Farrow & Ball colour expert Patrick O'Donnell shares his design advice on a tour of his family home
As Farrow & Ball’s brand ambassador, Patrick O’Donnell’s command of colour is second to none. But colour is just one of the components he has deployed in the gradual transformation of his "very ordinary" 1930s suburban home. We drop by to discover the design rules he lives by - and to sample a soupçon of mischief he makes in the process ...

A Designer Couple’s Country Cottage… in South-East London
มุมมอง 108K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
“We had this dream,” said Peter Pritchard when we visited him at home with his wife, Eleanor, “of having a place in the country and a place in the city.” What they landed upon when they moved, however, was something they soon realised somehow offered, quite miraculously, the best of both. Built into the upper reaches of one of south-east London’s treacherously steep hills, the couple’s low-lyin...
An Artist's 500-Year-Old Manor House That's Been Left Untouched

Sophie Wilson doesn’t do perfect. When we first spoke to the artist and founder of 1690 Store about making a film about life in Crowland Manor, the tumbledown house she and three of her children have called home 2014, she warned us that we would have to “take us as you find us”. “We live alongside history here,” she continued, “rather than moving away from it.” As well as paying heed to the liv...

Love love love his style. Eclectic and personal yet still cohesive. Just lovely 🥰
Love 💕 love Patrick O’Donnell… and Farrow & Ball… and as a Designer it’s a thrill every time I get to use their fabulous designs in a project!
Loved his home. Thank you for sharing it with us. DA
I think his home is beyond hideous. All that clutter and clashing colours! In the same way that people in the fashion industry often dress like the pits of the earth, it would seem that designers’ own interiors are not something to aspire to.
Absolutely LOVED this! What a beautiful home! The ‘holes’ I can totally relate too! The ‘crap’ … yes… shows your personality! I cannot stand the, as I refer to them ‘beige interiors’ - every home looks the same. No personality whatsoever! I love a home that makes you want explore and look around the shelves and walls. A home that has you fascinated and excited! More of Patrick please! Thoroughly enjoyable video! ❤❤❤🇬🇧🙏🙌🙌🙌
Nice and full.of personality. A bit messy and exentric but its all part of the charm of the house.
I would love to have seen a tour and have you show what you changed in the restoration/renovation. The cottage is lovely, and I really love the paint colors in the rooms that you shared. I’m thinking that you will really enjoy the cottage if you actually keep it into your senior years. I would love one like that about now. Thank you so much for sharing your sweet cottage!
I really need to come spend a week at your home, because it would take me that long to look at only half your stuff!! Your house is the type that makes me so happy that I can’t stop smiling. Thanks so much for sharing your home!
I LIKE this guy!!!
"Always have a piece of crap in your room because it brings personality in, and it's more about you."
I love this man
Lovely. 💐
I just love your house 🏡 and I love watching you 😀🌈👍
"Buxom barmaid in a former life" lol
He's absolutely charming, but that house is visual vomit. I'm not British so I'm assuming all the compliments are from people accustomed to pokey, cluttered, claustrophobic houses. God it's vile. There's hardly any light anywhere and the light that is coming in, in is swallowed up by the overwhelming blather of confusing colours and hideous, taste-sapping tat in every nook and on every surface, (green leopard print wallpaper with Ikea plates anyone?). Just about, actually it probably is, the most revolting interior I've ever seen anyone try to pass off as something to be admired. Like a Pound Shop threw up inside a shoe box.
Colour expert ? Interior design EXPERT !
Nothing crappy about Jackie Collins.
One of the most beautiful and interesting videos
Is that "quirky" means? I love it!
Lively but who dusts all those knick-knacks?
Kudos to you both. A beautifully done job at keeping the integrity of the original features in tact while subtlely bringing this gem into the 21st century. I've seen so many old London homes gutted and turned into ultra-modern spaces that resemble an IKEA store. And that makes me so sad. You're home is stunning!❤
Im guessing its in Nunhead?
“ I was clearly a buxom barmaid in a previous life.” That’s it, I’m in love with him.
I am laughing because my walls are all "re-hacked" because I collect and change art often. Stamping is a great way to paper a bathroom.
It is a well loved house and it shows!!Beautiful absolutely beautiful!!It really has soul.❤️Chrissy❤️
3 days ago I wrote : I am in love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ today I can hardly hear your lovely voice the music was is too loud!

What a charming man with a charming home. ❤
what a fun and very informative episode - filled to the brim with good ideas!
I am in love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love everything except for the guest bedroom. Love his character ❤
What a wonderful home. Inspirational. A great use of colours and texture throughout. Thank you to Patrick for showing us around his home.
I would dir for the green Colfax wallpaper
Very quirky and charming. He has realistic decorating skills. And he talks really fast! I couldn’t keep up with him 😄
Jackie Collins 😂🥰🥰🥰🤣
Love that kitchen. Cozy and warm with personality rather than the white, grey, stainless steel, endless granite counter, industrial cookie cutter nightmares that are most kitchens these days.
Never heard of him ... loved him
please give him his own show! I could listen to him all day. Lovely Lovely video and thank you for opening the door to your house.
The editing of this drove me crazy. Hold still for two f****** minutes.
Perfect to have all the colors etc. in the description! Thank you, merci beaucoup!
Love your home!!!!! Much love from South of France Use colours from F+B !!!!!
this is soo gooood!!
I want him as a friend. He is just so genuine, honest, and funny. I don't like a lot of people, but I like him.
Is it okay to say I can’t stand any of it? Horrible colors and worse combinations. I think I would get sick if I had to live in there. Isn’t it interesting how different we all are? I just have to laugh. “Vive la difference! “
Such a beautiful couple and their home reflects this....I would love to have seen more of each room but then maybe they wanted a little privacy within their calm and peaceful life. Thank you for a glimpse of your lifestyle :)
First time I've seen him, but am charmed. I'm also excited to see the little house on the bathroom shelf. I have one just like it. It belonged to a great grandmother.
How gorgeous! I loved watching this.
This man would be a wonderful best friend-I can just imagine the stories he can tell. Beautiful and very interesting home-again, the stories it could tell.
Seriously? Don’t u want people to watch/listen? Noise is horrific…. How tragic
