My goal with this channel is to remind myself that no matter what I can always bounce back and become better then I was before. All it takes is some risks! I will set goals, share my dreams, and figure out how to accomplish them. Id love to show the world that anything is possible with the right mindset and commitment. I dream of inspiring others to follow by example and grow to be your fullest self. Everybody's road is different but this, this is my Journey.
From Side Hustle To Full-fledged Business: Exciting Update!
Today on my Journey we unveil where I've been and what I've been working on. For the longest time, we have bought individual items from auction houses and from Facebook marketplace, but those days are no more. We are taking this side hustle to the next level and plan to show YOU how to buy truckloads of furniture at a time. This will allow us to scale our side hustle into a full fledged business and begin generating some serious profit.

I Started Flipping Furniture, This Is How It’s Going (Ep. 1)
Anyone else catch the miss-matched screw head types?
Why you didn't weld metal sides like I did
How does it look now? i feel like you should have treated it with paint or something.
anymore uploads?
Slowly working on the next video. Got a lot going on so haven’t had to much time to edit. But they are coming lol
That’s smart getting out of the junk removal business to focus only on the couches. Glad to see you bought a dual axle trailer. That’s really what you need. They’re much safer to tow because you’ve got 2 sets of tires. I blew a tire on my old one and the other axle was able to carry the load till I could pull over and check it out. Right now I have a small single axle but looking to upgrade to a larger trailer.
Definitely upgrade if you plan on doing junk removal. Learn from my mistakes haha
Great video!! I’m getting ready to start a junk removal business and I’m definitely overthinking building the sides on my trailer. Thanks for the encouragement
Why you didn't screw into the metal of the trailer instead of running a board under the trailer
How much extra weight did this add?
BICK
Mad respect
How long of a time period does each episode cover
Usually over the course of a month, sometimes a week or two
Another day another dollar
Your thumb nails are great
Thanks!
You’re doing hard work. I hear the first year on TH-cam is the hardest. I find these videos very entertaining
I appreciate that!
There are ways to straighten boards so they fit together a bit better.
Nice job man. Did a similar job on my utility trailer getting it ready for my junk removal business. Been working it hard for the last 6 months and now saving up to add a dump trailer
Dope man!
Always make sure to treat the ends of cut treated wood as that cut end is no longer treated. Especially if there are splits as well.
I’m glad ur back . I’ve been watching u since day one selling dressers . Would u say b stock is bigger profits than selling used couches v
Depends on how you’d look at it. In my case there’s not a lot of people listing cheap couches so it can be hard collecting any kind of inventory. But with Bstock you can fill up in one day. But it’s a gamble because you don’t know what shape some of them are in compared to just going and looking at a used one. Some are ready to list the second you unpack them, some need the normal amount a used one would need, and some can be to destroyed that you’d be lucky to turn it around. There’s also the fact that you have to pay taxes which can drastically affect your margins. I’d be happy to talk in more detail about the pros and cons in a future video. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to throw them in there and answer what I can
Also thanks for being a real one 👊
I just recently discovered your content man and love your videos and hustle! I'm 19 myself and I flipping couches as well! I find your videos inspiring and for me to keep going with my business!
Keep going man! May be daunting at first but as long as you adopt good discipline you’ll go far! And thanks glad you enjoy the content 😁
Just discovered your content man, love seeing the hustle! I'm 19 and I couch flip myself. Love seeing other young people flipping
You should know the income & outgoings of the business. I think it would be cool if you showed thag
Keep grinding bro!
What's the truck bed size?
6ft
@@Jakobs_Journey is it legal to drive with tailgate open and having couch on it?
It’s not illegal no
It was just my first time loading a couch. Didn’t load it up well
Hey Jakob! So nice to see you back! I'm happy to hear you are taking care of yourself, youtube and all of us always comes second. I've been following your journey and I've watched most of your videos by now, what an inspiration you are! Well done taking that leap of faith and even more happy it seems to have paid of. I'm so happy for you. I know you have a lot going on but I'd love to hear all the incomes and expenses you've had. Not a lot of flippers on youtube do that. Love from Sweden!
Thank you for following the journey! I’ll try and go back and see what type of of profits and sales I’ve made since
Shout out Caleb! 🤟🏽🤟🏽
Love to see the journey! Don’t stop recording
Thanks, I’ll try my best to keep up to date this time haha
@@Jakobs_Journey I respect it and understand. Love to see where you started and that monthly rent steal compare to what I’m paying for my 10x20 lol
What are you paying for a 10x20?
