@@Barbgantuan-r4j ah gotcha. I’ve heard the grind from 98-99 is rough but I thought it took weeks or months to get there. 20 hours is a lot but it makes sense for the last level I think

@@drako9485 ah, I worded myself poorly there. To get to level 98 (i.e. 97-98) was 20 hours. The time from 98 to 99 was approx 40 hours.

@eduardopao well, hmmm. I'd say Mage Plate as you can put it across all classes without any (or very little) strength stat investment. The extra 224 def only amounts to an extra 20% def once enigma is rolled (a flat 775 def added). Skills add to that of course but the difference isn't game breaking. In my opinion of course

@ramachandra7729 to name a few reasons; no lag, same maps, players count manipulation and the rewarding challenge of having to find, rather than trade, for a specific item.

Online is pointless. I can spend a few FG and get a full char in less than an hour. Online D2 is basically brain dead experience, game is trashed by thousands of bots bringing an infinite amount of HR even day 1 of new ladder. SSF is the only way to play D2 if you have at least half a brain. So no point in going online if you play SSF as you'd get undesired lag and map reset + no /players modification

@AlexanderG.-gb6qz I only ran TZ trav on p1-p3 for the runes. It was too dangerous on P8 and the XP returns were less than other areas. In saying that, when I was super close to 99 Trav became terrorised so I took that as a "sign" for where to hit 99. But to kinda answer your question, I wouldn't doubt that Barbgantuan did 5000 odd runs of trav in total along the way!

@@Barbgantuan-r4j I am amazed myself because I play Diablo 2 since beta days where everything was broken in-game 🤣 I have them all to this day thanks to the floppy disk technology. Today I play Project Diablo 2 mostly,but tbh they made Resurected just to try and beat old one...

Fair enough - VIT is normally the go. A couple things led to going more into STR; a) I was almost exclusively running TZ that were relatively safe b) I was finding the grind extremely long from level 95 and I knew that 1 point into strength was approx 1% increase in damage c) I was running 10-15k def (build dependent), 24% damage reduction plus the 50% from the merc's decrep d) relating to the previous, I'd also seen enough hairy situations and adjusted my playstyle (after a good hundred plus hours on the build) to feel confident at around 3000hp.

@jaybee7754 I saw llama do a video on something like that a year ago I think. I just thought it was a bug. A bug you can trigger by the sounds of it - cheers for the diablo fun fact tho! One I learned yesterday is that (I'm told) the rarest drop in the game is a minor mana potion from Hell Baal...

I agree! The pain when it rolled... but as they say, a terrible Anni is far better than none. I dropped another SOJ just two days ago. I don't know yet whether I'll keep as is or run DClone again...

Ah, YEP. when I say I needed to have a break from the levelling and have some fun in trav, that wasn't really a choice😅 the XP bar didn't even move after a couple full runs of a given P8 TZ area...
