Goat Dairy: Kidding Season 2021
มุมมอง 8083 ปีที่แล้ว
Go behind the scenes of a small farmstead goat dairy and see just where your food starts as they kid out their goats at the start of their fifth season. Notes: This is the last year we bred with a boer goat to diversify our herd for not just milk, but also meat. As you can see, we pulled a lot of babies. I can only assume it's because the kid genetics were too big for our dairy girls. As we go ...
Follow The Leader: Maizey's First Pony
มุมมอง 1513 ปีที่แล้ว
Big day for the A-Maizeing Maizey! First pony off the farm! As you can see, she's still not eager to get that halter on. We're also working on lots of human contact. Although her hooves are beautiful right now, she's never had them trimmed so we want to start preparing her for that step. She also needs to be able to wear the hobbles that we place on front feet when they graze in the backcountry...
Welcome Home: Maizey's Final Herd Intro
มุมมอง 1023 ปีที่แล้ว
19 Days after coming onto this farm, we introduced Maizey to her new herd in Paddock Paradise. Paddock Paradise is a 2 Acre pasture with a track system, a pretty great hill, and a nice cozy forest. As you watch this video, keep in mind, we aren't professionals. This herd of horses is our first herd and neither one of us grew up working with equine dynamics. This isn't a how-to video It's a snap...

When he's not working as an actor, producer, or filmmaker, you can find James Clark milking goats in the evenings at Lost Peacock Creamery. It's hot right now, and the goats are in full blown sassy mode lucky for them James has a great deal of patience for all their nonsense. We should all be so lucky.

    I've experienced choke in my horses while using beet pulp as well. I switched to a brand that the shreds were very small and waiting an hour to feed after eating roughage/ forage . As to not clog in with it

    This is incredibly wild, I am from the Methow Valley now living in olympia. My Uncle Roscoe Smith was a part of Luc and the Lovingtons before he tragically passed away. Luc and the lovingtons has always played a huge part of my life. Another twist, I just discovered Lost Peacock Creamery because I am your mail lady! Isn't that a weird twist in fabric and space. You have an impressive gamut of skills. Not only do you do all this goat dairy farm stuff and outdoorsy stuff... you have all of these technical skills subtly on display: a website, a TH-cam channel, an edited tv-series quality show, and I even noticed the camera time lapse of the night sky. So many talents displayed, I almost feel bad for leaving so many out. It's all very impressive.

    I shared this video with a few people because I found it to be just so wholesome. And I found your company from buying some halloumi cheese from metropolitan market over in Kirkland. 💜 I have to tell you it's better than any other Halumi cheese I've tried. I Have a bite before bed since it's lower and saturated fat and salt and calories than most cheeses and it really helps me sleep throughout the night.

    Hey guys, love your videos and am an avid follower of lost peacock creamery on insta, and also a horse person, so wondering why at 12:18 your horse is walking like it is? Is that a thing of the Walkers?

    • @LostPeacockCreamery
      @LostPeacockCreamery 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for your question! He’s hobbled, using our Canadian Ice Breaker hobbles (which you will often see them wearing around their necks). It’s a requirement that horses be hobbled in the backcountry and we like these the best because they don’t rub or burn their fur. Woody is also part Muppet so his movements always seem a bit more exaggerated :)
