My 2003 FL mr2 spyder/Roadster testing out some new uniroyal rainsport 3s. It was a freezing day and they were brand new, and I was impressed! Pressures were 35psi rear and 25psi front. Other mods: Belly Brace Tein Lowering springs Decat manifold Sports muffler Home made induction kit

What induction setup is that please?? Sounds much better!
Thank you, it was a short piece of silicon hose with the maf and cone filter fitted. I did have to butcher the air box up for it to work but it was worth it. Didn't make any noticeable difference to performance but sounded excellent. The hose was probably about 10 inches long and had a 45 degree bend and routed the air filter down towards the air intake on the side of the car to make sure it had plenty of fresh cold air.

Hi the problem was the fuel pump, it was an expensive fix to be honest
sometimes they have a gauze filter under the injector feed banjo that cloggs up with shit
Hi, I’ve sold the car more than a year ago but my problem was that the wiring plug to the pump was corroded which caused it to go in limp mode every once and a while. Was a stupid and easy fix.

We tour all across Europe in ours, I have a factory fitted T.T.E kit with the twin tail pipes and although it does not sound quite as good as yours, I love the exhaust note, especially on the overrun. Strangely enough the French and Italian drivers love it almost as much. The admiring looks and thumbs up we get never cease. A Frenchman asked me if it was fast, I replied "not especially but it sticks like shit to a blanket" his puzzled look told me I had to translate. The smile on his face as he comprehended my comment was priceless.
That sounds awesome, I'd love to go do a big road trip in mine 🙂 It sounds somewhat different now, in the process of building something I've never had before!
@@JM-ss8cb We have been doing it for 17 years now, the last four in the MR2. I have worked out a niffty luggage solution which means we can carry all her make up, as many pair shoes as she wants and I get to pack my stuff in the ash tray as we are non smokers. Send me a PM and I will show you what I have done ( removed it from TH-cam because some wierdo was Trolling my wife and she featured)
I've just bought a 2004 MR2 last week for (I think) a bargain price of £1100. Such a fun little car! I've had loads of faster cars, more powerful cars, more practical cars, but at the moment my budget is tight. Once I get an induction kit for mine, it'll be just about perfect for me for now. Wish I still had my Corolla T Sport with the VVTLI engine to swap in. I sold the car for less than the engines seem to sell for 🙄
They are awesome little cars! Literally all you need for the British roads, a few handling modifications and they are the most fun car I've ever driven 😁

@@rossgoodwin2700 I've noticed that. Unfortunately I don't have the car anymore. I noticed the same thing with my immaculate 2003 blobeye Impreza WRX which I bought it for £4500 when it was 10 years old and 60k miles. Find a mint low mileage one for that price now.

ItsLaZo I'm running 25psi front and 35psi rear. Quite happy with that for now, but want to add some weight to the front and maybe change it again. I have no spare wheel in there, so I'm going to drop a bag of sand or something in for the time being. I added my dumbells a while back and liked it, and that was without any of the other handling mods and on old cheep tyres.
What exhaust and induction set up do you have?
patrick robinson It's an induction kit I made using a 'ram air' cone filter and some silicone hose. I routed it from the throttle body to behind the battery so cold air cold feed it from the side vent. The exhaust was a custom job from infinity exhausts near Bristol. It's a straight through type sports muffler with a single exit, and a Toyosport manifold from eBay. I reckon it does go a little better than standard, and completely changed the driving experience with just the sound alone 😉

patrick robinson Probably will at some point, I've fitted a few handling modifications so it drives actually quite a bit better than it did from this video now

patrick robinson Totally, I've owned an MX5 before and I think I prefer the MR2 in terms of how it feels on the road. Good idea, maybe I'll post a video once the weather clears up a bit 👍
