Guess I'm confused. This place is only NXT's. The place that had both was Suncoast, one side was GSX the other side of NXT.

Yeah these NXT's are pretty much mimicking AMF. The pin distribution is the same as the other GS series, but the sweep assembly is trying to copy AMF.

You would be correct. Tried learning how to use my thumb, just can't seem to clear it from the ball. I do use thumb for spare shooting as I pretty much throw straight shots.

Just was in a slump. I go through cycles like any other bowler.

Just hit a slump for a little bit. As for the rates, it's not bad. Kinda a bowling desert here. Next nearest center is Riverside Lanes in Laughlin which is like a 35 minute drive. Havasu Lanes is next at an hour drive.

I know, I like this side better. Been asking for months to flip them. I will try and get in and bowl under regular lighting so you see the real colors. Hope you enjoy your trip to Vegas soon.

Considering this place has been in business for 77 years and still uses above-ground ball returns, it's vintage. It is what it is. I'm not the owner, don't know the reason why they went to string.

I had to look it up because I'd never seen it before, but string based pin-setting has been around since 1963. If this place's system is that old, I'd call that 'vintage'. String setters are much cheaper than the fully mechanical systems - the equipment is like 1/10 the cost, they're much more reliable, cost of repairs and parts is minimal (tangles and most repairs can be resolved by anyone), and no need for heavily trained techs to fix them, and the electricity costs to run the machines is also minimal.

@@kindablue1959 Cheaper doesn’t mean better. Switching from Free Falls to Strings is like you don’t know how to fix your normal car or too lazy to set up your Halloween Decorations and the stupid solution you got is go buy a Tesla or Inflatable Halloween Decorations. Free Fall Pinsetters are reliable as long as you clean and take care of them, otherwise its your fault for neglecting them. Strings have been been only used for 5 Pin and Rubber Duckpins, that’s why they’re “vintage” that way. Bowling Pins aren’t made to have anything attach to them ever since Tenpin Bowling first existed

@@PinoyBowlerGS92 I never said it was better. But cheaper to the alley owner could mean the difference between staying in business or not. I've read about the cost of maintaining the fully mechanicals, and it's much higher - you often need to hire a trained tech to do the work, and there are like 10x as many parts that wear. And as I said, their monthly electric bill is much higher too. I don't own an alley, so I can only go by what's commonly published. The pros and elitists can argue about the experience differences all they want, while the non-pros in a small town can still have some fun.

At times its a bit too much, but it is what it is.

This is Nevada so not humid, just 115 in the summer. But yeah, I worked on A2s and the summer heat just swells the pins just enough to cause the 5-pin to not drop can jam the deck.

As much as I would like to argue this topic...USBC certified them and just going to have to deal with it. I wish they would have done a lot more research, but it is what it is. I love my freefalls.

I will correct myself along with you. These are actually 98s because when this place opened up, the Xs haven't been out yet. These are also frankensteins because they have parts from all of the GS series (minus the NXTs) Talking to the head mechanic and manager of this place, they are really 98s.

I assumed 96s because I know what a 92 is like. This place opened before the release of the Xs. So I was down to either the 96 or 98.

Yeah but GS-X has black pin holders. and also see how the cups are grayest that’s how you can tell it’s not a GSX if that makes since.

@@Greggys10PinsI also notice this with GS92s they normally loads all pins on 2nd ball unlike the 96 does and places has the 96 and 92 normally had the metal poll above the sweep broad is what I also noice with the 92 and 96

Lane had oil but it was pushed to the backend, which doesn't help any of my two strike bowling balls.

Could be, I am unaware of the league and oil schedule of this place.

There was oil out there, it was mostly to the backend though.

@@InsaneKorean77 Yeah, also probably need to get the one ball resurfaced as well. That might make a big difference as well.

Didn't really have any problems here. Yeah the lanes were a bit dry, but I tried to adjust the best I could. Once I start a video for the series, I stick with it.

If you heard it, you could hear my ball rolling over the finger holes, tells you I flattened my hand just to get it down the lane.
