Great job with the bespoke mahogany grips, they give the pistol some nice colour. Thanks for posting.
These are the most cheapest and expensive guns you can buy once you start the mod process. These are also the simplest yet most beautifull pistols you can have once tou finish modding them. Awesome pistols. I'm 350 into mine and not done yet . Plus the other ones in my collection 1322 1377 2240 moded and a 2240 shorty I'm working now.
Is that a bolt action pistol? It looks neat.
Yes it's a nice pistol, it's been around for many years.
I have my most recent 2240 tuned to a high of 467 fps and low of 331 fps across 35 shots on single 12g co2. But it took some tweaking of the parts and assembly. I've tried using an adjustable hammer spring twice now on 2 different guns and both times it caused more issues than helped, so I ditched it and only use a custom spring. Hole matching the barrel and valve to the transfer port also helps, but make sure the probe fully seats against the barrel when assembling or you will lose power. Its a fun gun to tinker with but has limits. Similar to a 1322 in fun and tinker factor. I also polished mine but yours looks much more buffed out chrome like. Nice job.
Thanks for the information,I will try some different modifications now I've got a chronograph 👍🙂
Thanks for the video, Craig. It's always nice having something to watch on my lunch break.👍🏻
Thank you
That's looking like a very nice pistol now, Craig. It just shows that with some time, patience, and a little bit of work, you can go from stock, to a very nice custom finish 👍🏻
Thanks it was a nice rewarding project, the power of the pistol is disappointing the green pellets were the best, but having a chronograph is something I will have to use properly ie the distance the temperature with co2 .but I will use my brake barrel so will see if having a chronograph is a down side in sum aspects?🤔✌️
Even with all my mods never get much more than 460 .. MB ..
I would like to a least get 450 , I would be happy with that, how some figures are done I don't understand I've got one more crosman to try the only difference is the steel breach and the power adjuster, that I will have to put back on 🤔
@@Craig59J , I use just Crosman round n pointed pellets but with everything I can do ti upgrade the 2240 .. Everything .. be well MB ..
@@Craig59J , I spent like 400 bucks just on upgrades n made a video on it too ..
@@MegaBait1616 I will watch your video thanks, and all the best to you 🙂👍
A chronograph is a must for me and my channel for pellet and gun testing out of the box.🤠🇺🇸☕️
Thanks Johnny ,I should of got one a long while ago just got to get used to it ie using it most of the time from now on 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hello how are you my dear friend? No problem for the slugs. Am interested to buy this gun mortified. Can you sell me this?
A 2 part liquid compound Using something high speed when buffing out and use a ball hone for the inside of the tube with a fine grit.💯🫡✌️👍👌
Thanks for this video… i’m not sure what i’m getting yet, but i’m wanting a nice looking pistol that’s powerful and legal!…. I’m leaning toward the 2240 Ratbuster basic blister package as a fun plinker but willing to get its hands dirty if there’s any nuisance rats…… Whereabouts in the country are you based Craig i’d say Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire/Norfolk around where the three counties are close together? I might be wrong….. but I lived in a place called Sutton Bridge when I was a kid and thought i’d hazard a guess.
Looks good Craig. Great job my friend 😃
Thank you Rune 🇬🇧🇳🇴😀
Lovely job Craig 👍🏻 She's come up nice, and you did well, getting her done in only two sessions. That will look lovely all polished up, mate.
