11 HIDDEN Mazda TIPS and TRICKS You HAVE TO TRY!
มุมมอง 74K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Check out these 12 hidden Mazda features you need to know about in this video! OK, so full disclosure - they're not really "secret", but some of these are buried deep in the owner's manual, making it annoying to find them. To me, that makes them kind of hidden if you don't read the owner's manual in its entirely, like a car geek like me lol. Luckily, you can just watch this video to learn all a...

In this video, I'll take an honest look at the Mazda 3 and determine if its features are truly as impressive as they claim to be. From safety features to technology to performance, I'll weigh the pros and cons and give you my honest opinion. If you're considering purchasing a Mazda 3, this video is a must-watch. I'll break down the most talked about features and help you decide if this car is w...
Used to take my car to Krown for years only to realize they drill holes into the door and trim stills to get inside the frame. It's totally unnecessary and when the rust proofing wears off, it immediately starts to rust.. from the hole they made. Also they just cake so much of it on, even on the plastic. Needless to say, I don't go to Krown anymore.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just remember that you need to continue getting Krown every year to qualify for their rust warranty. It's necessary for them to drill the holes so that the rustproofing can actually be effective in the area that it's needed.
Bloody Negative Nancy!!!!! ... try 7 of the great reasons to buy one one the best small cars on the market! No bloody wonder there's only 300 subs
Great Useful Tips!!! Wished they Made it in an AWD 6 spd but I settled for the Front Drive 6 spd Manual.....I'm Pretty Stoked!
Hey!! I'm so happy you found the video useful. I was really worried that the community would hate this content. At any rate, welcome to the manual 3 club! I'm sure you'll love the car :)
It's sad the Mazda is among the only few car manufacturers that don't offer remote start on the key fob.
They do. Just not on the manual tranny for obvious reasons. Maybe not in all countries/markets...
@@mikescardiaries it's only available on the app, not on the key fob (at least not in the USA)
@@samdovels1234 oh righttttt...my mistake. You're absolutely right. Thank you for that. I had forgotten
got a 2021 mazda 3 pp turbo and the remote window roll down doesnt work for me any help?
Hey thanks for watching! It theoretically should work... What country are you in? I've been getting some reports that some functions don't work in some regions. Try it again..or try hold on the 3rd click (instead of the 4th like I mentioned in the video).
Hi, In my 2020 CX30 It's doesn't work (Spain). My versión includes AFL and BOSE sound system, so It's a high equipation version.
Hi from Australia , Correct , 2024 no manual gearbox , I have a Gt coming next week Crystal Blue .
Ahh damn, thanks for confirming. On another note, I'm pretty certain Australians would buy enough manual cars to justify making them...what a pity :(
Regarding i-stop, or also known as engine shutdown at full stops, you can use a light pressure on brake pedal when stopped which will keep engine running. Press harder on the pedal when stopped and engine will shut down. You do not need to use the dash button to use this feature.
Which vehicle(s) is this available on? The Mazda 3 doesn't have that.
Mazdas with i stop feature, such as CX 50.@@mikescardiaries
Was so excited to try these on my mx-5. Nope 😅 not all mazda
Ahhh, sorry for your trouble! It was worth the try though 😔
I've just bought a mazda cx30 . Why would you want to unlock the car with the key for and drop the windows. It's never warm enough in the UK 😂
Fair point. Point taken hahaha
No rap you can fold the side mirrors manually? Who could expect that?😂
Yeah lol especially when they're electronic in some markets. Makes me shake my head lol
Actually, it’s quite hard. So, folks may think it’s not possible
@@mayonesacosmica That's what I initially thought too. They were really difficult to fold the first two or three times
Thank god for this video. I had empty tank for a month. Couldn't find a way to open my fuel cap.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not...but if not, thanks for watching haha. Glad it was helpful!
If the model can sense the key fob then take key fob near the open and push it and it will pop open at least it is on mine. Everything is on the owner reference manual but not easy to read it all.
@@olafbenz1 this is the best tip so far...thank you for your comment!! I couldn't figure it out lol
i wonder why they used black plugs, on my white 3 they used white ones so theyre less noticeable
Oh that's really interesting..when I get it done again this fall, I'll have to ask them about that. Thanks for the tip!!
