We ran into this school of Permit (Trachinotus falcatus) as we drifted off the wall. Permits are in the jack family and can be found foraging in the shallows or in larger schools like this, in areas of stronger current. Dive site: Texas, Roatan, Honduras.

The Orangespotted Goby (Nes Longus) and the Sand Snapping Shrimp (Alpheus floridanus) live together in a small burrow. The goby stands guard while the shrimp cleans house and prevents cave-ins. He always tries to keep at least one antenna on his buddy while he pushes the sand out.

Diving today, one followed us and circled us for more than 10 minutes. It kept trying to dock on my dive buddy and me. I got to check and upload my video. At one point, I gave up after I had 7 minutes of it but made a few more clips.
i want to be reincarnated in this.
:)
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video.....
this video does not have enough likes, such a beautiful moment and incredible shot
Caught the photobomb-was wondering what wandered on by.
Wow, it was cruising! There is so much wild macro life if you slow down and look.
Never seen one like that! But, I do have a video of a sharptail eel retracting into its hole.
Looks like a 'throuple' in the works.
I've yet to see a batfish. I really want to get some video of them.
YOU were swimming, it was FLYING! I love these, they are one of my top target species I look for while diving. I have videos of them in Bonaire on my channel and even one looking for food that I saw from the sidewalk while I was on my bike in Key West.
Excellent! I have to get over to Roatan and dive.
Surreal.
Awesome octopus
These are great shots. How did you get so up close?
Wow! Small stuff. Great capture.

The way it keeps contact through the antenna is just so cool!!
Funky dancer!
I caught one of these once. It's head looks the the soul of a shoe. We wondered what it had been sucking onto. Perhaps we missed something really big.
SubhanAllah.... It's like Flying in the ocean.!!!!

Swan with one this afternoon in Puerto Morelos - was quite curious, circling me once
Just saw one yesterday, came out of nowhere and circled me ~ 5 times. Never in my life have I seen a creature that was so obviously curious, just amazing!
Question: Despite the fact that octopuses are short-lived, is it possible that they can live longer, that is, if their life can be extended? Even if they avoid mating?

The Green Sea Turtle has two remora fish attached to it. They attach with their belly up, so you can see their anal and ventral fins.
Fabulous video of a not-frequently-seen Octopus species. Thanks for sharing!
It’s so weird it looks buff like a toad and sort of humanoid
Just heard about these fish on the show Beyond The Unknown. The show recounted the story of a Bay Area town that freaked out because they heard these fish and had no idea what made the sound in the 1980s. How weird. It does sound like an A-10 Warthog jet firing its cannon.
nice ☺
Insane speed
PLEZ BE MAH WIIIIIFE!!
