This building was the built to be the Montgomery warehouse
Oh, is that why the governments had yo build out the projects in the 70s? Because builders were building low income housing? Zoning is a huge problem. So is greed.
i agree. The issue is that aldermen and government officials get fired if they go up zone. So they say they want affordable housing but can't because they are career politicians. The restrictions they put on developers to get an upzone just kills the project and makes it upside down

I’m surprised it looks that gorgeous being as Logan Square was such a gang infested area once upon a time not long ago. According to Google, Logan Square is now below the national average as far as crime goes. Nice to see it’s different now.
Logan Square is very trendy - lots of restaurants, local shops and great housing stock ... larger lots sizes and lots of green and great transportation all help drive values + the neighborhood - I ( Sophia) love it !

This is a lie. This has nothing to do with renters. The transfer tax is a one time fee that both buyer and seller pays when you buy or sell a property. As a matter of fact, if the property you're selling is under 1 million the tax will go down.
Richard it will affect tenants as buyers (it’s a buy side tax) will have to make up that tax in the way of increased rents. Multi units very much are in the 1M + category - the rate down on transfer tax is way less than the 300x rate up. Thank-you for your comment. Now go and vote no on the transfer tax that they love to call the mansion tax which $1 million in the city of Chicago is not a mansion by any means. It’s also on all commercial property as well.
