The official guide from Raise3D is here: www.raise3d.com/pages/bed-leveling-instruction This guide is intended as a supplement and to provide a theoretical foundation for people interested in leveling their beds. Procedure starts at 4:45. Sound on this video is terrible, I apologize but I'm not willing to record it again. :)
Basic 3D Scanning with the Einscan SE
มุมมอง 19K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Do you have a model you want to test-scan on the Einscan? Get in touch. In this video, I wanted to show what it's like to scan an object end-to-end with this low cost 3D scanner. I also wanted to share some tips and tricks on how to scan better. The text features on this object are pretty small. The line width is .5mm and the height of the text is .4mm. So the result I'm getting is pretty impre...
Connect wires fast with WAGO nuts
มุมมอง 2.1K7 ปีที่แล้ว
WAGO 222 lever nuts are a very fast, safe, and versatile way to hook things up. They also work great in places where you cannot easily solder. I also use them to make fast prototyping tools, like quick-attach power cords and switches.

Procunier Type 1E Tapping Head Guts
มุมมอง 12K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Recently bought a tapping head to finish a job. After receiving it, I was left with a lot of questions about how it works and how to care for it, so I made a quick video on what I've learned so far.
Which drill bit should be used to make a 2.5mm hole in perplex glass
I love you ! Thank you for understandable info and explanation! ❤❤❤
And the hook is pointing up when you insert?
Why plastic?
Great video! Answered all my questions. Thanks
Appreciate it!
I worked in a plastic fab shop for a few years. We bought those black oxide cheap drill bits from Harbor Freight. Knocked the cutting edge of the bit off on the bench grinder where it will produce a scraping action. Clamp or use double back tape to support the back side with a piece of wood. No tear out or cracking
appreciate the tips
Is thick acrylic easier to do
yes
Simply use a sharp step drill or a flat face spur bit. Also using air pressure keeps the acrylic cool and melt free. Slower is better than wide open and go gentle with your feed rate! Forstner bits are not good for acrylic or flat paddle bits, BTW. Actual acrylic bits are shaped like he shows but not ground that way lol. Break through needs to be super controlled as he shows.
I don’t recall ever seeing glasses frames made of nitinol.🤨 If you walk on streets that are regularly serviced by street sweeper, you will likely find the steel bristles make very good lock picks.
terimakasih pak
So you started off your lockpicking journey by breaking in to a lock that wasn't yours and was in use, the first two things lpu says not to do. Got it. "Vice" has two meanings (three in the UK). I'm seeing which one you're referring to.
lol
OSHA Not Approved! 👍🏼
Thank u Not OSHA!
@@ViceChief if you have a plastic clipboard and want to keep the board and loose the clip, how would you do it without ruining the plastic board?
@@JustineWiniker how is the clip attached?
@@ViceChief rivets
@@JustineWiniker drill the rivets out
You’re correct sir. Picking locks is not difficult. Like any learned skill set it just takes a little practice. It’s also amazing what you can do with a pick gun and a proper bump set.
So…. Assuming someone sees this extremely useful video after making a few cracks on holes in acrylic, any tips on fixing cracks?? 😊
I've heard of people filling them with the liquid form of acrylic cement, but have never done it myself.
@1:23 I disagree that's how babies are made. 😉😊🤭
Tension reach go clockwise or counterclockwise??
the little outro is so intentional and sick
Hell of a compliment from a man who would know!
Do i have to have a surface beneath where I am drilling into when drilling acrylic? Or can the acrylic hang off of a surface and I drill from there without the wood underneath?
If you drill without a supporting surface underneath, it tends to crack around the hole as the drill breaks through.
@@ViceChief okay, thank you!😊
Thank you, I needed that
Works brilliantly well...Great tutorial.
I have tried acetone to clear spray glue nozzles several times but to no avail. I will try washing up liquid next but am not holding my breath. Shame as these cans are so expensive and they are still full but won't spray.
Huh, it works well for the 3M adhesives I use. A next-level solvent would be methyl ethyl ketone. I wonder if you need an ultrasonic bath or to simply leave them in the solvent for a much longer time.
Excellent audio, video and narration! Just subscribed. Cheers -Kirb
of course they are clean holes, you used soap for a lubricant......cheers, good information
Awsome tips!
Yall cheatin Like Chris Angel....