I think the ability to roll the windows down via key fob isn’t available on all trims..or I’m doing something wrong. *2019 preferred Mazda 3
Ahhhh really? Maybe try one less click.. I thought that worked for some folks.
@@mikescardiaries appreciate it! 👍
fck doesnt work at all. fck off. mazda 2 2021 made in thailand
Sorry for your trouble..I'm sorry it didn't work for you. Which tip are you talking about? I don't know much about the Mazda 2 :(
In the Philippines, 2.5L is a waste. hahaha. That's why 2.0 is much better
That's totally understandable!! What are gas prices like?
Cylinder deactivation absolutely works and nets about a 10-15% MPG improvement with my 2023 3 manual. Routinely getting 35-40 MPG with this car, which is a noticeable improvement over my 2015 3 manual (both with the 2.5 liter motor). Really enjoying my gen 4 car, but the gen 3 was also a fabulous bit of kit.
Thanks for sharing! Maybe it's not such a bad feature after all. I don't mind it.
If you turn off the centerpoint and leave the bass eq at 0 it's extremely bassy, almost like an aftermarket subwoofer. However it also reveals some structural quality issues and rattles that you otherwise wouldn't notice.
Yes, I heard the sedan has a lot of rattling from the subwoofer, which is a shame on such an expensive car. This weekend I was moving, and I had a TON of stuff in my trunk. I was absolutely amazed at how much better the subwoofer sounded lol
@@mikescardiaries the fix is shoving something in the loose headliner/roof in the backseat, right where it meets the windshield. I put some strips of soundproofing material into it, some people just shove a napkin and it fixes it almost completely
The car will lock with the key inside if key is "sleeping " you can open if your app active.
Thanks for the comment. That's really helpful :)
How to tilt side mirrors for 2024 Mazda 3 automatic? Can’t seem to get it to work.
This is the same car I have. What region are you in? Maybe it's not available there? Select the left or right side, then just put your car in reverse. It should work this way 🙂
@@mikescardiaries I am in BC, Canada. Will try again using what you said. Hope it works.
@@sanjibandas8718 It may also only be the higher trims..which one do you have? I'm not certain if it works for the GX or GS trims...let me know and report back!
I have the GS trim, looks like it doesn’t work
@@sanjibandas8718 Ahh man, really sorry to hear that. But to be fair, I don't really use it myself lol. It's sort of a gimmick.
Just one more hidden feature. I’ve test drove the new 2024 CX-5, and all who have found the steering to be heavily weighted to steer. I have the perfect solution, Turn OFF the traction control. Now you can use 1 finger to drive your car in tight places. This is also true for my 2019 CX-3.
Where do you go to disable the traction control? New owner here
@@padraig88 TCS button above the hood release. On my cx-3. I know cx-5 has the same.
Hi Mike, Congrats this car is so beautiful, i like your enthusiasm for it, i own a 22 CX9 and i am also passionate like you and maintain it personally, majorly using Chemical Guys line up .. keep posting 🎉
Hey Vishal, thanks for your message! That's also a great car, congrats on it 😊 yes, chemical guys also makes great detailing products.
@@mikescardiaries We share the passion for Mazda's have been thinking that will you be interested in a get together, I am near Hamilton area is that somewhere near to you?
@@YaarNGuitar Hey man, I'm in London, so not too far away! Yes, I would be interested in a get together :)
Touch screen in display console is only for top trim level i believe
That makes me shake my head. My '14 GS (mid trim) had a touchscreen. Seems like Mazda likes to take more away over time...
Which one is better the turbo AT or the MT non turbo
Well mine is the N/A manual, so I'm biased 😀 I wouldn't take an auto for free hahah
There is also a way to pull up the windshield wipers for maintenance by pressing (if I remember correctly) the ignition and windshield wiper lever 3 times. this will remain stationary on the glass for maintenance. Do you know It? Regards
Ahhhh yes I'm so upset that I missed that!! I know that too...lol
Many new cars have it (like Honda and Hyundai etc) and it's not very useful IMO, I'd rather be able to raise it manually.
@@samdovels1234 Yeah, I completely agree with you here. Besides, sometimes when I go to place them back down, my car doesn't recognize that they're actually touching the windshield and sometimes keeps saying "please put the wipers down to use them"... like DUH hahah they ARE. So annoying sometimes
I was waiting for the "hidden" features. Two at most.