$270 🫡🤧😁
Jeezzzz
Love it! I'll be here for the journey man! Keep it up
Thanks!
Very uplifting video. I once heard the difference between an average golfer and a professional is this. Everyone hits a ball into the sand trap once in a while. The average guy gets frustrated and takes a few shots to get out. The pro golfer puts the bad shot behind him mentally, and his next shot is on the green.
Love that quote! Glad you enjoyed the video 😁
God bless you Jakob, and thank you for sharing your Journey. I have no doubt that you’ll be successful in your ventures 👏🏻
Thanks! 😁
I think the way you handled the loss at one of the worst possible moments says alot about your future success. Entrepeneurship is not for the faint of heart. Last year I took a big risk, bought a truck and some equipment and started a powerwashing business. 2 months in someone rear ended and totalled my truck and the insurance process was 3 months and the winter was around the corner. Basically killed the business for that year since power washing is seasonal. Still not sure how to brush that one off.
Appreciate that. Was definitely a hard battle but we came back stronger and better then before
$285 for your storage rent is absolutely insane. I’ve never even heard anything like that I’m in Southern California and get anything near what you have is at least $1600 at the bare minimum
I know got a steal on this place! And really that’s insane. Couldn’t imagine paying that much for what I have
That should be 1-2 hours worth of work if you have half a clue and decent tools.
I may have over exaggerated. Also I'm no pro haha. But thanks for watching!
Absolutely appreciate the go for it attitude I've been a carpenter for 30+ years I am capable and have experience in framing a house but have been thinking about building walls on utility trailer just a little hesitant why idk I know I can do it it's just needed that push and your video helped a lot thank you!
Glad I could help! Hopefully yours turns out better then mine haha
How much do you think someone would charge me to build walls on my 6 by 12’ utility trailer?
I've been waiting to see your next upload since it's been a while. I'm sure you're just busy but I just hope you're doing well Jakob.
Really busy haha. But I got a full update video dropping within the next week or so
Just curious as to why youre pre drilling holes for your wood screws? Awesome build!
Just to prevent wood from splitting
Interesting!
You have an awesome friend!🥰🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes I do!
So it won’t fly off ? Because I’m gonna do this now , but I might weld some so it won’t fly off
No the lag bolts go through the frame, plywood and 2x4. Securing everything down to the frame. And L brackets to add just a little more support
@@Jakobs_Journey Thank you
for the plywood did you use 1/2, 3/4, or 1 inch?
Believe it was 3/4
I know it’s a little bit on a drive from you but ales auction usually has a crap ton of furniture in his auctions.
I know where you got this series from, and KEEP doing them brother. I love to watch this side hustle monsters out there getting money
Been to busy to sit and edit but I’ll be back. Have so many videos stock piled but honestly might just make an update video and throw everything I’ve been doing in there haha
What platforms do you use to post and sell items?
Facebook Marketplace
I would have taken angle iron and plywood and somehow welded the angle iron to the existing trailer. Looks good however there are other ways.
Luck in your New job
great video
Thanks!
😂Interested to see what happened on the seconf job. Hopefully nothing too bad.
All ima say till the video comes out is I messed up 🤦♂️ 😂
Love watching your journey, man.
I appreciate that! Thanks 😁
@@Jakobs_JourneyThat's the problem with those trailers. They are nice, but they should have made higher sides on them. At least 4 feet high, my father and myself out of metal and plywood took a Harbor freight trailer, and made some very durable sides over 36 years ago and they're still holding up, I wish I could show them to you, however I don't have a video. I'm just making a comment. But I have never seen sides, the way we made them, anywhere, on any video.
keep up the work broski
i’m 17 & just got into this with my brother , the only thing we’ve had a stump in is selling them ! how can i increase my sells !
Depends on what you are getting, what shape it’s in. But overall it’s all about learning your market. What people in your area want to buy and for how much. Takes some time to figure out but I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it after a while
One option is slowly lowering your prices over time
Make sure your pictures look professional and have professional looking backgrounds. I haven't gotten into flipping yet but from what I am seeing between the people being successful vs not so successful it's just presentation. Couches have a larger profit potential and as long as you clean it up a little and disinfect it with professional pictures and free delivery you can make solid money.
I am learning so much from watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing source of information. This one is quite helpful.
Glad I’m able to help! Are you getting into reselling and flipping?
