    How many beads would you load for a necklace?

    • @CRAFTABLE_JBS
      @CRAFTABLE_JBS 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can help you with the inches or cms of beads that would be loaded on the thread. I cannot give the count of beads because I haven’t counted them. Maybe some software programs can do that. The calculations are like this : Circumference x length of necklace Eg: Circumference is 6 beads and length needed is 10 inches. So 6x10 =60 inches of beads. So you will thread on the beads according to the pattern for a total length of 60 inches. And when you are done crocheting a 6 bead circumference pattern you will end up with a 10 inch of chain. This calculation is the same for any size bead. Some slight variation can be there depending on the consistency of bead size, the thread used and the tension of the work. I hope this helps.

    Hello, I'm sorry, again. I'm a little confused if the circumference is 8, why do you put 9 random color beads , different from the pattern before you start the actual project? why wouldn't it be 8 of random color beads? Thank you, your friend gracie

      Good Morning!! If I may I do have 2 questions so far, right now. 1. My beads are already strung but I cut the string from the roll. I did leave a lot of extra string to the side that has beads. Should I start over stringing beads and not cut the string? 2. In your video you show when you are crocheting your colors come together, so you can find your place, yellow with yellow and so forth. Mine isn't like that and I lose my place because I don't have the color reference like you do. Can I some how use the pattern when I start to crochet to tell me which bead would be next? 3. I have been looking for a bracelet pattern to start so I can practice but the ones I have found look complicated, not for beginners. I don't know. Looking for 11/0. 8 circumference. Do you have any links for a bracelet I could try? Thanks a million for all your time and willingness to help. Words will never be able to express my gratitude. Take care.

    • @CRAFTABLE_JBS
      @CRAFTABLE_JBS 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Let me answer question no 1. You should cut your thread from the spool until you finish your project. String on the beads on to thread and let the beads be there. Do not cut thread. You need the thread to crochet. Reply to question no 2: The beginner learning video is made with different colour beads so that it will be easy to learn, understand and practice bead crochet slip stitch ropes. After you are good with slip stitch bead crochet stitch you can attempt designs. To get the design right you need to put on the beads precisely in the same order as in the pattern and also stick to the circumference as stated in the design. If any one of them is wrong, then you will get a bead crochet rope but the design will be distorted. So that’s why you should look for a pattern with less circumference preferably 6 or 8 and which is repetitive. I’ll link you to the easy pattern that I have in my playlist. See if it works for you. And usually spiral patterns are easier because you can easily know what bead goes next, and you can be sure it’s right.

      Hi. Thank you for asking. Like I say in the video, the bead is some random beads which has no size numbers. A similar size will be size 6o sead beads. And the thread I used is crochet cotton no 10 size. What you should look out for is that the thread you are using must be cotton and should fit snugly into the hole of the bead you are using. This will be a good place to begin.

      When you are practising whatever I said above works. Once you get the stitch you can then reach out for good quality beads and thread.

    Hi do you always use your starter when you start your bead ropes or sometimes you start your ropes now without . For the invisible join I find the starter makes the beginning end nice and I finish the end row with no beads yarn over and pull the loop out to close the end and sew the two ends together. Patricia.

    • @CRAFTABLE_JBS
      @CRAFTABLE_JBS 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello I never start any bead crochet ropes without a starter rope. Unless I am making a starter rope with a circumference of beads for which I don’t have a starter rope. It’s easy and I get a clean beginning. It’s the only way I can join the rope invisibly. Without a clean beginning like this I wouldn’t be able to make an invisible join. And like you said the end of the tube must be just stopped as you crochet. You cannot end it with just slip stitches if you want to join the rope. I hope you have seen my video for invisible join of bead crochet ropes. I’ll send you the link for them.

I was just about ready to give up because I could not for the life of me get it to work and actually look like a pattern, rather than just a jumble of beads! Thank you for your appreciation. I’ve been in the same place several years ago where the only source I had to learn this were pictures/ illustrations. It took me several months to figure out. Once you are able to get about 1.5 to 2 inches of tube, then you may use this tube to start your future tubes. It’s called the starter rope method of starting bead crochet tubes/ropes. Try it and experience the freedom of effortlessly working bead crochet ropes of any circumference. Here is the link to my starter tube tutorial

    Hi I notice that you close your circle with a slip stitch. Other methods I have noticed on videos don't close the circle with a slip stitch and just pull the bead down. Do you prefer closing with the slip stitch? Thank you or your reply. Patricia

      Hello Yes I close my first circle with a slip stitch and also bead crochet my first bead in the same place. I don’t slip stitch to close in further rows, it’s all worked in spirals. I close the first round with a slip stitch because it gives me a good grip to continue my bead crochet slip stitch. Of course it works even if you don’t close the first round. You can continue to work in spirals right from the first round. But I prefer closing it and there is no change in the look or how it works further.

      @@CRAFTABLE_JBS Thank You for answering and explaining. Recently I have started to close it this way too. I used to do the other method just pulling the first bead down and starting the spiral this way but it was not always easy as the beads would sometimes slip into the circle on the second and third row so I have stopped doing it now that way and do it now like you do. Love your videos and you explain so well. Your work is beautiful.I have learnt so much from watching your videos.Thank you and Blessings. Patricia

      madeinindiabeads.com/collections/czech-glass-seed-beads This is an Indian website where you get all jewellery related supplies. You must look for Czech seed beads. It’s available in various sizes. I usually buy size 8 or size 11. 8 is bigger beads and 11 is smaller size. I usually use size 8 for the bead crochet necklaces. And you can choose your preferred colours.

Just Please a couple of questions: 1. do you have a video on how you make your starter tubes with 8 seed bead around? and 2. Do you know if I can send you a picture of what im doing via: you tube? Thank you so much. Hope this finds you well.