Thanks for watching!
so in Canada they call the manual a GT? in the US they call it the S Premium
Well the GT comes in manual or auto. It just stands for grand touring. Our trims are GX, GS, and GT, in that order. And then whatever speciality trims
You need to revise your use of "automatically" brother 😢. "If you drive an automatic transmission vehicle, you can put it in manual mode so you can automatically select your gears."
You're right - I had misspoken. We all make mistakes brother. Thank you for being understanding of that :)
You did a great job. I have a 2020 Hatchback premium with MT. Polymetal gray w/ red interior. I love my vehicle! Before this i had a 2015 GT with MT also, loved that one too. I have had almost zero issues with this (super minor trim piece needed fixing) and it's super fun to drive. My son has a 2007 sedan that he still drives and will for a couple more years. Coming from driving minivans for 24 yrs, I was so happy to get a car i loved. Premium interior, comfortable ride.... i'll drive it as long as i can get in and out of it (I'm 56) which hopefully will be many years to come!
Hey Maria, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you're driving a car you love again. I'm sure you'll be just fine for a long time to come my mom is almost 70, and she's just fine 😃
Thank you 👍
It's my pleasure!!
I have the 2021 cx5. Can the car lock with the key fob inside the car. Just thinking what if I accidentally left key fob in car and manually locked the doors and got out.
I don't believe that's possible. If you have both key fobs on you, and you leave one in the car, you can still lock it from the outside, but it'll beep at you to let you know, "hey, your OTHER key fob is in the car" lol. Otherwise, if you only have one key fob with you, the car will NOT let you lock it inside the car.
Yes you can based off of information I read in my 2021 CX-9 manual. It said it depends on where you sit the key. I had no idea and literally read this today. I was looking for something in my book about my back doors locking from the inside where my passenger can’t get out until I unlock it.
Opening the windows did not work for me. 2021 CX5
In yours it might be 3 clicks and hold...like the old style. It should work one way or another...
Thanks! I absolutely hate the adaptive cruise - I find it puts me in more dangerous situations than without it (i.e. on roads curving left when I'm in passing lane, and it picks up someone in the right lane and slams on the brakes)
I'm glad you found the video useful! Yes, it certainly can be dangerous in some instances. Hope this helps.
thanks for posting. Is there a way of raising the windows with the remote? Thx
Hey my pleasure! Sadly, I don't think there is. Would have been nice though eh? Lol.
They sell a kit on Allie express I believe that allows ya to put windows up using key fob, but I have yet been able to find it
It’s dangerous… kids or dogs
Thanks for the video! Doing research on the Mazda 3 sedan right now but haven’t went to test drive it yet :) I really like the sedan, and I agree that it seems the sedan has larger trunk space than the hatch. How is the blind spot on this car? I hear the hatchback has much larger blind spots than the sedan. I also see in other videos that every time you start the car, the Electronic parking brake is always on automatically, so then you always have to disengage it before driving. Does that ever get hassling?
Hey, thanks for watching - it's my pleasure! The sedan is a beauty for sure, and I do believe it has much better trunk space. I've heard the Bose audio system is better in the hatch, but I can't confirm as my old sedan was a 3rd gen. The stereo in that was epic. Blind spots are a concern as visibility is a bit low. As for the electronic parking brake, it's a real pain in the ass! I really miss the manual parking brake style, but you get used to it lol. Hope this helps.
Every car has a blind spot and hoomans are even worse for it... That's why we hoomans invented Blind spot monitoring :)
@@nobass_stub1394 yes. So people are terrible drivers lol
Is there a way to enable the touch screen in motion on 2021 Model or it is just for newer? I think I don't have that setting checkmark...
It may only be available in later models...I'm not 100% certain. There are so many trims in so many markets from various model years..it's hard for me to know them all 😔
@@mikescardiaries and on top of that difference between regions :D
How much did it cost you?
I think it's around 34 something Canadian if I'm not mistaken. Lease for 3 years plus buyout afterwards.
@@mikescardiaries thank you
@@neelpatel8638 my pleasure!! Are you thinking of getting one?
