Motion Capture for Unreal Engine 5 using MOVE ONE and Live Link Face Capture on iOS for Metahumans
มุมมอง 6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This tutorial shows how to record face and body animations with the MOVE ONE and Live Link Face Capture apps on iOS, processing them in Unreal Engine 5, retargeting the MOVE ONE skeleton to Metahuman skeleton and combining head and body animations into a single animation while retaining head and neck rotation. Check out Feeding Wolves tutorial on head rotation transfer: th-cam.com/video/Nkb4DEo...
Jewel's Obelisk - Short Unreal Engine 5 Cinematic Scene

Captured the body animation with Move One, captured the face animation with Live Link Face Capture. Created the skin and cloak textures in Substance Painter. Created cloak in Marvelous Designer. Created the scene in Unreal Engine using Megascan assets. Created the foley sounds and soundtrack in Nuendo. Assets compiled for UE in Blender. Short cinematic testing the creation of assets for filmmak...
The tutorial is amazing and it helps a lot, but the final result isn't clear, the scene is so dark. I barely saw the face animations.
Thanks Joe!
How is Rokoko Dual vision compared to Move AI mobile version? Which one would you recommend for indie Filmmaker?
Move One works a lot better imo, Rokoko had a lot of software issues and they have mentioned they do not plan to continue support for the suitless AI MoCap - Will be doing more videos with Move One soon!
@@joelombard4970 Thanks for the response. Looking forward to more learning videos from you.
I like the result, well done! I think I'll grab a cam link for this ✨
THANK YOU! This is the first one that has actually worked every time. So many other tutorials with the keyframing the animation blueprint type etc. and they've just never worked. Finally got to use Metahumans as I wanted. Thank you again!
So stoked to hear it helped!
what would differentiate with the importing process between MOVE One and Rokoko? Do you have a video similar to this, but using Rokoko for the mocap?
Wild you ask, I am planning on making one this week!
@@joelombard4970 perfect! I’ll mess around with MOVE One in the meantime while I wait!
@@joelombard4970 Do you have any plans on when you will release the video? I know it takes a while so no rush! Just asking.
@@Jenthay I've been trying the last month, the Rokoko Vision site is very bugging and hasn't let me record it successfully... Will let you know when it works!
Legendary tutorial! Simple and straight forward. 👍
thank you!
Coolest thing i seen all day. Thanks 😊
Cheers Joe, working on my short next week using this workflow, this is really helpful.
glad to hear it! let me know how it goes!
OGGGGGGGG
the first 3d model looks just like you lol
😅
Hi sir I'm working on a simple animation project in Unreal Engine 5.4. It's a 10-15 minute documentary-style video for TH-cam in 1080p, featuring MetaHumans and city life scenes. I'm sourcing assets from Sketchfab and will do color grading in DaVinci Resolve 19. Since I'm not creating games, I'm focused on keeping Unreal's size small and optimizing performance for smoother viewport and faster rendering. Could you make a video covering all possible ways to optimize Unreal Engine for animation projects like mine? It would be incredibly helpful to learn how to manage MetaHumans, streamline rendering, and keep the project lightweight. Thanks so much in Advance..
I am very impressed with your video. Your method of using livelinkface+moveai in unreal is the best solution I have ever seen. This is exactly what I want to do!! Thank you so much.!!
Can unreal engine effects be exported as fbx?
Bro question, its any way to use android phone for to do the same process please
MOVE says they are releasing an Android version! www.move.ai/move-one-android-waitlist
move one is too expensive.rokoko dual vision is way better and no credit
Rokoko is definitely better, MOVE One you get 30s of free mo cap which is why i demo'ed it
Great one bro!
TH-camr from the 70’s 😊
LOL it's the glasses isn't it
@@joelombard4970more of the stash. Love it!
hi new video for camera keinct for animation pls
Haha i love the dance😂
LOL thanks
Very nice! Interesting how MetaHuman Animator did a good job tracking the eyes, even with glasses on. Really liked how you covered so much of your workflow in an easy to understand way.
Thank you for watching! Your videos on face capture and head rotation transfer techniques are great and were heavily referenced!
Wholeheartedly agree with this comment! (and so cool that the OG of Metahumans is!)
