Today I head out to the line with my wife, dad and niece. We have another great day with marten catches. We need to do a lot of work to get across many open water spots. We get another load of wolf bait oput. We get back to the truck in the dark. And like always, it's all worth it. We take an evening ride out for an overnight stay at our trapline cabin. We get a couple catches on the way in. Warm weather has most water crossings open. Today we head out on the homeline. We take some bait to refresh some of the stations. We come across some really fresh lynx tracks so we set up a couple more snare pens. The wolves have been back so we get some more snares hanging. And we still need some colder weather to freeze up the open water. In tonights GAPTRaX video we have some excitement with some chewed out snares, a live wolf and misfires. We have another good, full day on the trapline. A good marten catch considering we checked 2 days prior, we try out a new tool on the trail, I talk a little politics concerning the local forest company and I'm pretty sure Mr. Trump makes an appearance. #martentrapping #wolftrapper #wolverinetrapper #dewalt #skidooexpedition
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁..love watching all your trapping videos..always interesting and entertaining to see the outdoors with you guys ..🐾🐾🐺❄️🍻
Merry Christmas love watching your channel. Great content enjoy your family and wishing you great success in your season.
@@francismcinnis5995 thanks. Merry Christmas to you too. House full of grandkids at the moment. 😃
Great content! Inspirational, entertaining. It would be good if you add educational, instructional contents also . Thank you
Looks good. I would add a ring that could be slipped over that handle ends to hold it as a safety

@@GAPTRaX Thanks. Perhaps I over reacted . Keep making videos..
Great video hard day looks like you'll have good trails next run
@@Cascades-yj4mr hopefully. +8c tonight on Xmas eve so probably not going to be great.
Great haul but boy you built lots of bridges, good job! I love it.
Are you in Alaska

Great video! Reminds me of my boyhood trapping muskrats! Are you concerned at all about touching your snares with your bare hands? Thanks again for a great and snowy video!
@@donaldnorth3714 i find I’m not very good at maintaining a clean pair of gloves so my bare hands are usually a better option. Thanks for the comments.
Who makes that trap with the Kill Bar or did you add it? Thanks. I a running the same snowmobile on the trapline, It's a beast. Good Luck on the season.
@@JoeHollandFishing I believe they are LDL 120 magnums. Been a while since I’ve ordered any. We need those by regulation here.

Awesome
what happened to the old days of loading by hand 😂 now every 1 lazy and has a winch😢😮
God bless
Patients is a virtue right? It’s just a matter of time.
@@tomhincks9437 yup. I also find the wolves have a bit of a pattern and do their rounds. Will expect some back in a couple weeks.

Nice set up I need to build one for the road kill elk we get
@@Cascades-yj4mr thanks. An outfitter has them on his trucks so we made a few more for him and i made extras for myself. Since then Ive made several for hunter/trapper/outfitter buddies. I have one on my dump trailer too.

Great video I'm going to get one of those battery pruner's nice tool great catches I'd hate to shake your hand at the end of season after setting All those little conibers LoL
@@Cascades-yj4mr ya, that pruner works good. There’s definitely a technique to setting conibears. I wouldn’t want to do too many 330 without setters though. Thanks for watching.
A lot of those Chiapas have issues with firing

@@tomhincks9437 Ha, well work still manages to play a big part of life for me. But we do make sure we take advantage of play time. Thanks for watching.
Just found your channel, awesome stuff! I've never been one to tell anyone my way is the right way but I've used 1/16" 1x19 cable to catch wolves for years with no issues, but the last few rolls I bought just don't seem to have the breaking strength! I don't get chew outs but simply broken cable, I still have over 200 snares made up so I'll try another season but I think the quality is just garbage now days! Another thing is I use to run the GoPro and had nothing but issues in the cold, they have an upgraded battery which I have not tried, but I have switched to the DJI Osmo 4 camera and it is day and night, I can run that thing for days in the cold with no issues compared to the GoPro, just my thoughts anyway. Great channel and keep up the good work! Where about in the world are you located by the way? Thanks, What I Do
@@whatido3021 thanks. I watch your channel all the time. Great advice on the camera, I just started channel a couple weeks ago so using what I have to get things figured out. I’m just outside of Prince George in BC. Not super far from you. I sure appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching.

Looking forward to seeing how your season goes! Things are looking good. Not much snow here yet so I cannot get to my spots yet but soon. I love a blind set for wolves, seems like you get the bigger ones.
@@idaho2ndgens240 yup. The older ones seem to be more cautious around the obvious trails. And if I make a disturbance on their path I will try to find a spot they might circle around on. Thanks for watching.
👍
Howdy, I do some trapping in Downeast Maine on old farmstead property of family friends...We always come to find some tracks and have used lots of ways to set up trail for whatever to follow to snares and traps. This year we are trying an old oak wooden post about 10" long, tied up to some deer hide soaked in lure. We will drag this behind our sled or quad and toss out small bait chunks and fur as we go. Martin and Fisher are all over the pine trees, lots of weasels popping up. The heavy snow we had but lost to big rain storm so we are back to soggy and muddy tracks.
@@mainemagic4968 awesome. If I get a roadkill deer I will drag it behind the sled. Larger critters like moose usually need to go in the skimmer. Thanks for watching.
I’d use gloves. Just sayin.
@@ronperkins1687 lots of people say that. I disagree, mostly because as hard as you try it’s impossible to keep them clean. But others may be more careful than me. Lol. Thanks for watching.