Thanks it's the first time I've done this so hopefully they will polish up nice 🤞
I can see a lot of "rinse and repeat" in your future Craig. Just persevere, mate, without going too aggressive, and you will get a nice finish. I look forward to seeing the next instalment 👍🏻
Thanks lol ,definitely rinse and repeat .I will take my time 👍
I'm just about to reblue mine😂
I can always re blue if needed. Thanks for your comment 👍
Very nice looking grips 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice video Craig. Sounds interesting. I never removed blueing with vinegar before. I only used saltpeteracid, but its very toxic. Looking forward to your videos. Take care my friend 😃

Not a bad view.🤠🇺🇸
Thanks Johnny 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hi Craig. I like it. Take care and have a nice weekend my friend :)
Thank you my friend 🏴 🇧🇻 👍
Hello Craig. I'm sorry to hear that you have been feeling unwell, mate. The Crosman looks nice with the brass parts, grips and polishing. And that red dot was a good idea too. Top job, mate. 👍🏻
Thank you, I appreciate your nice comment, I take each as it comes, and all the best to you 👍
You and The King Of Bling have something in common modifying guns. He has one that looks very similar.🤠🇺🇸
Thanks Johnny, hope you're doing ok, I did like the glow sticks you used, good for night shooting my friend 🏴🇺🇸👍
Hello Craig. Iam very glad you feel better. Thanks for the shout-out🙏. The 2240 looks great. Good job my friend😃👍
Thank you Rune, I will keep doing what i love when I can kindest regards Craig 🙏🏴🇧🇻👍
The gun you have with tube printed and nicer grips seems to be newer. I just purchased one and its like that. You should find the trigger frame and rear breech screw heads are now all Philips and the trigger cover is now larger hex size. What would be nice is if you determine the front (inside) breech screw is now 1/16" head vs .050". Mine seemed be be this unless the hex head socket was already rounded out from the factory but my 1/16" hex fit down inside the socket perfect.
Thank you for the information very much appreciated 👍
Nice test Craig. Could clearly hear the difference. Take care my friend 😃
Thank you Rune. Just going to have a bit of a rest from TH-cam, as I've said in my email 🏴🇧🇻👍
@@Craig59J Hope you will get better soon. Take care my friend 🙏🙏👍
The first time, it was number 1. The second time, it sounded like number 3. Good video, Craig. You can definitely hear the difference 👍🏻
Thanks I need a better microphone, I will just say with my hearing it did sound a lot quieter 1 and 3 ,number 2 has not got very good baffling inside, not like 1 and 3 ,I should of used my touch last video I done ,thanks for watching 👍
Shot two was the loudest and one was the quieter one.
Thanks Johnny I thought that or 3 , the phone microphone is not the best way to try, but I've given it a go 👍
Should be very noticeable indoors. I lost subscribers for shooting a few feet away from the USA 🇺🇸 flag here in the states.🤠
I've always got the England flag and Norwegian flag up all the time I've never shot at either of them and I never will, 🇬🇧 this is the union jack flag that represents all the UK but the England flag is what some people don't like, my Ancestors have always lived in England ,going way back to the 16th century, so we have 5 flags ie Scotland Ireland Wales UK and England ,but as I said some people think we should have the union jack only, the USA 🇺🇸 has one so that makes life easier, 😀🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
You forgot to mention.....the barrel now is blued and not parkerised/painted. found the quality a bit better on mine.
Hi I am glad yours looks better ,but I will probably just have the chamber powder coated and the main part were the hand grips go , because I've made my own mahogany grips 👍
Nice pistols Craig. I like the look of the new one. They stopped selling the 2240 back in 2019 when a lisence was required to buy one. Now we can only buy cal 177 airguns. Take care my friend and have a nice weekend 😃
Thanks Rune I didn't know that, so you need a license in Norway for the 22 version,,it's the same in Scotland as well I've been told. Take care my friend 🏴 🇧🇻
My son had his co2 chamber, and his suppressor brass finished. Along with his mahogany laminate grips, it's a bit bright for my taste, but it does make the pistol look unique. Cheers for the video Craig 👍🏻
Thanks you for the comment, I am not sure what I will have done at this present time to the crossman , but it is nice to have something a bit different, have a nice weekend 👍
Those same grips came on my 2300S. I swapped them out for the walnut wood grips.🤠
It's the Grips your got on at this present time, they look really nice 👍🏴🇺🇸😀
Very nice kit that I have never seen here in the states.🤠🇺🇸
Hi Johnny, regarding the pro kits I only think there for the UK and Europe only, it is strange that they don't do them in the USA 🤔🏴🇺🇸
Beautiful job with the grips you made. You are a true craftsman. Here in USA the pro kit is not offered for sale. We can choose between the basic pistol and the 2240XL which has the long steel breach and a barrel that has the threaded fitting to accept a suppressor. All of the other bits need to be purchased separately. You can do almost anything you can imagine with all the parts that are available here.
