Summer in the Philippines 🇵🇭🏝️ Dealing with Burnout and Homesickness
After living in Korea for seven years, the fast-paced lifestyle finally caught up with me. In this summer vlog, I take you along on my trip back to the Philippines-a much-needed break from the hustle and burnout I experienced in Korea.

Hi thank you for the video, I wanted to know studying korean language in korean university will somehow increase the chances to study master's there?
It can definitely help, especially since knowing Korean is required but as far as I know, it's not mandatory! If you have a good score on TOPIK than you don't have to go to language school~ 😊

Hi! I’m happy to help, but I’d recommend you search for one that fit your interests and skills! I'd definitely say a well-paid job for expats is in the IT field in Korea but for that you're have to be very proficient with the language too :)

hiii!! thanks for this, i am thinking of doing my masters in korea next year (and maybe also a phd) so it was really helpful to hear your story. my field is also only offered completely in korean so i am a bit worried about that. i wanted to ask how it was for you at the start. how did you go about class discussions and presentations? was it a possibility to also do essays or your thesis in english even though it was the regular track? and if you could go back, what advice would you give yourself before starting your masters? sending good wishes~
Hi! I'm glad this video helped! :) As for class discussions, I had to do them in Korean but for presentations you can ask your professors if you can do them in English instead (some do allow and some prefer Korean). As for thesis, Yonsei actually encourages submitting in English so you can send them for publication. My advice is probably to freshen up on statistics (especially if you're on the research track) as the unis in Korea expect that you already have a background on it. I'll upload more in depth about these soon! Wishing you the best of luck~!
@@janineanne__waaaah thank you for your reply!!! this eases my worries a lot. it's rly good to know that writing your thesis in english is encouraged. and i will definitely take some extra online classes on statistics now. i am not sure how much quantitative research there is in educational technology, but it will be valuable knowledge and skills either way. i will be looking forward to your other videos!!

Ms Janine Korea University is one of the most difficult universities to enrol for. May we ask you that perhaps next time you can tell us more about your school life and how different it is compared to Philippine schools or universities. I am interested to know the kind of assessments they have for students, class routines, no. of students per class, courses and subjects...and more. Thank you reading.

Janine Anne 제닌, I found out how to do it but I’m not sure if it’s safe. Will it put any viruses in my computer or make things slow?
Macs in general are less likely to get viruses so don't worry :) Also, it didn't slow up my computer but it takes up RAM so whenever I use heavy softwares, I just turn it off :)
