Mobile Device Security for 2023
Zimperium has a free app for mobile phone security. It's partnered with cities like Dallas, New York City, Los Angeles, and others to provide some much-needed help in keeping our mobile devices secure. It has some excellent features and I highly recommend it. Yes, the firm I work for partners with Zimperium - that's how I learned about it. But I get no compensation for this recommendation. I'm just a security guy hoping y'all get more secure!

IP Addresses Real World Expectations

You just got your certification and you're on your first job, doing stuff and things on the network. What can you expect to see in the way of IP addressing? Will you constantly be calculating subnets, or will it be easier than that?

OSI Model
มุมมอง 855 ปีที่แล้ว
Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Datalink, Physical - All People Seem To Need Data Processing. The OSI model gets tested so often because there are 7 layers, and make for easy test questions to write. Do we use it in networking? Not all of it, but yes. Yes, we do. So learn it!

Nice and to the point, thanks
Congrats on 1,000 subscribers! :)
thank you
Heartly thanks Sir for sharing excellent information
Hi, could you show us the same procedure to Cisco Calaryst 6500? Thank you for your help.
Hi Roberto, did you manage to do it for 6500. I have the same issue and was wondering how to recover password without losing configuration? Thank you in advance :)
This is very good video ❤
I have worked in both IT and OT networking for 38 years. IT folks who step into the OT world are typically pretty much stunned by the differences and needs of OT.
Nice video Dean, With the casual humor to lighten the load. I saved it and subscribed. Thx. Have a nice day :)

Thank you Dean, this was helpful.
Stuxnet?
Stuxnet. That was a malware that infected an air-gapped OT network. When that happened, we all learned that air-gapped means a very high latency internet connection.
@@An_Economist_Plays Many thanks
is it work for cisco AP-Aironet?
You will need to check the documentation on that. The wireless gear may have some differences.

Sure thing, and I'm about to get started up again with content for the channel again, so if you have any requests or questions, let me know!
I didn't understand problem 3. Servers can't use a private IP, they should use a public one. Why should the server need to use a private IP in the first place?
Some servers get set up in that range if there's an intention for internal access only, but that use case changes as workers move to homes and it must be reachable via VPN users. There are other networks that were originally set up to be closed networks in the 192.168 range but later had to be made reachable via VPN. You'll see this frequently in the OT sphere.
Very good video thanch you!!!

Really liked it, brilliant 👍. I would like to know more about it especially for the IIoT perspective...... How do I connect with you ?
That was exactly what i have been looking... Many thanks !!!
So what kind of external online storage would you recommend with the best security? I'm really just looking to back up photos and family stuff. Not for a business... One computer, not multiple... I was looking at Carbonite and idrive. I'm not technically savvy at all. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
If it's for photos and things like that, just about any free service would be good for that - not a lot of hackers going after private photos when the ones already posted on FB and such are enough. If we're looking at the need for a secure archive for financial documents, you are looking at possibly going with a paid service. Or you can encrypt your documents with a tool such as Veracrypt and then upload the encrypted file to the free share. If a person gets that encrypted file but does not know your password, then that person cannot open the file to view the archived contents. That also means you want to keep track of that password - I actually recommend writing it on a paper you keep in your wallet or billfold, as that's typically something you always have with you whenever you access that encrypted file.
Dean Webb OK great. Thanks for the response. What if you were going to upload financial documents? What paid service would you use?
@@carlaedwards81 That I would have to research, as I keep mine all local. :-) But here is a web page I'd refer to: www.ukwebhostreview.com/blog/most-secure-cloud-storage/
@@An_Economist_Plays Thank you. Great article.
What does confreg 0xF mean?
It allows the device to boot up from an image on flash memory.
Dean Webb isn’t that the same as 0x2042? Why the difference then?
Why are there no comments on this? This is pure--dee gold.
Thanks, Tom! Maybe more than 15 people need to view it... a bigger crowd usually means more comments. :-)

Is CCTV an OT service?
Not as such. OT is different from IoT - Operational Technology, OT, is for manufacturing environments and things like that. They can be very sensitive and often use proprietary protocols. Most have to be kept separate from the regular IT environment. CCTV are Internet of Things or IoT devices that sit side by side with regular IT devices, like laptops and printers.
@@An_Economist_Plays thank you! It makes sense 👍
@@mohamedhaneef6379 Hello Mohamed, CCTV, can enter the OT space There is mission critical CCTV systems that are critical to operations, these come under OT This may be a conveyor camera, storage silo camera, This differenciates it's self from static cameras for surveillance and security

It's only a problem if you're not tracking your IPv6 traffic on firewalls and other security systems.

Hello Sir i have XR1000 xixia router , i forget login and password could you help me sir ?
Best thing to do would be to look up that model in a web search with the keywords "reset password". It will likely involve physical access to the device and a console cable.
