Pizza Attempt #1 - Expert Grill Charcoal Pizza Oven
Pizza Attempt #1
Things we learned…
Need to get the pizza dough a lot thinner!
Make sure the dough is really dry before trying to load into the oven.
Best temperature for pizza oven is between 700 and 725F
Less toppings for better cook
Keep the pizza moving to avoid burning the crust
Even with the steep learning curve…
Pizza flavour was amazing
Oven really easy to use
Will add wood chunks next time
Briquettes better than lump charcoal for heat

As soon as I heard that stupid music, I knew the pizza was gonna be a burnt outside crust and doughy under-cooked inside disaster
I am thinking about getting one of these as I now use my Smoker for this but it takes a long time to heat up. About the dough; the lower the hydration, the hotter and faster the pizza will cook. You just have to find what works for you and ensure that the bottom has a good crust without burning the top. Don't limit the oven to pizza. You can make pita bread, roast veggies and a lot of other goodies
I wanna buy one of those. Great looking pizza. I bet it taste excellent!
Looks good...
Suggestion: Increase lump charcoal and add a few small pieces of wood and increase heat-up time
Well, I'm no pizza expert but the bottom crust doesn't seem cooked through and the slices look a little doughy in the middle. Would I eat this pizza? Heck yeah. I wouldn't let any pizza go to waste. Wondering if you get a roaring heat-up going for about 30 minutes then cook with the 500F temp on the stone if the bottom would get browner? Seems these type pizza ovens do better with thin crust. Anyway, thanks for posting the video.
Yeah, he needs more heat. The stone should be much hotter than that when cooking. He should be at least 700 and ideally hotter than that. I just got this oven in December but had started my pizza journey before that. I would also recommend stretching the pizza out thinner. I’m not the best at stretching but the dough stretching technique needs some work. Hope it goes well for him.
Mmm that looks sooo good!!
Yes it was pretty good for a first try.
Wow this look delicious!!!
It was!
