Teen girls in the Namuwongo slum are at the bottom of the social ladder. Ten Eighteen's Touch the Slum program provides free crisis care, residential programs, vocational school, healthcare, daycare, counseling, and entrepreneurship training for teen moms and teen girls in the slum. 100% of donations go to the programs!
Ten Eighteen Uganda is a registered 501c3 and has been working in the Namuwongo slum since January 2009.

Learning Hairdressing opens all kinds of doors!
Our free Hairdressing program trains the girls in our Skills for Life program to do women's and men's hair, opening job opportunities in local salons. Girls learn all aspects of haircare, styling, braiding, and barbering to make them very in-demand in the community.

Our free Clinic keeps girls in class!

The Haven Clinic on our main compound provides free medical care to our students, their children, and our staff. We also provide free sanitary pads and diapers. All this means that girls stay in class and participate in their community without shame or financial worry.

Girls living in Uganda's slums lack access to education, so most don't know how to read and write, do basic math, or speak English (the official language of Uganda). Our FREE Literacy program gives them all this and much more! Each day, 30 girls get a meal, basic Literacy skills, creativity, and problem solving and they thrive!
