Ride to Lion's Road from Brisbane
Rode the Yamaha FJR1300 from Brisbane to Lion's road and back. The original plan was to continue to Kyogle and head back via Numinbah. But, I had to head back due to to a couple of reasons, one of which was the detour via dirt road due to a bridge closure (for construction) over Grady's Creek.
It is an extremely scenic ride. As usual I left before dawn to capture the beautiful sunrise over the countryside.

This is a route I typically take when I have very limited time to ride on a weekend. It is a local loop around Mount Cotton, with a few winding roads. A great way to unwind on a Sunday with an added benefit of keeping the motorcycle batteries charged. At least that is what I tell my wife :-)

I've always liked the FJR. Great bike mate. Enjoyed the video very much! Keep posting! Subscribed 🙂
Looks like another fun ride. I went down that way with a mate a few months back, but not sure exactly where in relation to your ride because I was just following him. I might have to take a ride down the route you took. As an aside, the other guys on your group ride looked like they were (mostly) pretty sensible, but I tend to avoid group rides because you never know what you're going to get!
The Mount Lindsay twisties are my favourite ride.
Yes! I am lucky to live only an hour away so I can revisit more often.
Looked like a nice ride (dirt road excepted!). I haven't been that way, but have enjoyed a couple of rides down Mt Lindesay Hwy & back out to the coast via Dairy Flat & Kyogle. Parts of Mt Lindesay Hwy are pretty bad, but probably no worse than some of the roads you were on. Did a ride down there in November last year with my wife on her MT-03 (I was on my Speed Triple 1200 RS) & what started out as a 4 hour ride to Woodenbong & back ended up being 6.5 hours coming back via Murwillumbah with an emergency fuel stop in Chinderah with the Triumph telling me I had 8km left in the tank! I also enjoy the run out to the roundabout at Tamborine (at the Bearded Dragon) & back for a quick(ish) ride. I'll generally go out one way & back another (I live Redlands area).
Hi neighbor! I also call the Redlands home. I'm a big fan of those scenic rides around Beaudesert, Boonah, Rathdowney, Tamborine, Beechmont etc. The views, especially during the golden hours, are simply breathtaking. When I have a free day, I love taking a loop route to experience as much of the beauty as possible.
@@EveryManAndHisDogMoto small world! One of the first decent rides I did with my wife (I taught her to ride about 3 years ago) was out to Rathdowney & then back up to Boonah via Rathdowney Boonah Rd. Can't say I was a big fan of that road - very narrow in places with sand/dirt coming on to both sides of the road for the first while. Once we got through that it was pretty good though.
Very nice !
