I was watching SlayerOfBabies walk through one of his games really quickly, when it suddenly struck me, like lightning on a stormy day, that I could be rich, rich beyond my wildest dreams, and that dream is that if I could play this game faster than anyone else has ever played it before. As it turns out, this is a tied World Record between numerous people, hence the dream beyond my wildest drea...

This is not a TAS. i don't stream cause my internet is butt cheeks. I ain't seen nobody with a better time so i'm claiming WR in this shit game. I even beat the TAS i think. Timer starts when i press start, there's a few seconds of loading before the game starts. Timer ends when i catch Jerry on the last stage. can still save a few seconds but i'm done.
When you know the game well you can finish it in less than ten minutes. It's an original game, the only one of its kind on the console and that's great.
This game still gives me anxiety

I cannot for the life of me work out how you do the end of stage 5. I can manipulate Jerry into doing the ledge climb consistently, but I cannot catch him thereafter. For you he seems to drop a mine and then walk...for me he always sprints. Any ideas?
@@jesusspeedgames Haha amazing timing. Ok, I'll carry on experimenting - I've been using an emulator to try repeatedly but no luck as yet on that stage. I've found another strat that's ~80% consistent that loses around 8 seconds, but I've found a way to save 14 on stage 4.

Playing this game back in the early 90s is probably the closest I've ever come to doing a speedrun. Can't remember exactly what my time was, somewhere around 6 minutes I think.
I remember having that game back in the day and making the same speedrun. The game was fun but got tired of it, then I managed to trade it for Phantasy Star at a local store. Good times.
