I just found this and im in tears. Thank you for catching and sharing my moment (frontman competition). Can't wait for this year!!!!
You killed it! See you next month!!! 🤘🏽
Great video, very informative. Thanks.
Thanks for the instructions, which I printed out. For me, the trip between the NJ airport and the NY train station took about 45 min-hour because I waited for the NJ Transit train for about 25 min. FYI, taking it on a Thursday afternoon, there was standing room only. Overall great experience!
What about Amtrack? I assume the same steps apply?
No idea. We have never taken the Amtrak. Google says: Amtrak has bigger, nicer trains made for long distance travel. NJ Transit is a commuter rail and the trains are old and rough. NJ Transit is a commuter line with many local stops. Amtrak is an intercity line with very few stops. If you’re concerned with speed, go Amtrak. If you’re concerned with price, go NJ Transit.
@@Castaways_Travel I just made the trip on Amtrak. It goes goes to Moynihan Hall at Penn Station. The trains are way nicer, but infrequent. During Christmas I bought my ticket online because they can sell out during the holidays.
Seeing some people hike with super large backpacks! How did you feel about your backpack size and how much did porters carry?
Good question! We thought our backpacks were okay. If anything they might have even been a little too big for our purposes. Since the porters carry 7kg of weight (or about half of that after your gear rentals) the only thing you really have to worry about is water and snacks that you want immediate access to. Maybe some sunscreen, insecticide and a small first aid kit but nothing that should take up too much room that a small backpack couldn’t handle. I will say having a backpack with a chest strap and opening for a camelbak tube was convenient.
@ that is what I have. Thanks!
Thx!
Very nice video. I visit the Snake Farm every trip to Texas. Always very enjoyable.
Very cool. We will definitely be going back. I can’t believe I’ve been driving past it for 20 years and have never checked it out until now.
Wow that was a lot easier than I expected. Thank you so much
Rustlin Robs alone is worth making the trip here 😂
We literally came up a few weekends ago for a pretzel and trade days 😂
Excellent video! Very, very informative and helpful. Thanks so much!
I saw this video shortly before landing at Newark on Wednesday morning. I thought I was going to have to spend $80 on an Uber but this was last minute lifesaver!
Glad it was helpful! How much are tickets running these days? Sometimes people ask us and I’m like 🤷🏽♂️
@ $16.80 for one way and about a several dollar difference for teens and senior citizens.
@@Dank951 Thanks! Enjoy your trip. I heard it’s gonna be a cold week there 🥶
Landing EWR tom @ 23h & the two of us will be having 6 suitcases of which 2 are hand baggage and rest 4 are check-ins. Do you recommend this route mentioned here or just do a taxi to NYC(destination)? Would there be shuttle services at that hour at EWR? Considering the hour, NJ transit and AIR trains would be much less crowded BUT would it be safe!? TiA!
@ it all comes down to what you’re comfortable with. If you’re comfortable lugging 6 suitcases on multiple public trains at that hour and have the time then go for it. It would definitely be easier to pay for a ride share service but will be more expensive. Might be worth it though. Check the prices for a ride stare service when you get there and make your decision then based on the cost difference and what you’re willing to pay. They might surprise you and be cheaper at that hour. As far as safety goes the air train and NJ transit are probably safer than the metro but it’s all relative. Id say 6 bags is a lot. Not impossible but will probably be challenging. Good luck!
Looks like a super fun trip! Glad yall had a good time.
We may try it again next year to check out the new Dark Universe park opening in May. Looks like it’s going to be pretty cool.
How was the food prepared from the chef?
Magic I think 😂. The chef has his own cooking tent and equipment carried by porters. How he is able to pull of the meals and presentation he does at altitude is nothing short of incredible, but we’d be lying if we said we knew how exactly it was done. The only time we observed the chef in action was during the cooking course.
If you buy a round trip ticket, do you have to go both ways same day?
No. Your NJ Transit roundtrip ticket should be valid up to 30 days from the date of purchase.
Really helpful!!!!
🙏🏽
Very helpful and easy to understand, thank you! ❤
There are two groups on Facebook with that title. Can you say which you used?
Should be the Group. It currently has 80k followers and was created 13 years ago.
I’m getting trauma flashbacks!! I had to hold my sisters hand while watching this. Looks like it’s worth the price. The ET ride looks crazy lol
We might be returning again next year 😬. Haven’t decided yet. I hope they never get rid of ET!!!
I am a huge fan n I can sing alot of her songs n I'm pretty good...hehe😊
I ve anted t meet chris Perez for a long time too. Not because he's famous but because he's a incredibly humble n beautiful person inside n out.n congrats to him on all of his accomplishments ❤🎉😊
Will be travelling to ny next week. Thank u for this guide
You shared that you wish you acclimated longer but never shared how long you spent in Cusco prior to the Inca trail. How many days would you recommend to acclimate before starting? Thanks!
Good question! I think that’s going to depend heavily on the individual though. Unfortunately there’s probably no black and white answer for this one. Some people are affected by it, some aren’t. Some experience it mildly while it wrecks others. It just depends. We landed in Cusco on Saturday night and our trek began on Sunday so we literally spent next to no time acclimating at all. We also didn’t have the luxury of being able to vacation for that many days in 2022, which is another reason our turnaround was so quick. I would say at least 2 days, 3 if you are able - if I absolutely had to place a number on it. Definitely not one night though! If you’re concerned about altitude sickness you may want to ask your doctor about diamox or look into other prescriptions that treat mountain sickness as well. And make sure you grab some coca leaves or gummies before your trek while you’re in town.
@ thanks for the quick response, I’m going in May with Alpaca and thought your video was a great summary!!!
