Grief Gives
In May of 2018, I felt some deep, deep grief within myself. I got curious about it and turned to my family for wisdom and insight.
This documentary is a collection of their stories, experiences, and perspectives on grief: what it is, why we grieve, how it shapes us, and what it can offer us if we choose to embrace it.
This is the first documentary I have created as a filmmaker. The process was emotionally and physically challenging, but rewarding in a way I can't quite put into words. This project flirted with mortality. It was fragile, vulnerable. And I think that is why it was so special for me. These are stories that would otherwise go unheard.
I have found a passion for amplifying stories that aren’t often told or will soon be forgotten. I believe this work is deeply important and if you know stories of this kind, send them my way. I would love to help give them life.

Thank you so much! I was already interested when you mentioned the month of may 2018. That was when my mom passed away. December 2017 my dad passed away. When I saw your video I realized I needed to see how others dealt with grief. It was helpful. Thank you all for your openness and sharing!
