Objectives
euroFOT establishes a comprehensive, technical, and socio/economic assessment programme for evaluating the impact of intelligent vehicle systems on safety, the environment, driver efficiency. The project assesses several technically mature systems using vehicles that include both passenger cars and trucks across Europe.
A variety of intelligent vehicle systems (IVS) are being tested on a large scale in real driving conditions. About 1000 IVS-equipped vehicles will be driven over the course of one year, tested on roads across Europe.
The objectives of the testing are to:
Assess various aspects of in-vehicle systems, such as their capabilities and performance, and the driver's behaviour and interactions with those systems
Gain a better understanding of the short- and long-term socio-economic impact of such systems on safety, efficiency and driver comfort
Provide early publicity of the systems to the consumer and create wider acceptance of them

Blind Spot Information System

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) uses small cameras in each side mirror to detect when a car or motorcycle has entered the driver's blind spot. A warning light then indicates that another vehicle is in that position. The system is able to recognise and ignore the car's own shadow, and also works at night.

I think that the showed system is not a Forward Collision Warning but an Autonomous Emergency Braking system, which not only warns the driver but even brakes the car when neccessary.
The problem with this tech is that if someone is behind you and doesnt have this technology when your car brakes for you, they will rear end you because they won't be expecting the sudden halt. And people who have this tech will be thinking "I'm good" don't need to brake it will brake for me, and use it as a crutch.
