I understand where you're coming from; shows like this, including Dr Phil, are mostly meant to entertain and what better way to bring views than drama and shame-based narratives. It draws people who love to judge and point fingers so they can feel superior, unfortunately. People online can be awfully mean, and being vulnerable by showing your family's problems and weaknesses just sets a person up to be a target. I wish people could be more compassionate and understanding but that's just not the world we live in.

Jo Frost DID NOT BERATE those kids, and I’m not being ugly, but Meghan was a really nasty little girl. The way she physically hurt people, she deliberately scratched the blood out of Jo, she screamed obscenities, and spoke to her parents in ways that were so horrible I’d be ASHAMED if I were the parents. This kind of behavior is ultimately the fault of the parents for not doing something sooner, but when an ELEVEN YEAR OLD acts this way, it really is disturbing. But one thing is FOR DARN SURE….IT WAS NOT JO FROST FAULT. And she did NOT berate, or humiliate ANY child. She wanted to help the kids, and did help a LOT of families.

I call likely BS. I started in my profession in 1977. Men were more confident back then, but were much more respectful around women, in general. They were usually respectful with their language around women and children, unlike today. I never had a single male, if I turned down an offer for a date, be aggressive, or belligerent. The majority of people in education were female in the 60's and first half of the 70's.