Did you have any other padding or mattress topper before getting the turbo nap? If you just compare comfort is this as good or better than mattresses like Hest , or Megamatt.
Before the TurboNap I have only used the original GFC mattress with custom super soft flannel covers. Although I repeatedly asked on instagram and the GFC forums, no one who owned a Hest or other padding would meet with me to make the comparison. So the video is basically about old GFC mattress VS GFC TurboNap.
@@ViceChief thanks. The review I'm looking for is someone that thinks the original Mattress is not comfortable then bought a more comfortable mattress that they really liked and will tell me that the turbo is just as good if not better. I'm willing to pay the price to get the functionality of the movable floor back but if it's not as comfortable as my current mattress I don't care about functionality. Thanks for your review though it was very informative
@josephmyers64 I use a megamat and looking for the same review.
@ViceChief what area are you located? I'm in southern California. Trying to find someone who will let me compare the new foam. There's a shop in San Diego but it's 2 hours away.
5 year old video and still useful as ever. Thank you!
hell yes thanks for the feedback! i guess acrylic will always drill the same, huh. cheers and good luck on your projects!
Thank you for the information man
can i use a nail drill for acrylic nails? theres no way i can get my hands on this huge equipment. would it work without breaking it?
You can defnitely drill acrylic nails since acrylic is just plsic, but usually they have a special rotary tool or use a Dremel tool. You don't need these giant tools, they make tiny drills for dremel tools and also "burrs" which are tiny grinding tools that can shape the nails.
This video has reassured me, i bought a step drill for metal but was worried about the acrylic part, turns out im good to go🫡
I followed his advice and it worked. No chips, no problems. Thanks TH-camr!
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for reporting back.
Wow, I was doing literally almost all the wrong things. I was using a very old master lock no3 with two paper clips for my wrench and pick, also I was thinking I had to push the pins out of the cylinder. Thanks for the tips! It sucks how my parents won’t let me get a beginner kit because they think I will become a criminal. All I want to do is solve it like a puzzle!
Very glad this was able to get you over those beginner misconceptions. I had them too.
@@ViceChief yea thanks! Now all I need is a reliable tool and a new lock.
ive been practising for like 50 minutes and cant even pick the beginner see through lock
Great video. WTF were these guys thinking.....
It wasn't great, but, the machine was released like 8 or 9 years ago... design has moved on :)
I was thinking of buying a used one but your video convinced me not to. @@ViceChief
@@almonster2066 I have three of them... good workhorse printers but not as nice as modern stuff. if you're going to buy used it could be worth it if it was a very good deal.
if it's to act as lubricant, would it have the same effect as WD40?
Sure does look comfy! That slap test was definitely hands down awesome...😂 Fit and finish looks top notch. So true about just making the move and upgrading. Other wise you end up with lots of bed pads... Wife picked up one of the REI Helix pads super nice but you still have to air it up. Then she picked up a Gialoop (memory foam pad) and she loves that. But heck, it's bigger than both our sleeping bags. At least I got the hand me down REI pad. Which rocks in the GFC making it easy to fold back because of the over all shape. Plus the R4.9 rating isn't bad for our winter camping on the East Coast. It sure would be nice not to have to carry 2 more things on each Adventure 😊 🛻+⛺️=🙂 Mark (& Teresa) Hampstead Maryland • Purpose Built Adventure Rig © • Ford Ranger FX4 - GFC Camper V2 #1919 • Kia Soulverlander •
It's funny you say you end up with lots of aftermarket pads... because also when you buy the Turbo Nap you're left with your old covers and old foam! Feels like there has to be a smart way to reuse those somehow, tho I haven't thought of it. Your winter camping is definitely a level or two up from mine. I'm originally from North Dakota so I know what real cold is, and we basically don't get that out here on the West Coast. Seems like the less stuff the better and I'm always looking for things I can leave behind. My setup is pretty modest but even so there are still ways to reduce. Subscribed to your channel - pleased to meet ya and excited to see more GFC related content.
