Have you tried turning it off and then back on again 😂 This is one of the main reasons I switched to NixOS about 6 months ago though - an operating system with declarative configuration files and easily reproducible set ups within just a few clicks means that anytime something like this happens I can completely reformat my computer and do a clean install of everything in under an hour and be back up and running. No idea what your use case is but in the modern era running something either Linux or BSD based will easily out preform Apple/windows machines 100x when it comes to reliability and being able to quickly recover from system issues via returning to a state you know worked well.

It depends on what are you doing ... typing on a keyboard is different than being self-employed where physical work is required or your work makes loud noise. All have it's advantages and disadvantages, but throwing everything in the same basket... it's ridiculous
