Composer-in-residence Elaine Hagenberg and conductor Gene Peterson discuss the creation of a once-in-a-lifetime choral experience in Assisi, Italy. Singers from the U.S. and France rehearsed and performed a broad selection of Mrs. Hagenberg’s music including her masterpiece “Illuminare” in an extraordinary space dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi - putting notes to “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace” (attributed to St. Francis).
