Christ, and I know many such precious ladies at my church. And many women in their thirties are more attractive, fit, and beautiful than women in their 20s (I still get asked out by 28 year-olds who are serious). I repeat, you guys rock, but don't repeat what the culture says, God has a different timeline for each of us. Also, men aging like wine is not always true, I see men my age who look like they're in their 40s, and even 50s, it's all a matter of self-care and genetics. Keep up the good work, but don't propagate the culture, God is above and beyond it all. God bless guys.

      (Mike here) appreciate the comment sister! Thanks for tuning in! I think we are mainly talking from our own experiences, especially here in Florida what we have observed seems especially true and basically all our friends report the same. I think this episode is over 2 years old and it's only proven more of a reality since then. My question for you is if your are attractive and fit and thus likely have plenty of opportunity, what's primarily holding you back? Does no guy measure up to the standard you seek?

    • @AllyMian
      @AllyMian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@irondisciplespodcast Thank you for the question Mike (the one question I get asked for over a decade now). I respect your guys' experiences. Jordan Peterson is right when he says women tend to marry up, because women naturally respect men they look up to. I was born and raised in a country where I didn't have many Godly options. I served and sought the Lord throughout all those years, and I never met any guy who was Godly and met my standards (and I promise they're not impossible God first, attraction second, and mutual interests). I only recently moved to Florida (Sarasota), and started checking online dating, and I mean that's something else. Most men who claim they love God are shallow Christians. And the 27-30 range that pursues me I refuse to even consider even if they are attractive and Love God, because age is not just a number, age is maturity, depth, and wisdom (I legit had to argue this point with one of them). The 31-42 year old range that I match with are men who have just come to the Lord and they've gone through all the motions of a sinful life and want a good Christian woman now, I know it's irrational to want a guy who has saved himself like I have (it's like askin for a unicorn), but most men in that age range are either divorced (Biblically marrying a divorced person is comitting adultery) or just shallow conservative nominal Christians, or are just unattractive. There you go. I don't know why God keeps some of us hidden, but I know many cases like mine, so we exist, hidden in churches, being faithful to our callings 🤷‍♀️, and it's hard to hear guys just put us in that same feminist box that we don't belong in. And I'm not bitter, on the contrary, He knows the plans He has for us. Again I say, you guys rock, keep it up, this was the only topic that really hit close to home. God bless you guys. 😊

    • @irondisciplespodcast
      @irondisciplespodcast 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My question to you is where in the Bible are you getting this concept of God keeping you hidden? And then my challenge to you I think you will have to compromise a bit. I know a few other girls in similar situations and they do come across men of the moral values they want but they are often not attracted to them. In their case it seems like they want this man that doesn't exist. A man that understands women and knows how to be attractive to them while at the same time near Jesus level morals. Meanwhile the Bible is full of fallen men that God uses. Men don't get the maturity depth, and wisdom you want without going through some junk and probably having some baggage. With that I'm not saying go pick some lukewarm guy but I am saying finding a 40 year old guy without some baggage is quite the unicorn and if you did find him I almost guarantee you wouldn't be attracted.

    • @AllyMian
      @AllyMian 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@irondisciplespodcast oh it's not necessarily a Biblical concept, just one that He has spoken to my heart throughout the years of me asking Him about this specific topic, also in the sense that He has protected me in many situations from bad decisions in this area. The term Hidden in Christ is from Colossians 3:3, and it's used in a different context, but it speaks to my heart in a further sense, and it's personal. The way I had used it above though is not in this specific Biblical context. It was mostly how it felt like throughout the years though. True, about the second part, as I also agree and mentioned above that it's close to irrational to seek a person around my age who has also walked in moral integrity, but at least after coming to Christ he has to be transformed (like when Jesus said to go and sin no more), and that baggage needs to be lifted up to Christ, and most men in the 30s age group (I wouldn't consider 40s unless they really are aging like wine 😅) who claim they are saved still walk in their old ways. Anyway, I agree with the second paragraph, thank you for the sound advice, and keep on discipling and shining His light in this depraved culture.

    There was no feminism! It was a different world back then where virgin women would be offered to a local village young man to produce offspring to better their communities. Now, we have entitled feminists who have high body counts but demands the same amount of traditions like in ancient times. Ludicrous that these type of women are our options to marry.