Thank you for your nice comment😀👍
There's a lot of good penetration with those fast alloy pellets. Good test, Craig. Well done, mate.👍🏻
Thank you
I've got over 400 bucks in mine :)
Nice 👍
@@Craig59J ;)
Nice test Craig. Both pistols seems quite powerful💥. Keep up the good work my friend. Cheers from Norway😃
Thank you my friend 😀
I owned on until it was worn out after ten year of use weekly. Awesome self defense 22 cal pellet for home defense. It will cause some serious injury.
Thanks for your comment
Nice video Craig. Great test. It sure hits hard. Take care my friend and happy shooting. Have a nice weekend 😃
Thank you Rune 😀🇸🇯
I think the whole lead vs zinc alloy is just a matter of preference. Some people like the stopping power and distortion of lead, and some prefer the speed and penetration of zinc. You should be fine using the alloy pellets, they won't damage your barrel over time. Great video, cheers mate 👍🏻
Thanks I like the zinc alloy, but they might not work that well in other pistols I have, as you have said it's what works well for other people thank you,
Is it safe to leave your pad?🤠🇺🇸
Well I hope so, but jokes aside the UK 🇬🇧 is getting worse regarding the amount of people from other countries, and they don't want to fit in or simulator to the British culture, your from the good old USA so you must have these things happening over there 🤔, anyway have a good week ahead regards Craig.
Nice Craig. Where to buy the wire? Cheers my friend :)
Hello my friend regarding the strimmer wire from my local hardware, as I mentioned you can get different diameters ,and different colours, but they not all translucent 👍🇬🇧🇸🇯
@@Craig59J Thanks my friend 😃
What a good video Craig, into airguns since 16 and 75now, shot all sorts of stuff, made a special out the pump-up steel breech, stock the full caboodle. Gave it to my big son who sold it years later, wasn't happy about that. ANYWAY, THINKING OF SELLING OFF MY ARMOURY AND going back to basics. at 75 can hardly see 30yds without squinting. Can not find, this pistol on the market at the moment. Maybe see if my old boy at Test valley guns do me a deal, he is a real businessman though, and will probably rip me off. nice one Craig
Thank you for subscribing ,and nice to hear about your experience . Take care and have a good weekend regards Craig. 🙏👍🇬🇧
There's definitely a noticeable difference between the two shots. I find the heavier the pellet gets, the quieter the sound gets with the suppressor Good video mate 👍🏻. Edit; did you buy the .177 or .22 version?
Hi its the 22 version I am pleased with the suppresser, and the tin alloy pellets are good, it's the first time I've tried them 👍
Nice test Craig. The moderators seems to work fine. Its a clear difference in sound. The pistols hits hard and make nice holes in the tincan. Take care my friend and have a great weekend 😃
Thank you Rune, I do like the moderator, and also the tin alloy pellets 😀🙏🇬🇧🇸🇯
I bought one of these for my son about 5 years ago. I'm sure it was less than £100. Since then, he's put on a steel breech and multishot kit, as well as a suppressor and custom grips. It's a cool pistol with loads of available upgrades. That's a good buy, Craig. Love the mahogany grips 👍🏻
Thank you, 👍
Thank you Rune It's a reliable pistol if you look after them, it's like anything in life you have to look after it ,because nothing lasts forever, 🇬🇧🇸🇯😀
Nice video and very good pistols Craig. You have done a super nice job with the grips. Looks cool with the moderator on. I have owned several of the 2240 over the years. Great pistol to work on and modify. Think I got around 12 fpe after drilling the valve and barrel port.
Nice video mate. Tough to find this gun online at the moment in black. You know anywhere that might have it in stock?
Hi I bought it from my local shop in Norwich England I never buy pistols online, hope that helps if you live in England 🇬🇧
