Learn Korean ~는지 The Easy Way
Korean ~는지 is very simillar to the ~는 것 grammar which also makes it an important grammar to know. Even though it is very hard to explain to English speakers, I have tried to explain it in the easiest way possible.

선생님 Unrelated grammar question. My friend wants to travel to Korea and he wants to learn just the basic Hangeul. As someone who has stayed in Korea for quite sometime, is learning the basic Hangeul or just the basics just okay? Please let me know. 감사해요 : ^ )
Hi~ I know people who traveled to Korea with no Korean knowledge and still had a pretty good experience. Learning just 한글 doesn't do anything I think. I would rather learn just some useful phrases to get around without knowing the deeper meaning :) But depends on how long your friend plans to stay. Cheers

이 영상은 아주 유익하네요! "꺼져"의 주 사용처를 알려드리자면 가깝지 않은 사람에게 정색했을 때 주로 사용합니다, 나에게 상관하지 말라는 의미에서 사용되죠 드물게 친한 친구들 사이에서 웃긴 개그에 반응할 때 사용하기도 합니다

tell me 이미 vs 미리 vs 벌써 difference pls if you posted before provide me the link pls as well thank u
th-cam.com/users/shorts1qElNgi9nLY Here is the difference between 벌써 and 이미. 미리 is different from those two as it means "in advance" or "beforehand". For example: 주말에 쉴 수 있게 청소를 미리 할 거야 I will clean in advance, so I can rest on the weekend. Cheers
@@koreanwithsperyyy thank you
The way you explain is so easy, it makes me want to start studying again korean 🙃 since i quit bc i wasn't improving
I'm happy to hear that 😊You can always start just light and breezy and see how it goes.
How am I going... in the beginning, I absorbed everything, studied 2 hours a day, everyday, hot advanced beginner/beginner intermediate and just suddenly lost the will to study in any capacity D: Have you hit that wall? How did you overcome it? I started 2 years ago and feel like I should be so much further along than I am D:
Hi there, I did not have that because I went all out as you did for few months and then just took it light and breezy by chatting with Koreans, no big deal. However what I feel for several past years is that learning the "polite" "official" vocabulary is a big NO for me. To put it in example, I can have a conversation about anything for a week straight, but I would not understand even 5 minutes of news on the TV, because it is too formal 😆
I understood your explanation very well.. I'll try to put it in practice :)
Great job 👏

저는 한국말 이해할 수 있어요. 그렇지만, 펄이핀에 한국인과 거의 만나지 않고 거의 연습하지 않을 겸 대화지 않을 겸 해서 제가 한국말 개선으러 해요. 그러니까요, 이댓글에 선생님과 제가 한국말만 연습할 수 있어요. English Translation (Just in case I miss translate in Korean) I can understand Korean. However, at the Philippines I rarely meet with Koreans, rarely practice it, rarely have conversations and to improve my Korean. That's why at the comment section with teacher @koreanwithsperrry, I am able to or I can practice my Korean.

I love this video so much. Your explanations really make it easier for me to understand. Thanks for the video. I’d love it if you could explain 는지 too! I know how to use it in some cases, like 어떻게 갈지 잘모르겠어요 and 그 남자가 어떤 사람인지 궁금해요. But it looks like it’s used in a few different ways… 수고 많으셨어요!
Thank you 🙏 it is on my mind to explain 는지 but even though it is very easy to use for me, I could not quite come up with an idea how to explain it in the easiest way possible
@ yeah, teaching is a whole other skill on it’s own 🤩. I actually just started learning about 덛데 too, and I wonder how it differs from 더라 🤔. Are they both used often?
@@브랜브랜 더라 is used simply when you recall a memory, you remember the thing you are saying. 던데 is essentially the same thing but with addition of 던데, which creates the meaning of "but" or "unexpected". Person 1: 성민이 복싱하는 거 보러 갈까? Person 2: 성민이 축구하던데? Shall we go see Seong Min boxing? But (as I remember) Seong Min plays football?
@@koreanwithsperyyy Ah thanks! It’s so interesting because of the endings. A lot of them can convey similar meanings it seems like, but have different nuances… Also, do you offer private grammar/conversation classes, or are thinking about doing in the future? I have a few native teachers that I work with every week or so, but feel like it would also be a great experience doing that with someone who’s learning the language at a higher level than me.
@@브랜브랜 Yes, Korean at some point is all about nuances. I was thinking about doing more private 1:1 lessons, but sadly I have no time to do that ☹
Do you think each person learns differently with different teachers. I have been with a Korean teacher for 1 year and I feel I am not improving. Although we are going into intermediate class - I still can string a long sentences together or understand 는 것을/ 것이 usage. I don't know when I should move to another teacher or just carry on
Hi, I am certain that different students and teachers have better or worse synergies, but it is hard to say because there are a lot of factors. If you should change the teacher is unluckily up to you. Depends what you want to improve. Let's say that you want to go for more practice, then you should probably switch to someone who is going to talk with you for hours straight. But again, you should first think about what you want 😊
Is 기를 위해 is the same as 려고?
You could say they are the same but 려고 still express more the “intention” while 기를 위해 can still be used to male general statements more :) Let’s say 려고 is more intense with the meaning
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Youre welcome :)

Wow, I just came across your channel. I’ve been learning Korean for a few months too, and hearing someone else’s story is so inspirational. Thanks so much for sharing! I started with a podcast (Talk To Me In Korean) and a language learning app (LingoDeer). After I finished the app’s beginner course, I started to taking private lessons with a native teacher. I recently started playing videogames and trying to read easier books in Korean. I’m having so much fun. It’s been about four years and I’m still having so much fun learning the language. I can’t wait to dive more into your channel. Hearing language explanations from a non native sounds like it’ll be so interesting too. 😄
Sounds great and I think the way you approach the language study is fantastic, get some fundamentals then find a teacher too and focus on practice, great job 👏 Learning from a non native huh? I thought it is a bad idea but you know, usually the natives can not explain why some things are the way they are. For example I’m from Czech and I have no idea about Czech grammar even though I use it daily 😆
@@koreanwithsperyyy 🤣 I’m an American and can’t explain English either hahaha. I saw your TH-cam shorts where you converse in Korean. It was so cool hearing a learner speak at such a level. Every other source I’ve used mainly only involved Korean natives, so hearing someone else speak past a beginner stage is so encouraging. 그런 영상 계속 만들어 주시면 좋겠어요 :) 사실 한국어 하는 외국인을 만난 적이 없는데, 스페리 씨의 실력을 보자마자 너무 기뻤어요. 수고 많으셨습니다! 😊

안녕하세요 ~ 일단은 전 영어 원어민 아닌데 영어랑 제 모국어 문장 순서가 똑같아서 대답 한번 해보겠어요. I went to school yesterday
