I am In my 60s now and Just bought my First Electric kit. Really excited to play again. I had played in a band for about 15 years back in my late teens and early 20s. I had to sell my acoustic set years ago but even if I didn't there is no way I could play them here with the neighbours so close. Looking forward to actually learning the things I never did back then. I think I was solid drummer but not very advanced. I just never practiced much.

Hi there, Keith! Thank you for commenting and supporting my "newer channel" I'm blown away with electronic kits as they've come so far. You'll get a lot of different thoughts about online lessons or in person. I've had success with both in regards to being a learner and a teacher. If anything, I would suggest making sure that you can try it out to see if you're comfortable and if you have a laptop with a WebCam That would be set up in a way where the teacher could hear you but also see. In person's great, as long as it fits in your schedule in regards to driving and other logistics. The student has to show interest and effort, and I've seen student succeed online as well as in person. Message dictated

I appreciate your video! I’ll be 66 in a coupe of months and started playing just a few years ago - something I’ve always wanted to do and now with the advances in e-kits (I have a Roland e-kit) it was quite irresistible. Our church worship band drummer (also an older guy) keeps wanting me to play but so far I don’t feel that I am ready. I just today contacted a drummer friend that gives lessons so maybe sometime in the future I’ll feel I’m ready. Would love to play with other musicians to see how that all works out. My goal in 2025 is to take some lessons and see where it all leads!

So now, at 64, I am a very novice drummer on a steep learning curve. I am a life long learner and really enjoy this chance to get way out of my comfort zone and stretch myself. Hi, great exercise. I wish I found you last year when I was just starting music reading at the age 50's😂. Thank you very much. Could you do some of the other more complicated ones like eights and sixteenth combo? Many thanks .

No worries, what is great about music you can learn at any stage in your life. On my other channel I just spoke about this. Feel free to watch if you like :-). th-cam.com/video/qrJYYfHAZHQ/w-d-xo.html

I play guitar trying to expand my drum chops but I’m starting at the very beginning. Little videos like these are perfect exercises to get going, for me.

@@SpaceKadetMegaStar I really love the feedback. It helps me out tremendously. Sometimes in TH-cam land people watch and just take, but it doesn't help the creators to know what people are looking for if that makes sense?

@@SpaceKadetMegaStar thank you again and question did you check out the videos on stick grip? It's not the most enjoyable practice session, but it will go along way. By the way, am my guitar playing is quite comical :-) But it's good for my ears
