When Will The Blues Leave ?

Very nice guitar solo on this Ornette Coleman's blues. Here is the transcription of Gilad's guitar solo : www.jazzzeitung.de/jazz/2008/03/abgehoert.shtml
❤
Nagyon finom!!!! Kiváló gitár zene.
This is so smooooth. Good grief the whole trio is locked in so tight.
Dios miooooo que locuraaaaaa
a so underrated ...but a sooooo talented guitarist !!!!!
I met Elek in Las Vegas back in the 80’s. He was playing in Wayne Newton’s band. My band mate Butch Baldassari discovered him by accident when he went to look at some violins he had for sale. They ended up recording two duets on Butch’s first solo album, ‘What’s Doin’. Because he had a record deal in the works he wouldn’t let Butch use his name and is credited as Mr Elbak. He was a Hungarian Gypsy and was encouraged to move to the USA by Dizzy and Ray Brown. He was working on a record for Concord Jazz that never materialized. Saw him play several gigs on violin with a first rate rhythm section. He was astounding.
This is the record he played two tracks on. th-cam.com/video/Jgh0an0I2OQ/w-d-xo.html
Le chorus le plus créatif jamais enregistré sur Nuages, qui se libère de l'influence de l'immense et indépassable Django.
His album Bird and Diz was the first I heard of him playing bebop violin like no one I had ever heard and still have not.
Tout simplement SUBLIME !!!!
Discovered him today. Great player, should be far better known and mentioned among the greats. Reminds me of Django Reinhardt, very cool, but I see he was actually Django's cousin, explains a lot :-)
His musical talent was flowing like water!
What a fantastic sound!
un grand trop discret dans l'histoire d ela guitare jazz quelques belles participation sur un des premiers Gainsbourg
3:27 'It could happen to you' quote, brilliant!
my names elek!
Couldn't agree with you more on him being the most overlooked jazz guitarist of all time. I may be wrong, but I believe there are a lot of jazz guitarist the world over that have never even heard of him and if they did I think he would begin to get the respect he should and be able to share some of the limelight that his iconic cousin will forever hold.
eccezionale
This is the best!
Man, I love Elek. One of the most overlooked jazz guitarists ever. He had (esp. on this record) such a unique, European take on jazz. It was cool (a la Miles' Kind Of Blue), it swung like crazy and his tone and phrasing are totally "his". Viva Elek!
