Just to let you know, I understand your references to the Hello Project groups, I was also very much into those groups back then. I really loved both Morning Musume and Cute, I wasn't as big of a fan for Berryz, but did enjoy some of their music. I enjoyed following Buono, when they did stuff. Here's how the video explained by takashi3099, who usually understands things very well about NiziU, and it makes since to me: The other day NiziU was explaining this MV. RIMA has a problem and has a nightmare. MIIHI, worried about RIMA, visits her room, but RIMA does not come out. She remembers their birthday party and cries. RIKU sends a message to RIMA by the pool, but there is no reply. Then RIKU herself becomes unwell and leaves the group. And yes Mayuka is really playing the piano, she's been playing since she was in elementary school. There is a video of her playing "Step and A Step" here on TH-cam. I too love the part with just the piano and their raw voices, just show how well they really can sing.

This song is a showcase of their vocalabilites, they all just blow me away with how well they sing. Even Ayaka has improved so much that she really doesn't sound out of place and is adding a voice that has sounds great. Your right, the end of the song just makes you feel like your soreing among the clouds. You ask if that's is Nina with all the ad libs at the end, and I believe that yes that is her. I want to see them preform it live to just see all the magic of putting this master piece together.

To summarise the story of this music video, Rima was having fun with her friends, but a darkness came over her heart and she stopped communicating with them, flying in the darkness. Miihi comes to visit her in her room out of concern for her, and Riku calls her, but Rima doesn't reply. Mako and Riku also clash during practice. But that is the darkness before dawn, and as a new night dawns, the golden morning sun shines down on the girls, who have come to realise their feelings for each other and love each other. That's about it.

This song is only possible because of their high vocal ability. The a cappella part was recorded in one take. This song was written and produced by the lead singer of a band called Mrs Green Apple. Motoki Ohmori is a master songwriter and lyricist, and on top of that his vocals are crazy good. You should really check out his live collaboration with NIZIU called Tenbyouno Uta (点描の唄). Then if you want more, Que Sera Sera (ケセラセラ) - both the MV and the Live from Atlantis versions are fantastic. So so many great tracks
