How is the leg room? I'm 6 ft tall and I've had issues with even some SUVs even though 6 ft isn't really that tall. Does the person behind the driver have enough room? Good video! Great ride!
Leg room is decent and I am over 6 feet as well. I had to adjust the seat to the lowest position and tilt it back, but headroom and leg room is fine. Thank you for watching!
Has anyone figured out how to get the exterior lights to turn off when running ‘my room mode’, or unplugged in ‘ready mode’ (car on, in park, and running on the main drive battery). Let’s say you were sitting in your car waiting for someone but didn’t want to be the center of attention….i’d like to run AC or heat, keep the radio on but simply turn off the exterior lights. Can this be done?
@@ronburke2422 You should be able to turn them completely off using the left arm on the side of the steering wheel and is Auto Light button off, which is on the left side by door?
@@MarkCeeeeI would like an update on this. Can you take a video at night with room mode on?
@ sure I think I’ve done this in my garage and don’t recall the lights being automatically turned on, car has automatic high beam lights.
I’m sitting in my car now. The light/blinker stalk has 3 positions when turning the end.. full clockwise is ‘auto’. Next up is a symbol that looks like two small headlights pointing in opposite directions. Fully counterclockwise is a symbol that looks like a headlight with the rays deflected downward a bit. That’s my only choices. None are ‘off’, like every other car I have ever owned. Which one are you using to get your lights to be off? I think the car has an outside light sensor that also factors in. Testing this in daylight is useless… needs to be tested in the dark, that’s when I want to be able to turn off the exterior lights!
@ I just put car in accessory mode in the dark and lights didn’t come on at all.
I have a bZ4X. If you put a 500g weight on the steering wheel it wont realise you're not holding it and will drive handsfree indefinitely. I use a one of those fabric strap on weights and just leave it draped on the spoke.

I had a dealer tell me that I needed a new air cabin, new engine air filter, and windshield wiper blades. Ironically, I had changed all 3 myself about a week before going to the dealer. Be careful, they will try to scam you with unnecessary parts and maintenance.
Definitely have to be careful, I agree.
I think you can measure your kw usage for free: Yes, Con Edison customers can access their smart meter data online through their My Account. Con Edison's smart meters provide detailed information about energy usage, which can help customers save money and make better energy decisions
How would you be able to turn off Adaptive cruise mode ? Just by hitting cancel on the steering wheel isn’t working. The car had some repairs done, got calibrated and now new sensors are coming on that weren’t on before. Manual wasn’t clear. TIA
@@lorenaarenas4119 hitting the cancel button should disengage it or you can hit the adaptive cruise control button as well. Another option is to press the brake . All of these should disengage adaptive cruise control. I would check with your dealer or whoever did the repair to make sure the sensors were properly fixed.
Ill NEVER own a car with a camera facing inward unless its a camera i put there.
No it’s not worth it, a small accident and the car will be a total loss. Had two priuses.
No way Tesler can beat this!
How does this do when driving in town or in stop n go traffic? Im wondering what the difference is between LTA and JTA
@@begley09 I only use LTA and ACC on highway driving, not in town. Be careful using LTA in construction sites as it misread the lane markings and jerked the wheel. Don’t know JTA.
Thanks so much
You're most welcome!
So, just watched your video as I am trying to get a Prius. Just not sure on which one to get. I want the car for commute purpose. I drive about 55 miles each way. (So to and from work). My route is about 90% highway. I do have the capability to charge at home with the factory level one charger and about 25 cents per KWh. So which do you recommend in my situation?
@@elsitioaburrido3342 your total commute is 110 miles? Do you have access to a HOV lane? I would do the Prime as you can charge at home and save time going to gas stations, plus you will get about 45-55 miles on battery each day.
@@MarkCeeee yes I do have access to HOV.
@@elsitioaburrido3342 In NY only the Prius Prime as of 2022 is eligible for HOV, Prius isn’t.
Gen2 for life
Amazing video thx. Does it have collision avoidance?
@@pablobon5957 yes it does and it will stop the car if you are approaching too close to an object.
