Well, Roy Head was greater @ his time. His moves was something else. Tom Jones took it to another level. I went to see Roy Head in 66 in Corpus Christi,Tx. Never saw Tom Jones , I loved him ,too. But the original is always the best. Different beat. & I think James Brown got Roy's moves. Not the other way around. Loved James Brown too. So, I say Roy Head wins.

Haywood County's county commission has been a disaster with Chairman Kevin Ensley at the helm. This is the truth. The criminal justice system in our county is an absolute joke, in great part due to a crippling drug problem, and the county's unwillingness to expand the jail system ( which needed expansion a decade ago). This is coupled with an environment, championed by Ensley, which favors approaches which only enable addicts to continue with their behaviors which only contribute to their downward spiral, and making communities worse. Yes, the county is kickstarting technical and trades training programs at the community college- but ONLY AFTER the largest employer ( the Evergreen Pactiv paper mill closed down). I encouraged commissioners a year earlier to fund such programs and promote them, so kids careers wouldn't be controlled by one corporation in one industry. I was totally ignored. So much for proactive thinking. Instead of earlier support of trade programs which could have spurred entrepreneurship, the commission has sent $800,000 to Chamber of Commerce in Asheville in hopes of luring businesses to Haywood County. Zero businesses have been attracted. Back to the jail- because of the county's insular old boy network, decision makers refused to consider smarter and more cost efficient jail designs ( proposed by a retired corrections official with 30 years experience who offered help)..which could have saved millions. County officials barged ahead with their plans, despite having zero experience dealing with the issue. What was originally a 16 million dollar project grew to 21 million on just over a year, and when put out to bid, only got one offer to do- for 28 million. The county commission backed away from the project ( one of the few wise decisions they've made), but we're back to square one again, with no improvement in sight to the catch and release practices currently in existence. What really is sad, speaking as a conservative Republican, is that EVERY person on that commission has an R after their name. Terry Ramey is probably the only real conservative on the board, and he's been treated disrespectfully by the others. Haywood County has some serious issues ahead.

Rick mentions how confusing it is and I agree what has been confusing is how our government has applied or misapplied or totally ignored the Constitution in our day to day lives. This misapplication has gone on for so long, we are seeing a reversal in it's intended use. The Constitution is clear, our rights are clear. And we must STAND to keep and protect our rights.