@ViceChief LOL so true well said with the old bedding. We love the winter camping. Main to reasons or no people except those that are just as crazy as us or frineds...(East Coast has limited placed to camp and winter is the best time to grab them) Second reason No Bugs! I did want to tell you I found you from your comment on MAV_Adv Turbo review. I also wanted to let you know I like your video editing/story telling style. So different then everyone else these days. With that being said I sure hope you'll do more content. Also cool to see you have a GFC lock pin holder. I have to get back on the GFC forum. I was on the FB Owners group until some troll slammed me nonstop. So pulled the plug when no action was taken. Just don't have time for Brokenmen Syndrome. We sharing in all the joy and happiness. I subbed so better stop playing fabricating and get out and show us some more camping! Or else...LOL Mark (& Teresa) Hampstead Maryland • Purpose Built Adventure Rig © • Ford Ranger FX4 - GFC Camper V2 #1919 • Kia Soulverlander •
You can also buy acrylic bits that are already sharpened to this pointy tip. I find that you don't need a set since you are generally drilling only a few different sized holes in plastic. This is the same as buying left hand drill bits to remove broken screws, you only need a few sizes.
Yeah but $699 for a mattress not possible. Especially since I just bought my GFC in Feb
I hear you. That's a lot of money no matter how you slice it. Got mine at the end of Jan BTW, ordered the year before. For what it's worth, I do product development for a living, and grew up sewing - if you add up the cost of foam, zippers, spray glue, webbing, thread, you'd be in for $300-400, especially using domestic materials. Then you gotta spend the time to sew it. Doesn't make the price any lower, I know. Like I said in the video, I'm looking at it as investing in better sleep. Only takes a few nights out before it's cheaper than any hotel room, with a much better view.
I understand the costs and the declining value of money. I also understand the market for the upgrade, which is those of us who were unfortunate enough to be in the first gen of the mattresses. I’ve already spent significant money “upgrading” the sleeping arrangement in my GFC. I’m old and it had to be done after the first sleepless nights on the god awful original. One potential solution is a graduated pricing structure to help those of us who recently purchased our camper but apparently with growth comes new ethics as I’m seeing across the board with this company. With all that said, the new setup is an improvement that adds value to the GFC and they are a business not a charity. But it is in their best interests to take care of the customers to ensure future sales and company viability @@ViceChief
Thanks for This very important video ❤
This is awesome, can you speak to the pro’s of the stone grey color choice (as opposed to the GFC yellow?)
Are you happy with the choice of the grey?
@@GarrettWatts I recommend joining the GFC forum - I posted quite a bit about color there in my (very long) build thread. Bottom line, the only thing I like about stone grey is that it's less "loud". I wanted something less conspicuous. If I could go back I would get the bright orange tent, because there's really no hiding a truck with a GFC on top, and the orange tent is bright and cheerful inside.
I thought the clue to drilling brittle plastics was to use as many RPM's as possible and go slow.
The algorithm sent me to you..... 6 year old video..... and its still the best I've ever seen.... literally, this video is the best most helpful I've EVER seen for a 3d scanner.... I know its 6 years later but I'll give a suggestion anyway.... Go ahead and scan a G. I. Joe Man... I have some old ones that I used to play with when I was a kid and I'd love to give them to my son... even though they are almost indestructible I still broke some and would need to mirror an arm or two, redo the torso on a couple, replace, feet/legs.... not only scanning though, the 3d printing part from that scan, too, please <3. LIked, shared, commented, subscribed <3
Hey thanks! I still use this thing, but probably won't be making any more videos about this one specifically. Cheers and good luck with your project - sounds cool!
a laser cutter works well to.. and you are not limited to circular holes
very true, just limited somewhat in thickness (over 1/2" pretty much out of the question)
Thank you for sharing these tips! What's your thoughts on a "Plastic Drill Pack"? I feel a lot more confident about drilling into the flanged of an acrylic dome for mounting.
Just use a step bit. Easy.
Fish tape
Ooh, good one.
I used to smack the combination locks at school with the sole of my shoe and pop them
Ive been on a hour now trying to open this practice lock lol and that is after taking a 15 minute break to calm my hands. I"m not hearing any clicks.
Try increasing or reducing the pressure you are putting on the tension wrench. Can you feel the pins moving freely up and down, or do they feel very stuck? Sometimes the practice locks are made so badly that they are deceptive. But I would try working on your tension wrench pressure first and foremost.
@@ViceChief I figured out why, the tension wrenches are so weak they weren't able to move the lock, I grabbed a toe nail clipper and used that and it worked lol. eh the kit was cheap, i just needed a few more dollars to get free shipping on amazon lol. But I still don't hear any clicks. I can see the pins moving up and down but they just go back to where they were. I'm going to get a real lock.
