Zestaw do samodzielnej budowy kajaka typu „skin-on-frame”, czyli szkielet drewniany pokryty grubą (250 gr.) tkaniną. It's fun to build your own boat. This is Annabelle designed by Dave Gentry.

I really like this. I would want a helper in case the wind came up. At least it makes it doable! Well Done !!
Ode to benmy hill
Absolutely brilliant man.
I'm glad I own sea kayaks. Way simpler to manage this stuff.
This looks like a Bolger Gypsy. Great boat, I have the plans, I will build it. Not sure but I think you should be sitting more forward for better trim.
Pozdrawiam Robert
O.K. good idea, but what about the ends running wild on the left side? You can't drive around like that.
Best solution
I've always loved the Gypsy, can't seem to find plans anymore

Jaki to profil?
Jaki to profil?
This is so awesome! Can you show a video of how you built the car top rack and ramp?
Smart
Gientarka zloto
👍
Genius
Excellent solution, cheap and easy to build (looks so anyway). Do you know how much your little Bolger weighs? i'm asking as I have an old glass tender, she's 10.6 feet long and 5 wide. She's fairly weighty, 2 can lift her but not one. She could be manipulated I believe like you are doing here, but I'm just wondering the weight difference with your and mine. Cheers mate happy boating
Hello. Thank you for your message. This is the first boat I ever built so she is (actually was) very heavy - I would say at least 65, 70 kg!. That is a lot, but not impossible for an old man to deal with. :) I have since replaced her with a SOF dingy that weighs half of that (see my other videos). I don't have a video of cartopping her but it's a different idea and simpler. I have two removable wheels on the stern so I can pull the dingy and rest the tip of the bow on the back of the roof rack, then lift up and slide the boat on the rack. Easy and fast. Cheers!
@@johncudak3244 Thanks for your reply, I've built a couple of ply/epoxy kayaks and a 14 dinghy and our first ones are always slightly on the heavy side. I just saw your reply so I'll check out your other clips. From what you've said about mounting wheels on the stern, is what I've been thinking about as an easy solution. I still like this technique you've got here though, I'm going to give it a go, but with the wheels would make it easier to deal with at the boat ramp/beach
@@johncudak3244 brilliant idea, this! I've been worried about how to get a boat up onto a canopy or ladder rack on my Mazda pickup, alone. Haven't built the boat yet, haha, have to build outdoors so waiting for warm weather next spring. Have never built a boat, haven't decided on what to build, yet. I thought of Gentry's Piankatant River Pram, but worry it would be a difficult first boat to build. I see your video of a wheelbarrow pram: I'm waiting for Angus boatworks to put out plans for a 'wheelbarrow boat' which the newsletter says will be an elegant and useful dinghy, and good building instructions for a novice builder.
@@wendyanderson8169 Nice to see that you are developing a taste for adventure. The Gentry pram is probably very easy to build because of the pram's flat bow (no mitering). In General, building a boat is much easier than most people think.
When I was kid (60s), we had that system. It was made of gal, steel. Two C channels for the bars and a pipe frame with telescopic legs. It has carried a 12' tinny, a Manley Junior sail boat, a Colman Scanoe, & Wobbegong canoe. Then cars changed, no more gutter mount roof racks. It used to screech like all heck! I still have the rack but it hasn't been used in decades.
How does making your own video sound to you? I’m sure you’ll get lots of views.
Well, rain gutters on cars dissappeared about a quarter century ago. The last car I owned that could take that rack was built between 1979-1982, so how could I possibly produce a demo video of that gutter mounted roof rack system? I'm not knocking the achievement, just noting it's an old idea from a previous eara when gutter mounted racks were pretty much universal across all hardtop cars. @@b4dmblm705
Love it excellent
Z czego jest ta giętarka?
Hey John Great boat loader. What did you use for the pegs? Are they just wooden dowels or some thing else? Thanks.
Hello. I used ordinary oak pegs 15mm diameter.
Thanks John
Very ingenious!
What's the weight of the boat?
Excellent! I's like to do something similar. How did you reattach the wheels while the boat was in the water?
With the same yellow strap he uses while it's out the water ! Why ?
😂😂😂
beautiful work; would it be abuse to ask for the plan to cut the plates of naval plywood? if you can be so kind as to send it to my email echaklian59@gmail.com (I will do it for young apprentices)
I don't have any friends either.
Working odd hours and don't want to leave my boat at the shore. Nope, there's no harbour nearby. This seems to work 👍
I have two questions: 1- How do I get a specific diameter of curvature? 2- Do I need to insert the pipe at specific distances while bending?
Very good!
Nie tylko w USA powstają takie konstrukcje. W naszym kraju większość wczesnych warzyw typu kapusta, por, seler, botwinka, itp pochodzi właśnie z takich tuneli i często wiele większych na długość i szerokość😜 Pozdrawiam
Same as my video. Same music :) th-cam.com/video/b_rU4eb1LHM/w-d-xo.html

Simply brilliant!
Great idea, going to do similar with my mirror dinghy & kayak.
Hi. Did you build the outriggers to plan, or did you scale them up or down?
Outriggers were built form Michael Storer's plans. They may look bigger because I put the deck stringers on the outside.
@@johncudak3244 Thank you. Are you pleased with how it works?
Super gientarka!
I'm confused what you do with the ladder/ramp once it's on top.
Take it apart (2 bolts that attach at the roof crossbeams) and add it on top.
@@johncudak3244 OK Thanks.
MISTRZOSTWO ŚWIATA ZA KAŻDYM RAZEM KIEDY TO OGLADAM . SUPER . SZKODA ŻE NIEMA KOLOEJNEGO ODCINKA .
Sir, that is really clever!
Chyba jak zrobic łuki a nie tunel. Zmień tytuł filmu. Tragedia
Dziękuję bardzo za film. Super patent
Dobry patent👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
