Probably the last time Bobby did Althea at a tempo I can survive. DAC actually play all the songs at a GLACIAL tempo on purpose. Bobby just likes them that way. That - and ticket prices keep - me from seeing them a second time.
No one can ever “replace” Jerry, but I’m so tired of the head gatekeepers that hate Mayer playing wit them. He’s not replacing Jerry, he’s keeping the Music alive wether you hate or love him. He’s a real musician not doing this for some fame or money. He just wants to play with the band he idolizes and he’s doing a damn good job
You can tell here than mayor is still kind of stuck in his blues style ....nowadays you can really hear the improvements and he sounds more like jerry playing those type of scales and modes better
I love dead and co honestly but this is far and away the least favorite althea ive ever heard lol i just cant atand Johns guitar tone and phrasing for this. Not at all. Again, i love dead n co, they keep something going musically rhats hard to keep going, but im aure as fuck glad over the last 8+ yrs John actuwlly learned how this stuff is supposed to get played.
That was Epic! reminds me of my days in the late 70's & early eighties going to as many shows as possible, a year or so before Go to Heaven came out, this St.of circumstance etc. Such great memories. Fine work John Mayer! living in hawaii fir the past close to 40 yrs. Ive missed all the Dead & co. shows etc. Bobby played here on Maui about hmmm 25+ yrs. ago w/ Rob Wasserman Aloha