Gas here costs $6.89 per gallon ($1.838 L). Hydro is just .1325kwh (less really as that price includes the monthly service charge). We have driven our 2024 Prime 5,442Km (3,401m), and have used less than 1.5 tanks of fuel, about 15 gallons. Since the summer temperatures arrived, the engine has not started in two months.
All those icons are telling you are that none of the rear seat belts are buckled. If you have people in the back this is helpful with telling you who is buckled. The back seats do not have weight sensors. These icons are extremely common among many brands.
i need to do this. I guess ill pick one up from the parts department at the next dealer i drive by? can it be ordered on amazon?
@@vert911 I saw it on Amazon though not sure of fit or quality, so bought from Autozone.
@@MarkCeeee bought one at a dealer $24 OEM. It's white, not blue like yours.
@@vert911 one I picked up looked a little sturdier, but sure both do the job.
I'm wondering: · How much did the new cabin air filter cost you? · Was it an OEM part that you got from the Toyota dealership? · Or is an aftermarket filter from Amazon perhaps just as good as the Toyota one?
John, I paid ~$30 for the higher quality STP brand, which seemed much better quality than the OEM I replaced. I've used STP and Fram before on other cars; they hold up pretty well and I was already in AutoZone. You probably can get cheaper on Amazon for ~$10-$20, but I saw some reviews saying it didn't fit properly or started smelling bad after few months, so totally up to you.
@@MarkCeeee Thanks for the info! 🙏 🙂
I tried to buy a fifth generation Prius. Damn shame the dealers marked them all up way beyond MSRP. Bought a Tesla instead.
Don’t blame you, markup is ridiculous.
The batteries on the se and the xse are the same size. The smaller tires on the se account for the mileage difference.
If you went using a pure EV it would've only costed you 20 dollars.
To do that would have costed too many hours.
Can you really call it a nuisance if you have the option to disable? Hilarious the way you folks describe things that are optional.
There's a mode to use that doesn't consume the electric battery?
HV or Hybrid Vehicle mode
Thanks Mark this is very useful. So many things to learn with this car. Currently, I'm trying to figure out why I'm only getting 40 miles of range when the car is fully charged.
Dan could be weather, level or air conditioning and driving conditions. If you are doing highway, in colder or very hot weather, this will affect range.
As Mark has pointed out, there are numerous factors that determine EV range with your Prime. For us, the biggest one is ambient temperature. When ours turned-up in late March the daily temperatures here hovered around 5c (42f). At that temperature we saw 80Km (50m) in EV Mode. A few days ago (with a temperature of 25c (82f), I drove 91Km (56.87m), in EV Mode with 6% SOC left. Yesterday, at start-up, the computer told us our range would be 94Km (58.75m). Our driving habit has not changed in the least. The roads in our tiny community are posted at 40kph (and, it's very hilly. Elevation changes in excess of 500' in just a few miles), and we usually drive at 55kph. To achieve these numbers you have to roll with no electrical loads like heat/AC, heated/cooled seat or steering wheel warming. Our car has 17" wheels, and that's a major benefit. It will be interesting to see what we'll get in EV Mode next winter. Our plan is to source a set of 16" rims/tires (winter tires) in the 215-60 format, a close copy of the OEM set-up.
Charging it doesn't seem to make a huge difference in price per mile I don't think. I think it's about 20% better than just hybrid.
For me convenience of not going to gas station frequently and charging at home , as well as, access to HOV, which the same year Prius doesn’t have anymore, makes it worth it.
So what's with the app? Is the app just this far off for some reason or is the charging so inefficient it's actually inputing only 60% into the battery of what you're using to charge it?
App is just incorrectly recording charge usage and percentage remaining includes full capacity of the battery, which is not accessible for EV use. Both Level 1 and 2 charging is reported incorrectly as I’ve used both.
Sooo ... You were only driving in an EV mode? Then technically every Tesla driver can drive unlimited miles, eureka!!!
I haven't watched the video, but I can guess. You plugged it in. There, I answered the question.
I did 1000 miles on my jeep wrangler with 15 gallons lol.
If you enjoyed the ride and had fun it’s all good!
