I'm going to upload rare albums of Electronic music and some of my own film and video work.
Memorial Borsht
This is a piece that starts in F minor, move to the Hexagonal scale, and move to C# minor. Themes appear both forwards and backwards. Why the title? I have no idea.
Sunset
A mostly tonal choral piece for my friend SHC who doesn't like atonal music.
Orphans
Orphans - better sounds and with titles. A highly chromatic piece written in Sibelius and then exported to Logic Pro and here it is.
Adagio in G
I wrote this piece with a ground bass and then entire piece sounds humane and sane to me.
The Time Goes by Durham
This is a music video I made with the band Durham. I met Brad when I taught him and thought he had great talent. I hope if he sees this, he does not object. Shot on the DVX100 and I recently upraised to Hi-Def.
Pensive Mood for the Winter
Emphasizing melody for once, written in the pedestrian key of E minor.
Rain on Sunday
An orchestral piece written in the modes of limited transposition.
The Clasp
A piece for woodwinds, brass, choir, piano and strings in tribute to Arvo Part, under whose influence I wrote this piece. Composed in Sibelius Ultimate, remixed in Logic X using EastWest samples.
Limits
Written the 3rd Mode of Limited Transposition, for those of you who like Messiaen's work, written of course in Sibelius where everything is impossible to do.
6:24 Lowkey, this rendition Sugar Plum Fairy is pretty gangster. It's got attitude.
I feel like an Alien hearing this amongst people that have listened to this when it was still fresh…idk this album does what others dont capture as well…and that cover my my
Mr. Bungle (Mike Patton) started the Europian Vacation Tour 2024 with: "Also sprach Zarathustra" Op. 31 (Excerpt)"😁
perfect music for a funeral
I also wish there was a CD!
21:30
I feel oddly moved..
Completely underrated. But it needs some more cowbells.
When I played this, my cat started meowing loudly and continuously. When the music stopped, he stopped. I think he was being a bit harsh.
Glad you posted it, sir! This was fun to make, been a long time. How can i reach out?
I'm retired now here in Fort Smith due to various health problems. My email is markburgh2012@gmail.com
All the right notes. But not necessarily in the right order.
Junior high band music
Around the time of punk rock, I remember having a deep teenage conversation with someone who thought it would be both funny and artistically subversive to do something so badly, that it would cause a reaction and offend polite society, or some such guff. Adolescent philosophy.
Herbie sent me to Pat Gleeson, he in turn sent me here. Whew. Quite a digital road trip. Thanks to all who compose and share the wealth for us regular folks.
This is a dream come true ❤
Lmao!!! 😂
I dream of Classic FM playing these tracks on the morning of 1st April.
Every body is "Jaco this and Jaco that"... yes Jaco was great for sure... however AJ's playing on the Weather Report records grooved much harder IMHO... he let the music breath without having to fill up the space with a bunch of "filler" just saying...
Your are so right. No gymnastics on the bass, just pure unadulterated Ethereal and Mesmerizing soul.
Wow this brings it all back this blend of cutting edge players doing it amazing of its time but the quality and intensity of the ensamble intetaction is still blinking fantastic thank you for posting a classic so called fusion album
I wish TH-cam would ask me what I thought of this video. I'd click "life changing" and "inspiring" in a heartbeat
Forreal, they only ask about trash content. Wish we could volunteer their dumbahh surveys.
I don't suppose anyone happens to know what this is? th-cam.com/video/zIkeOHMWLJ8/w-d-xo.html
They a little confused, but they got the spirit
I'm laughing myself to tears🤣😅😂🤣😂🤣
Vraiment, mon amie.
I'd give my back teeth to own this album, if I had any.
I did give my back teeth. This album cost me $200 dollars which the most I ever paid for an album.
Very beautiful!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful Orchestra composition you've made! What VST Instruments did you use? Also, have you ever tried out the new MuseScore 4 Muse Sounds library? It sounds very good and realistic.
I don't see my reply, so I will post it again. Thanks for your compliments. I composed this in Sibelius and then put it into Logic X using EastWest Opus for the sounds. I have not tried MuseScore 4, but I will look into it. Thanks.
@@SRV2013 Thanks. You're gonna love the MuseScore 4 Muse Sounds playback for sure!
And... performed before MIDI was invented.
greatest album cover!
simply cannot resist the charm of this album
I am listening to this over and over again. It has been a favorite!
The true people's music.
I love how in the Sugar Plum Fairy, the glockenspiel or xylophone or whatever it is is (mostly) perfectly on key, while all the other instruments are sharp or flat.
Honestly that's the funniest part. They do a fantastic job and for a moment you can almost forget what bands playing...then the woodwind section is violently tazed and you remember...
I owned this album when I was a teenager. I was fascinated by all things synthesizer.
In my days as a wedding DJ, I would normally opt for the soothing sounds of Kenny G for the dinner buffet. I now know know that I was sadly mistaken. This record would have been the superior choice.
Just when you think someone has a note established, they slide off of it. The "bassoons" are particularly guilty of this faux pas.
Those two dull thuds from the tympani in Beethoven's 5th set the standard for this, uh, performance...
His 3 albums with WR are the best WR albums and the peak of WR activity. He is a genius of bass.
indeed! you have fine taste!
Portsmouth Sinfonia On 33 ftw
Are you sure this is how Roxy Music started?
This was a side project of Eno's after Roxy Music started.
Fortissimo
Legendary
Cool... this one is going to torture all my musically educated friends :D would be great soundtracks to some surrealistic horror movie :D
Well, I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one that sounds like them 🤷🏻♀️
Horror, absolutly horror
The Nutcracker is amazing!!!!!
and the shift to the Fifth Symphony is so natural!
