Well if an MBA Degree can help you become rich or run a business smoothly, you must be living off in a fool's paradise. Training from a polytechnic or another specialized institute might be helpful, but risk-taking per se and managing timely returns is a completely different trait, which not everybody possesses. Hence, entrepreneurship is a God Given gift which can be polished but not forefully inserted into the human DNA.

Japan used to be a shining role model for many advanced capitalist economies. Alas, that is no longer the case, as it has mismanaged its exchange rate parity with the other trading currencies, especially the USD$, and the window credit policies that led to its downfall. So much speculative credit went into stocks and property that an asset price bubble developed leading to overvaluation and sudden sell-off crashing the markets. But, the exchange rate which was forcefully manipulated by other G-7 Economies and the USA in particular to reduce the trade surplus, to make Japanese exports less competitive was the straw that broke the camel's back. Do read the Plaza Agreement Accord of 1985. Japan is a case study of how right can go wrong if economic policy is incorrect.

Loved Splash, still do, this was one of the first hit musicals I saw as a small kid in the 80's! I remember begging my mum/dad to take me s when I saw it advertised to see a theatre and for the cast recording saw it when I was 5 in Summer of 1986 was 5. I remember meetin gDavid Essex, Sinitta, + Frank Finlay, + stil have the merch my dad ought for me and what he got. First musical I ever saw was Robi Hood + his Merry men when I wa 12 months old-don't remember nothing of it but the first one I do have memories of was seeing Snoopy-The Musical when I was 3 + half in Winter of 1984. Then after Snoopy-The Musical became a theatre buff saw other hit musicals/plays- Starlight Express, Cats, Les Mis, Dave Clark's "Time", Chess, 42nd Street, Miss Saigon, Blood Brothers, Run For Your Wife, Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap”, etc 😀

ITV Schools: Geography Today - Sunshine Miners, Channel 4, date unknown 3.2.25 0020am sunshine miners? hmmmmm... gulliver's travels and trying to extract light from cucumbers, perhaps... ? yyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwn.... any shows other than geography now? incidentally, i watched gulliver's travels (starring ted danson and that burd Mary Steenburgen... nice lady...very nice lady, i must say) and it's worth seeing. as for mining - it has had it's day. hundreds and hundreds of years redefining the nation's landscape and we find it might be best creating cleaner and greener fuels to burn. you can hardly berate south amerian nations and asiatic sub continental Indian greed when your own folk have engaged with this kindda rape and pillage of the land. and still do - refer to Ramsbottom moor... if you wanna go and take a look and protest..

The episode Sunshine Miners did aired on the 29th of October and the 22nd of October 1992 and that off air recording of ITV Schools on Channel 4 could have been on those dates even those that episode is from 1991, because TV Schools upload a part of that episode on his youtube channel

with dates shown about coal 1989/1990 is sure around the date,

BBC1 Daytime Live 30/10/1990 (part 2) 31.1.25 1833pm where was part 1? shows you how far my life has progressed - sat in front of tv circa 1990 watching kilroy.... sat in front of telly 2025 watching a bit of vine... pebbe mill.....? jeeeeeeeeeeez.... the last vestige of sadowitz seems to haunt that place. maybe they should bring it back - as an antidote to the b.s regards the mass of quiz shows and antique bollox that currently clogs the airwaves?

Was the first half of this programme on the tape too? I was one of the children in that part, recorded at Anglia TV's Magdalen Street studios in Norwich (the same studios they used for "Sale of the Century"!)

great find, years are around about that, and a snippet of 4 schools at end.

Used to love watching this with Sue Robbie, a worthwhile challenger to Blockbusters with the money won going to charity, then Richard Madeley came along with a version featuring adult contestants which was awful.

The Sooty Show and Cockleshell Bay both began a new series on Tuesday 08 April 1986, and the trailer for Nature Watch which began on Monday 07 April appears to place much of this video from that day.

Blast from the past!

Phase 2 of the 'Social Contract' ran from July 1976 - July 1977. As they are talking about a Phase 3 from "next August" that would suggest this was recorded some time during those two dates. 'Tonight' seems a likely candidate as I believe 'Midweek' and 'The Sunday Debate' both ended in 1975.

I always used to zone out listening to the continuity tunes, by the time the lesson started I was in no fit state.