@@AmericanBorn86 You’re welcome. We’re jealous! It’s going to be amazing. We’re literally planning a hiking trip as we speak with friends we met on the Inca Trail. Have fun!
Very helpful!!
How long does it take to travel by train from Newark to NYC ?
In the description. 20-30 minutes.
That's great! Thank you
This video is so incredibly helpful. You answered most of my questions. Where did you store your suitcase while trekking?
We recommend staying at the same place before and after your trek for this reason. We stayed at Hotel El Balcon. It was only a short 5-10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas and the Alpaca Expeditions main office. They stored our luggage for free while we were on the trail.
Trying to plan my first trip to New York and was wondering how to get there from Newark 😄 Thank you for this!!
Beautiful in the fall. You’re welcome. Have a great trip!
Did something change? It’s been a 2-3x years but I used to drive to Mexico and they wouldn’t ask me for ANYTHING…
Passports have been needed to cross into Mexico since 2009. The FFM form has also been in use for decades. Not sure where you crossed or what kind of plates your vehicle had 🤷🏽♂️
The only thing you guys are showing is places to eat. Is there anything else you can do there?
This video is not an all inclusive guide on things to do in Ft Lauderdale, it is suggestions on a few things you can do in Ft Lauderdale on a layover with limited time. We only had 8 hours. 3/6 of our suggestions were not places to eat.
I keep seeing people say you can’t video inside…..so are you able to take pictures inside?
Photos are allowed. Videos are not.
Very cool! I'm going. Located in McKinney so this is going to be so worth the trip. Why show 7up though!? 🤮 It's not Dr. Pepper! 😅
Definitely worth a visit. I think they even have a super hero “Hall of Justice” area that they’ve added since we went. Dr. Pepper and 7up merged in 1986. That bottling exhibit is part of the museum in the building where the soda bar and Make-A-Soda experiences are held.
Asian music with Asian garden
Mexican music with Mexican restaurant
@@Castaways_Travel great music with great restaurants
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you. It looked like the tickets were $30 (back then) to Penn Station. We have 4 people going to mid-east Manhattan so its probably cheaper by Uber or taxi for us.
Great point. The train option is probably cheapest for one or two travelers.
I’m still confused
😂 maybe take an Uber
Get on the Q70 and skip the metro card Or buy the metro card and get the receipt. You probably won't get stopped and checked on the Q70.
Cool
Great video, thanks! They also offers 5D/4N option, any thought on that comparing to 4D/3N? It sounds better on extra time for sightseeing and take easy on the last night hotel stay and taking bus to Machu Picchu instead of hiking in dark early morning? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, that might be a good option if you have the extra time. I felt like the 4D/3N was a good pace though. Challenging but not overly difficult nor too easy. I wish we would’ve had more time to explore Aguas Calientes though. I can’t really speak on the experience of the 5D/4N but I’m sure it’s just as amazing. Either way you’re sure to have a great trek with Alpaca Expeditions. Good luck!
Very informative. Thanks
Great video, Brought back many memories, subscribed
Thanks for watching! Im itching to go back myself. We appreciate the sub!
SCARED! lol, but looks super cool!!! Can't wait for Halloween!! 💀👻
We’re setting up a new 12 foot reaper today. It’s massive! 💀
I’d like to know how much is the AirTran to Penn station?? I’m wondering is the coach express busses are cheaper 😮
The air train is only for and does not leave the Newark airport. The NJ transit goes to Penn Station Newark and Penn Station New York. You’ll have to check their website for prices. We are not affiliated with any public transportation companies. www.njtransit.com/

Can you hide someone in car 🚙?
You can try 🤷🏽♂️. Film it and report back.
That’s awesome but your dress is badass too! I’m gotta get that for my wife She’ll love it
Thanks! We saw it at an Oddities and Curiosities Expo last year and had to have it. It’s definitely a favorite. The name of the booth might be in the video we filmed if you were interested. Spooky Halloween | Halloween Horror Nights 2023 th-cam.com/video/q7nse4h9QYY/w-d-xo.html
@@Castaways_Travel rite on thank you 👍🏼👍🏼 We are actually going to an oddities expo in a few weeks 😂
@@bradbucklin2692 Nice! We checked the video and it’s not in there but we did a little research and the booth/company is called Western Evil. I think the dress is actually on sale right now on their website if you wanna snag it. www.westernevil.com/collections/dresses/products/overlook-hotel-carpet-shining-dress?variant=39863968333910
Great how to, great details, thanks for the guide!
🙏🏽 Thanks for watching! We wanted to put out something that could be consumed quickly but still had good, clear info. We think it turned out pretty good for our first spooky prop project. Can’t wait to set it up for Halloween soon.
Did you take all of your luggage on your back - as I'm noticing large back packs on some hikers. Or do you have a day back and the "sherpas" take one backpack and you take your day packs?
No, we left our luggage at our hotel. Which is why we recommend staying at the same place on the front and back end of your trek. Most places will store your baggage for free while you’re on the trail, especially if you are returning as a guest again. On the trek we each had a small day pack filled with immediate essentials: water, snacks, layers, socks, bug spray etc. The porters can carry up to 7kg of weight for each person. Keep in mind if you rent gear from AE like the sleeping pad, sleeping bag, pillow - it only leaves about half or 3.5kg remaining for your own personal gear of your choosing. And you will not have access to it until you reach your campsite at the end of every day. Hope that helps!
This was really informative - thank you!
My stop is 47st and 7th ave. Thanks for sharing

Name of the song??
The song is called Cielito by Alcones Negros. It is a track that was taken from Epidemic Sound a royalty free music downloading website.
