Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (GSHHDC), an undertaking of Government of Gujarat was established in 1973 with the main objective of identification, revival and development of handicrafts and handlooms of Gujarat.
The Corporation markets products through its GARVI GURJARI chain of emporia across the country and supply to exporters.
Gujarat has an array a rich variety of crafts. Its embroidery, bead work, wood crafts, printed and woven clothes, pottery and tribal art are expression of the folklore and festivals. The exclusive range of these works of craftsmen imbued with the social and cultural hue of the region from where they have sprung are original in nature and craftsmanship. Today far moved from the hut or the village of the craftsman, pieces of handicrafts come to adorn the houses of the elite, hotels both in India and abroad.

Documentary on TANGALIYA Shawl Hindi
Tangaliya work is unique to Gujarat, as it is not practiced anywhere else in India. It is the dotted woven textiles prepared in Surendranagar district. Also know as Danna work, it is because of the bead effect created on fabric. Know more about its weaving and the weaver community through this documentary.

Hon. Managing Director has introduced GSHHDC from the inception of the Corporation and familiar about the activities of the Corporation. Sir has been working for the crafts and craftsmen since he joined the Corporation as well as taken care of interest of the employees working with the Corporation. We thank to him and appreciate his way of working resulting in achieving objectives of the Corporation.
