I don't understand why you let that trout go... Tiger trout is a sterile hybrid ( can not reproduce offspring ) they are a cross between a brown trout and a brook trout... what a waste of a dam good meal... it did no good to let that fish go.... these fish are often raised in hatchery and then released into streems and lakes for sport fishing... they are stocked for consumption and can not reproduce... What a waste of a nice fish...

I literally was looking up rage quitting for fishing, because that's where I have been for the last while. Trying my first year river fishing, trying for steelhead or trout and GRRRRR. I have lost more gear from snags in 2 weeks then I have in 2 yrs of lake fishing. I have switched up to braid now and still want to rage quit LOL, but my stubbornness won't let me. My 15 yr old son said "Well I guess your horseshoe is gone (they always said I had a Golden Horseshoe because lake fishing I have always caught something, even a goby). I was not proud of what I told him to do. I am not buying anything more though. I went and replaced by weights, bought a couple more floats and we'll see. It's very frustrating when fish are literally jumping up 3 feet from you but want nothing of what you are offering and also, river fishing has shown me that some people don't know ettiquette. If I'm on a river with current, please don't come and stand within 15 feet of me thinking that is ok. I need a 45 degree arc because of the current to complete a drift and now I can't (part of the grumpiness is other people too). There I got it all out, that was my grumpiest, glad I'm not the only one :)

In this, you said Rainbows are the strongest fighting trout and that it is fact. I'm going to tell you that you ate 110 percent WRONG. 1. A Rainbow out of that lake in this video will be nowhere near as strong as any trout that has been living in a river, creek, of stream that has a strong current. So the environment that they live in has the most influence on how good of a fighter they are. 2. What they choose to eat also determines how good of a fighter they are. A trout that chooses easy meals like worms, dead bugs, and power bait over bait fish will not be as strong of a fighter as the trouts that choose to chase down and constantly eat bait fish. 3. Water temp and the weather around where that trout is living also determines how good of a fighter the trout is. And now 4. The final fact is that Brown Trout tends to be lbs for lbs the strongest fighting trout. Brown trout tends to move more than any of the other trout. Browns are the most aggressive, and MOST of the time, they will choose bait fish, live bait, and chase artificial lures like spinners over easy meals like power bait, worms, and dead bugs. I live in PA, and they love to mainly stock only those 2 with the occasional Palomino, Tiger. If we want to fish for wild, we have to go to the mountains in most of the state where we have our native fish, the Brookie and you can catch wild Bows, Browns, and Tiger. But being that they mainly stock Bows and Browns, we learned what to fish with if we only wanted Bows over Browns or vice versa. Another way you can tell this is not even looking in the stomach but at the meat of the trout. Browns meat almost always turns red or orange after being in a body of water for a period of time because they choose to eat live bait like fresh water shrimp and crawl dad's. Where as Bows tend to stay white and flaky meat longer because they mostly choose easy meals like power bait and dead bug. Sorry for the novel, but I tried to give in detail the proof that Browns are the strongest fighting trout as far as true breed. I was not including tiger and palomino in this. But the FACT is Browns are the strongest fighting out of the trout family. Another thing that shows this is that it takes more to kill a Brown trout, whereas Bows tend to be fragile. This is also because of how they eat. Browns are a little tougher because they chase their prey more often.