@@mikescardiaries Actually I've booked one in October. Hoping to get it delivered this month ✌️. It's a Mazda 3 sedan GT. Non turbo
@@neelpatel8638nice choie..it would be sick to have it for spring/summer
How do you take the power saving off the key fob ?😭
Do the same thing again lol. Should have clarified 😂
There is no need to click the button. Put it in your pocket and walk to the car and the side mirror with unfold, then hold the handle and the door will open. Also turn the car of when leaving with key fob in pocket and walk away the mirror will fold and the door is locked automatically.
Thanks for your comment, but I think you didn't listen to the video. I live here in Canada, and we don't have automatically folding side mirrors. They're manual only. For other people in other markets, yes this could work.
Wait what in other places the car mirrors fold?
@@sinwarrior3538 I think the US got auto-folding mirrors for 2024.. Using the button inside
@@mikescardiariesIndeed! In many EU countries, like Poland the same - all have that super feature.
@@Przemas79 What the heck? Hahah why not in Canada?! 😂 It's a great feature!
I have a 2023 sedan carbon edition and I definitely wish it didn't have it at all its very jumpy and rocks back and forth under 20mph almost like a manual when your going way too slow and in too high of a gear
This could be caused by cylinder deactivation. Could also be worth going to the dealer to have that repaired as your car is under warranty.
Thanks for the information because I recently purchased Mazda CX 30 2024 and all these gadgets I don’t understand them so thanks for the info.
Hey Isabel, thanks for watching. I hope these work for you! Let me know if any of them don't.
My understanding is that all is in the reference manual and other issue Mazda dealership would help. I suppose that depends on which country you are in.
Dude I greatly appreciate this video and the other 2 you made. I’m from Abbotsford, B.C (my fellow Canadian) and just got approved financing for the first time for a new car and getting the Mazda 3 GS Luxury Package. Now my last car was a 2011 Chevy Cruze and the greatest features that I’ve had in that car was Power locks, power windows, and Bluetooth haha. So going from that car to this car is Gonna be a huuuuuuuge change for me and these videos are definitely helping me understand my future car until it arrives (got it in that sweet sweet red) So thank you v much for these videos and if I have any questions about the new M3 I’ll definitely ask you haha. Keep making these sick videos 🖤🇨🇦
Hey man! Thanks so much for this comment! I'm so happy for your new purchase, especially in the Soul Red Crystal - you'll love it! If you look at the community tab on this channel, you'll see that I actually had a 3rd gen in Soul Red for around 2 months last year lol. You'll love the car, and again, congrats! I'm happy these videos were able to help you out. Cheers from Ontario. Also, I forgot to mention this in the video(s) - but don't forget the Mazda Connect app. Your dealership will help you get set up. You can lock/unlock your car from anywhere in the world, and you can do some other stuff like check tire pressure etc. Super cool app.
Woah what?! That’s insane!! That’s definitely a cool feature to have and will definitely ask about it once back at the dealership. Only thing I’m dreading is the car insurance cost, ICBC basically makes us poor already as is and with me working at the Vancouver School Board I have to have special insurance which makes my overall payments higher. Fingers crossed it’s nothing more than $300 a month
@@phoenixstanway2512 300 a month 😲 I paid around 1200 for the year 😔

Yes for sure, but I'm talking about when the engine is still on.
@Bribens_ I have same car Mazda 2. in Australia
I strongly agree on the painting quality of the M3. I thought it was only in Malaysia, it easily spoil by stone chip, very obvious & there are so many of it. Now thinking of repaint the car.. 😂
Yes! The paint is very sensitive..but I already ordered my Dr. ColorChip package, so it should be OK! You're going to repaint the car?! That's a big job lol.
Mazda 3 is only available with 6 speed auto across the range in Australia.
Thanks, Michael..I did notice this while doing research for another video. What an absolute shame for Australians. Why would Mazda make that decision...
Hey! Good video, do you know if the 2023 trim also have the cylinder deactivation? And how can you notice when is working .Or is this a new feature on the 2024 models?I got a 2023 HB automatic transmission, Thanks!!!
I believe Mazda dropped it for 2021, but then has reintroduced it in all subsequent model years. I think it really depends on what engine it is as well..I believe SkyActiv-X does not have it at all. But in a North American SkyActiv-G engine from 2023, almost certainly it's there.
like for the simple fact that it's a manual
