Multiple MIDI files as tracks to MPC
Two super simple and quick solution to the problem of using MIDI files as tracks on the MPCs.
1. Using a DAW (Logic in my case)
2. Using an on-line converter.

It wouldn't be TH-cam if I didn't add the standard video description:
"This video will change your life!
The stuff THEY don't want you to know!
Share with 1000 people for eternal happiness!
Funny cats, rabbits AND puppies!"

TAG, Modular live.

Minimal techno, dark live set. Driven by Octatrack clock, with BIA, 0-coast and DFAM doing most of the work. Visualised with VUO. Download from Souncloud: soundcloud.com/vrais-le-faux/tag-21-12-2019-m1
Live modular techno, Funky Town Halloween Party 2019
มุมมอง 2105 ปีที่แล้ว
Live modular, minimal techno set at MAO Chengdu. Main equipment used: Octatrack, 0-Coast, DFAM, Plaits, Chord 2, plus FX and CV processors of sorts. Sequenced using Octatrack, Pulsar and Steppy.
「unruhe」- downtempo by the pool.
มุมมอง 775 ปีที่แล้ว
Played as 「unruhe」. A modular synth live downtempo, ambient set, recorded live at at a pool party, July 2019. 99% live modular, sampled piano, some atmos recorded and replied from an iPad.
Snippet two from a live show at NUSpace in Chengdu.
มุมมอง 1106 ปีที่แล้ว
Audio: www.mixcloud.com/_unruhe_/nuspace-chengdu-live-modular-techno/ The entire, 2 hours' performance was 100% improvised, using a very small modular setup. Drum sounds were sampled and replayed from the Octatrack. Video and sound recorded by Hise.
VCV + Octatrack

Octatrack driving the VCV. Same would apply to the Digitakt. Sorry about the ugliness of the vid, but it was a quick job in response to a question by another user.
Analog Four (MKI) - Manual Looping of envelopes and playing long notes
มุมมอง 13K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Full manual control over restarting the envelopes beats simple envelope looping. Layer the two envelopes with re-triggered LFOs for massive drones and sequences. Also, how to - long notes on A4 and AK. Apologies for the jello camera every time I touch the box - a flexible phone holder is obviously not designed for video.

    You can bring them in as separate sequences and then merge all the sequences into a single sequence, then delete the sequences that had the individual tracks, then move the sequence you merged them all into to sequence 1, then delete the sequence you just copied. It sounds convoluted, it isn't. There is another option, you can add a midi directly to a track, but I only know how to do this on the hardware, not in MPC software.

      Thank you. Unfortunately (not for me) the only piece of Elektron gear I have and will never part with, is the Octatrack and it had been covered by people with more knowledge than me. I'll be doing some show and tell on modular gear.

    Hi, nice job and congrats in your first video. I watched to the end :) "Trigless trigs" are an essential part of the Elektron experience, at least in my opinion. Are you going to upgrade to a mkII A4 when they come out? I am not sure TBH.

    • @iqnill
      @iqnill 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks your your comment. I've been crazy-busy, but I have a few ideas for more short vids on the trigs. I think that in an ideal case I would upgrade. The multiple outputs would be the main reason. I always found age A4 to be a little bit "polite" in terms of the sounds and being able to externally process each sound would be fantastic. Yes, I could have bought the AK, but I travel a lot and it's just too big for me. I'll see how my finances are and decide later.

    Looking at the Analytics it would seem that no one has gone as far into the video as far as round 5:15 where I touch on playing very long sustained notes (way more that 64 beat) on A4.

    will it play the same envelope pattern that you created with the sequencer steps when pressing a key? I mean when playing a chord using keyboard for example, will this envelope pattern remain?

    • @iqnill
      @iqnill 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it relies on the trigs to do that.

  • @monoseq9797

    thanks very much for this! I've had mine 3 years now I think and I love how there's always something new to explore. a truly wonderful and deep machine. mine will be with me until to the end i think! thanks again!

    • @iqnill
      @iqnill 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elektron machines are a never ending discovery. Just a few days ago I discovered something on the Octatrack that I've never seen or read about (or just missed of course)

    • @monoseq9797
      @monoseq9797 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ooooh, please could you make a video on that too? There's still lots I don't understand with the octatrack but even so, since day one I've been able to make the music in my head a reality with these machines!

    • @iqnill
      @iqnill 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That one is very simple. Double tap a track and you will see which sample is loaded. Hold FUNCTION and hit arrow left or right - It will load the next or previous sample in the same folder. If you set up you samples in order, you can change them in progression. This obviously doesn't affect the trigs.

    good idea mate! next time i would prepare the real practical example for the usage of this technique (the Drones) and let the people hear it directly. because this is very well thought out - just not so nicely presented ;-) anyway - its a great start for your channel already and very good for your first video! keep it up - we need much more tutorials like this with people actually THINKING about what they want to achieve! great work !!!

    • @iqnill
      @iqnill 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was mindful of the time and showing the how-to is probably enough to get anyone started. Maybe I should one with an example of my drone and what can be done.
