It is quite obvious why they cut that scene, although the final scene clearly seems like something is missing.

Some shots along with the music makes it look like a 50s b movie Sci Fi Horror. Like The Thing from Another World.

Probably good the extended stuff was left out here. makes the alien seem slow and a little clumsy. And that beginning part walking on it's hands and feet was odd.

Nope. Too much of alien shown. It's better for us to not have a good look at it so all we can say is "It was fucking huge" just like Parker did.

Well, we all understand here, that there was not Queen intended at the time at all, and this was their original means of reproduction. Thus, all those eggs in the Derelict were basically living beings originally.

I kinda liked the crab walk. It was so awkward and out of nowhere it’s just made it creepy.

This is good to know, now I understand why Farfield had shown up to the Prometheus ship in the bug pose. The only thing I don’t understand is Engineer + Goo = human and all life. But Goo+Human = all death.

Lambert's scream got to be one of the scariest in cinema.

Lambert was such an annoying character in this movie. She got Dallas killed because she was too busy crying and couldn’t give clear directions of where the alien was coming towards Dallas. (Assuming they all know the layout of the ship, Dallas could’ve figured out the Alien was on the lower level with more help.) Also Lambert gets Parker killed by standing there crying again! It really bothered me. I would’ve lit her ass up if I was Parker.

It looks so goofy dangling there and spinning slightly

the first ten seconds are so odd, you see the xeno walking through the light and crouching, then it gets up and crouch again in another place, just like it's finding the best spot to "hide". they kept these sequence in the final montage, but for me these seconds make the xeno come a lil bit "out of character" (walking naturally as human do)... imho :)

This is interesting to see but the sitting Alien ruins it for me. Obviosly a crouching man in a suit with knees up. Awkward!

Would've loved a few more brief shots of the Alien from this sequence in the final cut. Some of these deleted shots are absolutely amazing.

Both their deaths? Are haunting. His pleas for her to move and then he dies, and then of course Lambert. I cannot imagine, Sigourney Weaver as an actress, trying to get those sounds out of her head. For me? That's something I think personally would take me a very long time to get over. Yes its make believe, yes its acting. When Sigourney is running in those corridors, hearing that (if they broadcasted it for real on the set) her heart must've been pouuunding. And that's something that I think actors/actresses don't really talk about at all. The emotional toll of movies like this. Of course, someone can please correct me.

It was the absolute right decision to shorten this scene. Because you see the Alien you will bever be able to tell anyone. And this scene would have completely taken this away from the alien

This scene always freaked me out so much, partially because I was a kid and had seen the original Hellraiser around the same time as Alien and the dangling chains and atmosphere always made me think some kind of cenobite Xenomorph was going to appear.

Parker was a hero... it broke my heart to see him try to save Lambert, sacrificing himself and telling her to get out of the room as he knew he was about to get killed.

Honestly I enjoy this cut more than the original. It feels so much more authentic even down to Lambert slipping in the blood, the crew’s absolutely stunned reaction and not knowing what to do after what they’ve just witnessed. It feels more authentic, like that’s exactly what you’d expect out of a situation like this. But I understand why is was cut from the theatrical release. The theatrical cut definitely flows more naturally with the pacing and some of the effects take you out of the scene

I don't know what to think of that ....in a way its kind of creepy..the Alien sitting there as the tanks are rolling into it then the little crab walk ..it came across to me as childlike in its behaviour as if its only an infant and still growing but the natural vicious instinct takes over but I think it was the right call to cut it
