Golden Antlers Woodturning
United States
All of the crazy projects I do from my home shop. General woodworking to elaborate turning projects, shop improvements to musical instruments. A little of everything.
Scottish Smallpipes, Part 3
Now that the basic bores are done, it's time to create the tuning chambers and the bell chambers

Scottish Smallpipes Part 2

Part 2. Now that the wood is cut to size and turned to cylinders, it's tile to start the pilot bore and drilling out for bore sizes
Scottish Smallpipes project part 1
Starting a project of making smallpipes. Step one is cutting wood to size and rough turning to cylinders
Wooden Baby Rattle with a Captured Ring
With many friends having babies soon, and one on the way myself, it was time to practice making a rattle. The captured ring design means it's all from one piece of wood.
No weld rocket stove heater
I was tired of working in a cold shop, so I built a mini rocket stove for heat. It needs work to trap the heat for slow release, but it works for now
Finial style Ornament
Another quick Ornament idea, this time shaped like an upside down finial. Challenging myself to only use one tool again, this time being a skew chisel
Quick Acorn Ornament

The season is almost here, and it's time to crank out the ornaments. As a personal challenge, I did it all with the same parting tool
Segmented Tumbler Cup
When a friend commissions a custon cup, and you have lots of quarter inch maple, how about a stacked cup?
Oak Walking Stick
A custom order, making a walking stick from pieces of red oak. About 25 inches long, this was a quick and fun project. From gluing to finish sanding in less than 24 hours goldenantlers/ www.goldenantlerswoodworking.com/
Making a French Style Rolling Pin for a friend to give as a gift. A very basic project that teaches essential skills for a woodturner.
Made a knobbed oak cane myself on my lathe. A walkingstick and a warclub in one!
Where can I buy the three red wheels support gadget shown in this video?
Shame about the music, can’t have it all I suppose.
Rather hear the shop sound than the music. Cut my audio off to watch-goodproject.
do you finish the project?
I did, but I lost all the footage due to a corrupted file
@@goldenantlerswoodturning4372 can you please post a Little Little vídeo of how it finish please?
I enjoyed the music as well!
Why do you connect an air supply to that gun drill? Isn't it just a very long drill bit?
gun drills are designed with an air tube up the inside of the bit, and the flute doesn't twist up the bit. This means the air pushes the chips up and out, and also keeps the tip cool while it cuts. keeping it cool means I can turn up the speed as fast as it can spin the wood, making a much smoother cut that tracks the center of the wood even better.
Sorry. Have checked on this issue before and shipping for such an item from USA would make it prohibitively expensive. Thanks anyway.
What sort of cost would I be looking at please?
depending on type of wood used, starts at $60 before shipping costs
Very nice indeed. Do you sell these. Am in the UK.
this one was a commission for a friend, made to thicker specs than normal, but I could sell them if there's enough interest
What sort of cost would I be looking at please?
Where did you get the plans for these pipes?
mostly made up based on the general layout of highland pipes, but the bores are mostly inline with other smallpipes
Man, the music makes hearing you impossible
oi wheres part 2 ? haha
Working on the editing to get it uploaded
@@goldenantlerswoodturning4372 I'm still waiting 😂
@@PIPERJIM2024 I'm sorry to say I lost all the footage for the rest of the project. Going to have to start over and make another set
@@goldenantlerswoodturning4372 No worries, i will look forward to it
Very cool little ornament!
Nicely done!
Gorgeous work!
