Got a 20gb 3rd gen on the way, already replaced the battery, it was the first ipod had when I was younger so I'm pretty chuffed. Got a couple 5th gens to upgrade myself as well and have a bitta fun with. Probably give them as away to family as gifts. Good vid mate.

Great video! I have a question: do you only use 5v chargers for this or you need to put a resistor if you want to use chargers with more voltage? I found a usb-c 24pin connector in aliexpress and I was thinking of doing this USB-C mod for the ds lite.

I had the same problem where the pins for the connector came off the ribbon cable.

use a stand for the camara so you coud get stable video from next video add ssd and ram to it in thumbnail upgradin macpro so more people will watch your videos

Thanks for posting this. Just fyi, I think you would get better performance if you used a full size SD card (instead of the adapter) and you should consider V30 or greater with A2 and U3 (Speed Class 3). The USB 2.0 can write speed about 30MB/s. So the card your using is about 1/3 of the potential of what the iPod can do.

The 1st and 3rd gen Nanos are decent to work on since they prize-open, anything else is genuinely near-impossible

The hardest part is getting in then it's just a matter of desoldering and resoldering in a new battery.

It's Firewire of course it's magic how else would you get fire into a wire.

I've read elsewhere that there's a component, possibly a resister that controls the clickwheel, it's at the edge of the board and can easily be damaged, apparently. . Hopefully someone else will be able to provide you with with better information about this then I can.

Honestly, any plastic MacBook is only worth $10. Unlike the iBook, there’s really nothing endearing about these. They’re slow, feature poor, and all fall apart. If for instance you wanted a Snow Leopard Machine, you’d do really well to get an i7 2011. They emulate PPC better than running the apps natively on a Quad Core G5

Get it an SSD and at least 8GB of ram to make it usable. You can also use OpenCore Legacy Patcher to patch the latest macOS Sonoma on it as High Sierra has been unsupported for years now.

you´ve used the vsync in rocket league because it can push up to 250 fps easy, try it put vsync off and max fps 250 :D
