Mein Herr Marquis | Johann Strauss | GERMAN PRONUNCIATION | DICTION | TUTORIAL
Welcome to this super helpful pronunciation tutorial! If you're a singer who's ready to master the trickier parts of German lyrics, especially in the aria “Mein Herr Marquis” (or “Adele’s Laughing Song”), then you're in the right place.
“Die Fledermaus” (The Revenge of the Bat ) composed by Johann Strauss II, is a classic operetta, and this aria is one of its most playful moments. I had a lot of fun making this video, especially during the “Ha Ha Ha” laughing sections-I hope you’ll enjoy those too!
Now, I recommend watching at least the first three and a half minutes, but trust me, you’ll want to stay till the end. Grab yourself a cosy cup of coffee or tea, sit back, and see this as your own personal German language lesson (and the best part? It’s free!).
Whether you’re pursuing a classical singing degree or just getting started, nailing your German pronunciation will give you that extra edge. Let’s make your performance unforgettable!
