Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) - Pro Superbike CSBK Race 1 - Raw POV aboard 2022 Yamaha R1
This was the first time I've raced the R1 and also my first dry day on the R1 at CTMP. The bike worked very well and I was super happy to finish race 1 with a top 10. First few laps were a little rough with going wide in T2 and T4 but I was able to clean them up closer to the end of the race where I also had a few battles with Paul!

We were really unfortunate to have poor weather for this trackday. We were on slicks in mixed conditions with light rain coming down at certain parts of the track. Not very confidence inspiring but an incredible track nonetheless!
First Trackday with my new R1!

Special thanks to Pirelli for their continued support. For this trackday, I was on the Pirelli SC3 compound. It offered excellent grip and I was just 1 second off my AM National race winning pace despite the new to me bike and missing seat pad. Really happy with how this bike came out and excited for the upcoming season! Visit us at Ride42.ca

KSR Trackday R1 Laps POV
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Last KSR trackday of the season was a cold one! With a high of 11 degrees along with a 50% chance of rain throughout the day being forecasted, it wasn’t looking too good. However, I was really excited for this trackday; I would be testing out a new bike! Throughout my time with trackdays and 3 years of racing, I have always been on a Yamaha R6 (SuperSport 600cc) bike. These bikes have no rider ...

Great battle with Louie Raffa and the 2022 AM Sport Bike champion Paul Courtois. Really happy with the pace considering being significantly down on power vs others in that class. Started taking turn 4 in 5th then dropped two gears for 5a. Between 5a and 5b had to drop another gear to second which was really awkward. Incredible track to race on! Best lap of the weekend was a 1:26.9 on Sunday.

Great battle with Louie Raffa and the 2022 AM Sport Bike champion Paul Courtois. Really happy with the pace considering being significantly down on power vs others in that class. SOAR 2022 - Round 6 and 7 Double Header!
มุมมอง 653ปีที่แล้ว
Round 6 marked the last event of the 2022 race season and was a huge success. This last round was a double header; points were going to be crucial across both days. I also switched from Dunlop back to Pirelli; I was able to get very comfortable on them in very little time. Saturday started with AM SBK, I got the lead right off the start and defended against Zoltan as he made multiple attempts t...
SOAR 2022 - Round 5
มุมมอง 1.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Going in to round 5 and looking at the points for AM SSP, it became clear that for me to win the championship I would have to win round 5 and both races at round 6. I would leave nothing on the table. Qualifying went well securing the front row for almost every race. I was ready for Sunday. The AM SSP race was the main focus on race day; luckily it was also the first race of the day. I had a st...

Brilliant
Dam r6 sitting that close eith a gsxr 750
Awesome footage of the tunnel! I missed that when I went there.
Gotta see rear turn indicators! Not legal without those.
Turn signals are integrated into the brake light unit. TST Industries makes a good integrated tail light for the R6; very visible.
@seb42 Nice. But if there integrated and less than 9 inch apart. Let alone 1 inch separation from the brake light. A rulebook cop would "fix it ticket" it. Calif law. Happen to me once on my Busa with a Jonny rulebook CHP 😆
What a great set up. Congratulations on a great build. I’m looking to do a similar kind of build or buy built if I can’t. I can just about drill a hole into a wall. How do I learn the framing, insulation stuff that you did. Super neat!! I won’t even bother with the electrical stuff. That I will pay someone to do 😂.
great track
Great ride!! In 1977 as a child i watched Kenny Roberts try catch Mike Baldwin around there on TZ 750S !! He had nothing for Baldwin that day!!
This is exactly what I want
An r1 with cbr colors is throwing me off
🏁Way to go man ! Let's get racing!! 🏁
Great riding love these videos. Makes me want to race eventually.
Good battle!! Was that close to a front tuck @15:57 felt like a butt clenching moment
Good catch! I bottomed out the footpegs and scraped them which jolted the bike and unloaded the tires briefly. Really upset me as it set me back a bit but I was able to close the gap back!
What did you film this with???
This was filmed with the Insta360 Go3 camera
Great POV!! What camera is that?

