Austin Bluffs Open Space NEW BLACK DIAMOND TRAIL DAY!!
มุมมอง 747ปีที่แล้ว
In the Austin Bluffs/ Pulpit Open Space a new DOWNHILL ONLY trail was recently created! The Builders did a fantastic job and made a technical work of art that should be ridden with caution as the trail is still fresh and not fully packed in or done yet, but still a hell of a ride. GoPro effect in full swing as some of those rock rolls were nearly straight down, advanced riders only!
Trestle Bike Park, Top to Bottom Full Run September 2022

The day after Labor Day we hit Trestle and were fortunate enough to have the whole park basically to ourselves! While the other two took a quick break at the bottom I got in a full speed run down the whole mountain!
Epic Cheyenne Canyon Ride
มุมมอง 1772 ปีที่แล้ว
This ride I pretty much follow the 2021 Pikes Peak Apex Stage 3 course and really forgot how much climbing this stage was. As if it wasn't hard enough I had to go and make it even harder by adding another ~24 miles on top of it. My strava says I ended with 6,435 ft of climbing, but my Trailforks says 8,910 ft of climbing. Not really sure which one is right, the phone GPS that had no signal a go...

Another Hometown Epic
มุมมอง 1793 ปีที่แล้ว
I head out on another solo epic ride through Cheyenne Canyon this time. Haven't done a ride this big in a while so I was paying for it towards the end but it was all worth it. Ended the ride with 45.6 miles and 4,330 ft of elevation gain.
Pikes Peak Apex Stage 4 - Cheyenne Canyon
มุมมอง 1263 ปีที่แล้ว
The last stage of the 2021 Pikes Peak Apex took off from America the Beautiful again like stage 3 did the day before. We went up High Drive, which after 3 days of some epic riding was a killer climb. We went down the lower part of Captain Jacks and made our way to the columbine trail. After traversing up that trail and making it up Buckhorn cutoff started the final run for the whole Apex.
Pikes Peak Apex Stage 3 - Gold Camp
มุมมอง 1453 ปีที่แล้ว
Stage 3 of the 2021 Pikes Peak Apex was a long slog up Gold Camp road, pretty sure it used Foresters Trail from Frosty shortcut to link up to New Jones Park and Captain Jacks for the descent. Another hell of a ride.
Pikes Peak Apex Stage 2 - Mt. Herman
มุมมอง 1393 ปีที่แล้ว
Stage 2 of the 2021 Pikes Peak Apex took off early Friday morning from Monument, CO and went up and behind Mt. Herman. We split off when we hit 315 Forest rd and then up 314 Forest rd till Lovell Gulch. A quick loop there and back down the road brought us to Balanced Rock rd where we descended into Limbaugh Canyon. All was fine till we hit that 12% grade for about a mile which became hike a bik...
Pikes Peak Apex Stage 1 - Palmer Park
มุมมอง 1913 ปีที่แล้ว
Almost 1 year ago we were out hiking around Palmer Park when I saw these signs for this race that was coming up soon. After going home and researching it I knew I had to sign up for the one next year. Well that long awaited time has come and here is my best shot at a professional level race.
Slaughter Pen Trails in Bentonville, AR, Last Full Day Part 1
มุมมอง 403 ปีที่แล้ว
We finally get to check out most of what the Slaughter Pen Trail system has to offer in Bentonville, AR on our Second Full day of our 2021 road trip. This part 1 is only the morning till about the afternoon, where we went back in to town for some awesome sushi for lunch.... but the adventure doesn't stop there!!!
Slaughter Pen Trails in Bentonville, AR, Last Full Day Part 2
มุมมอง 213 ปีที่แล้ว
So after an awesome lunch we went back to the Slaughter Pen Trail System and ventured further back to the north skill park. We had spent about a full day here and still didn't get to see half of the trails this place has to offer! Definitely worth going back with more time and exploring all that they have!!!
Solo Palmer Park loop at Night!?
มุมมอง 1463 ปีที่แล้ว
I check out one of my favorite riding spots at night. Palmer Park has a lot to offer in different levels of riding so you can make it a hard or an easy path depending on how you're feeling. I decided to toss all of it into the mix and see how it rides in the dark, and it was a wild and amazing experience. Will definitely being doing this again and hopefully I can figure how to make the video a ...
First time around the Falcon Trail on the United States Air Force Academy
มุมมอง 1953 ปีที่แล้ว
I take a solo trip around the famed Falcon Trail on one of the hottest days of June 2021. Due to Covid restrictions they don't seem to let a whole lot of civilians on the base anymore but they always leave the gate open to get through via the Santa Fe trail. It makes for a longer ride but it was totally worth it to check out this awesome trail. I went during the hottest part of the day and as m...
Neat little bike park tucked away in Castle Rock, Rhyolite Bike Park
มุมมอง 8483 ปีที่แล้ว
At the Quarry Mesa Open Space in Castle Rock, Colorado is a cool little bike park called Rhyolite. Not very big, but there are some good jumps to work on your skills or a nice easy trail around the whole park that also leads to the top of the mesa for some pretty awesome views of Castle Rock.

Looks super fun, and cool that Austin has something like that. Looks more like a double blue for the most part, but then again I ride in Vegas, Utah and AZ where the trails are very steep, mean, narrow and nasty.

I'm very interested to get feedback on your bars setup! I'll be in COS starting Friday the 9th. Hitting as much as possible including Trestle on Friday 6/16. Also going to be moving back to COS by end of year.

I have rods and screws in my back from an accident almost 10 years ago. The standard geometry on all mountain bikes kills my back after 2 or 3 hours, so I went with riser bars on all my bikes to help sit up a bit straighter. I also found that with the bars higher, I can get back behind them farther when pointing it down really steep terrain and have more confidence overall.

Thank you! That one and the one after it that stopped me were the two most technical parts in my opinion. If you go to pikespeakapex.com, under the about tab at the top, look for stage 1 2021 course info and check out the map they have near the bottom of the page. You can also pull it up on your phone through the browser if you are out riding it and get lost, that's how I did it the first time.
