Hi, I love your proposals and what you promote with Kagi. As of today, I'm using Brave Search and although I'm happy with the results of their own indexing engine, I don't trust Brave as an organization as much, even more knowing how involved they are for cryptocurrencies, NFTs and generative AI. I would like to ask a couple of things that are not mentioned in your FAQ. The first question is, how efficient is it in terms of computing resource consumption compared to the competition? The second one is, what programming languages do you usually use to build Kagi? And lastly, is it possible to use your search engine in Firefox? Thank you.

I think I now know less about what The Assistant does than I did before watching this video. I am already subscribed to Kagi search and love it. Please, when you make content like this, make it useful. I came here not to be entertained (and wasn't); I want to know what this thing does and see it in action.

I have been a really happy Kagi user for a while now, truly unmatched in the grand scheme of things. I totally get that $10/mo is a lot to some people, they do have multiple tiers with limited searches per month. I believe that people have been trained to not understand value when it comes to the internet and software; it is not free, never has been and never will be, just let that sink in. I know, no one would be able to afford everything they use if every product/service starts charging, but just pick your battles and put thought into how you spend your money.

Great video and great product. I've been a loyal customer for a year and a half now, and I'm not going anywhere else any time soon. It's not just the company's mission (which is great) but it's also just a superior PRODUCT. Such a rare combo.

Your branding team appears to have skipped doing proper research (quite ironic for a search company). In many Portuguese-speaking countries like Portugal, Brazil, Angola, and Mozambique, "Kagi" resembles the word "caguei" (pronounced kah-gay or kah-gee in Brazilian Portuguese). This is the past tense of the verb "cagar," meaning "to defecate." Literally translated, "caguei" means "I pooped," and it's often used informally or humorously, sometimes with a dismissive tone, like saying "I don’t care" or "Whatever." A little search could have saved you from this! For context, Portuguese is spoken by approximately 260 million people worldwide, quite a substantial audience to alienate unintentionally. As for your product, it's an interesting idea, but it's very expensive for most developing countries. Bring the cost down to something reasonable, like $1 or $2 per month, and make a clear, public promise that you'll never collect and sell user data-ever!!. If you can ensure reasonable pricing and privacy for your users now and in the future, I don’t see why millions of people wouldn’t jump on board. The idea is solid; it just needs better execution and accessibility.

The one thing I am missing, that Google has, is a "products"/"shopping" tab. Would be really valueble in a no ad search engine

WAY too expensive. When thhe competition is more well establishhed and can thrive on fractions of an advertising cent per user theres no way to justify $10 / month per user for this.

Thank you so much for this end of year wrap up. As an early adopter and ultimate subscriber, I’m very excited to see your plans unfold in 2025. The separate updates from the panel were really useful, your output is so high, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with all the new features. I saw a few questions about how you’re going to compete with x company, but I think your approach of spending more time creating value for your customers and sticking to your mission than always looking at what your competitors are doing, is the right way to go. I work at AWS, but I’d be interested in any of your architecture diagrams to see how you scale globally and ensure high availability. Even though it’s GCP, it’s still tech to me so always interesting to see how different people tackle these requirements. Once again, thanks for the video, and your great products. Best of luck to all at Kagi for 2025.

Would you consider developing an extension to translate websites using Kagi Translate or perhaps integrating the option to use an API? The translator works exceptionally well, and I believe adding this feature would make it even more valuable.

Another Subscriber here - this makes no sense. You don't show the result of the product, the question he asks it doesn't have a subject. Cut the first 40 seconds where nothing happens. I'm not sure why its so dark and sad. The lightings should change when he finds/use the product. I have no idea what jump back in time is about, and neither will someone at the top of the marketing funnel. Shouldn't the fog clear when the assistant shows up? I just don't know who this is for, subscribers? Maybe, but you don't show features. Top of funnel marketing for the product? No way. I think its biggest issue is all the dead air, no one is going to sit and watch 40 seconds of nothing waiting for something. I want you'll to make good ads, but this ain't it.

This is the dumbest thing I've seen, and I'm a Kagi paid user. An AI could have made a better commercial. Stop with the t-shirt and TH-cam nonsense and focus on improving the product.

Transparency: I hate AI so I’m already jaded, but I don’t think this commercial does a great job at explaining what the assistant even does or why someone should use it, especially over competitors. What makes Kagi’s approach to stupid fucking AI worth someone’s time (and money)? Excited to see what’s to come but as a user I’d go back to the drawing board with this one.

instead of a (bad) commercial maybe invest the money to increase the token limitations of the assistant?