Yes sir!
I gather this was the first dry laps that weekend on that bike. That'll make things interesting ...
Exactly. I had total of 1 dry practice session prior to this race, so was a bit of a challenge. Luckily it worked out pretty good!
Great race and always love a burnout at the end!
Gotta put on a bit of a show for the fans ;)
Great way to show this type of racing!
Insane bro! Good sheet. Keep the race content coming.
Way to go, Sebastian! You must be super proud to have finished top 10 with fastest lap on last lap of race. 👏👏
Thanks Eric! Absolutely, going into it with such little seat time, my expectations were not very high. Shame Sunday rained out, I think I could've taken out quite a bit more time!
looked like you had fun
Why aren't you using the clutch to shift?
@@jonathankhoury9055 the bike has a sensor on the shift rod to detect push/pull pressure. It cuts ignition to unload engine for upshifts and blips throttle for downshifts. (Quickshifter and auto-blipper)
@@seb42 I see! That's a pretty neat feature. Very quick. Thanks for getting back to me. I watched you race in Shubie a few times over the years. Good season!
Very cool !
I’m going here tomorrow morning, leaving around 5 if you wanna come
@@CoreyReid-h5f I was just there this past weekend racing pro superbike! I'll have a POV video posted on my channel tomorrow 😊

Damn Dude, KILLED IT!!!
I'm impressed with your creativity in designing the bed surface to fold down from the ramp at 12:37.
🔥
I like it, I’m installing insulation in my new 6x14 just pulled it home from Washington to California with my 5,000 pound ford flex 460 horsepower V6 engine, manufactured hitch with a 3,500 total weight rated hitch 250 pounds at the hitch… trailer 1,300 pounds had electric brakes installed by the dealer. Your trailer must be about 1,500 pounds, your car 3,500 pounds, not suitable for towing! Please reconsider your tow vehicle. With your motorcycle, guessing weight 2,200 pounds, hitch weight must not exceed 300 pounds. Be prepared for an emergency braking situation if your trailer starts swaying you will most likely not be able to to regain control! If you have brakes on your trailer, install brake controller it will help you to control trailer swaying. On a windy day, wind can blow over a 80,000 pound 18 wheeler. As I started my trip with a 12’ U-Haul trailer California I5 out of Sacramento the wind blew for 60 miles scared me that the wind might blow me off the road, I mean scared!!! I had driven my 18 wheeler on this road many times in the wind , believed me your BMW is not a tow vehicle. You can get by with it. Maybe 100,000 miles but there’s always traffic and weather. You never know when your going to have to brake in an emergency, it’s hell when your trailer try’s to pass you, Your BMW is the same color as my Mustang 4 million miles driving the roads of this country.
@@APhotographerTravels2025JohnMc thanks for the feedback. I actually modified the trailer a bit and now carry 2 bikes with it. Fully loaded I'm about 3200lbs now which is within the tow rating of the car. The car is about 3700lbs weight. I do have trailer brakes which are very effective. I've towed very regularly for the past few years and it's been flawless. Towed thru heavy winds, traffic, poor weather etc. It can be done with no problems, just have to drive to the conditions. It's a perfect vehicle for towing. Long wheelbase, wide track, low center of gravity, oversized sport brakes and cooling. Tows right around 2300rpm at 105km/h getting 18L/100kms. Very happy with it.
💤
Great video! On your out lap at turn one you exited at half track, a big no-no. You missed turn three Apex. You missed turn six Apex, you missed turn seven Apex. Turn 10 your on the brakes going over the bumps down the hill. Then you missed turn 14 Apex before you decided to roll off pit in and then post this video.

Which track day organizer was? I also have an R1 I just finished fixing after not riding for a year and a half. Great vid, never been to CTMP myself just Shannonville, Cayuga and grand bend (grand is shit lol)
Great riding. Subbed.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Pace wasn't the greatest because of the conditions and my first time with this bike there. I'll get some faster laps posted up hopefully later in the year!
Was this monday or tues?
This was on Tuesday; Monday was unfortunately a complete write off. I did get out for the last session on Monday but it was even worse conditions
@@seb42 I was hoping to get to try mosport for the first time on my S1000RR on Monday... but I didn't end up coming out due to the rain (Bogie is my home track). I'm happy to hear you where at least able to get some time on track on Tuesday.. and by the looks of it, didn't slow you down too much! Nice riding and great camera stability. It’s only a single axle… No
That’s more than enough for the weight he’s hauling.

Nice bike, Seb! Med-hard slicks are so underrated (for track day). Banana man looking good as always. 👍👍
A very capable tire indeed! Are you doing any trackdays this year? I'll be at CTMP for May 27/28
@@seb42 Oh yeah, we'll be there May 25-27 ✊
Why do american tracks look so bad?
Because of red tape most are in small towns or rural areas so they don't get the funding needed to look like motogp tracks.
@@gsxrunit I get that but come on. In Europa we also have local tracks but they don't even look half as bad as these American ones do. The track in this video almost looks like a public road

The same side as robinhood and the rowing Center, you follow the gravel road all the way down for about 5km
