Merry Christmas ❤
I like her. I would love to attend her church. Sadly, the drive from Wisconsin would be a long one.
Via Media is misunderstood. It never compromises on issues of morality, truth, or creed. It was meant to say our style bridges Roman Catholic and Protestant. Today, this is twisted to mean anyone with any ideas are all welcome, and no wrong theologies or ideas will be challenged. Thus, we are not true to scripture, reason, or tradition. (The faith once delivered....)
I am grateful to have found the wonderful and meaningful community at St Mary’s. Thank you Robin!
What does she look like 😂
Helpful video!
The volume is so low on your video, I have to move on. I'll try others you've put out.
Hello! I was surprised, there was no mention of Mother Mary, Mother of God. Are you planning to cover this in another video?
This was a wonderful series. Will we get part 2?
Merci,🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for this comparison video.
Who cares I left the Episcopal Church because of their liberalism shame on them
I strive to follow Christ and I love the Gospel centered teachings at my Episcopal church. I don't care who my fellow congregants vote for.
I’m sure Jesus’ befriendment of the lowest in his community seemed pretty radical and non-conservative for his time
Same here.
Your loss.
@@archbishopnicholasacresocr429 I did the same thing and am so glad I did. I lost nothing and gained everything, like access to valid sacraments, a deeper and richer relationship with our Lord, and a spiritual patrimony of holy Catholic and orthodox teaching.
Some in The Episcopal Church uses Prima Scriptura. Scripture first, then tradition and reason.
"Experience" falls under what used to be called the Wesleyan Quadrilateral, if I'm not mistaken.
You are correct 🎉
What a treat to have Bishop Megan come!
❤you,ma'am!😊
Loving this series, TY Revs Robin and Don! ❤
Hello from Florida!
Great start, Robin. I just found this and am looking forward to listening to all of your talks on the subject. I am stounded by the Lies, Ignorance, Heresy, and self-delusion comment here without any supporting references or justification. I agree with you. Society was completely different in so many ways when scripture was written and then collected into our Bible. St, Mary's is so lucky to have you!
I would like to add a couple points of difference between the Roman Catholic and Episcopal churches - If you are divorced and remarried without an annulment, in the Catholic Church, you are not supposed to receive communion and you cannot serve in any way other than as a lay person or lay minister (e.g., you cannot become a Eucharistic minister or visiting minister) whereas in he Episcopal church everyone is allowed to receive communion - all are called to the table and all can participate in ministry at every level. Also, in terms of LGBTQ? which is openly accepted in the Episcopal church, in the Catholic church they really are not and their marriages cannot be blessed by a priest. The pope has allowed the blessing of the individuals as any individual or object is blessed, but the marriage itself is not blessed. Also, gay/lesbian sex is a sin, not because it is between queer people even if they are married but because it is sex outside of marriage as the Catholic church does not recognize lesbian or gay marriage and so it is sex outside of marriage which is sinful for every Catholic. One last thing, married people can become priests which is not allowed in the Catholic Church. Thank you for this wonderful podcast!
Anyone remember Fr. Ray Potter?
6:10-if you were baptized in a protestant church you can still receive Communion in a Catholic church if you acknowledge through formation and meeting with a priest, that you understand and agree with the dogmas set forth by Christ and passed down through apostolic succession within the Church that he founded (the Catholic Church). 10:12-the Catholic Church has always allowed the blessings of anyone regardless of sexual preference and no changes were made to the blessings of unions as you described and that have been misrepresented by many. The dignity of all people is respected by the Catholic church and homosexuals are beloved to Roman Catholics also. So much so that they are encouraged not to do something that violates biblical understanding and alienates them from Christ. I'm sorry that you have been mislead and allowed the people to recognize sin as not being sin.
Once past the age of reason, members of protestant churches needs to go through RCIA before receiving communion (ie join the Catholic Church). So they are correct on that fundamental difference. BUT I will say one thing they got slightly off at just before 2:00 is that in the Catholic Church, there is a corporate confession too during the Mass. The difference is in the Catholic Church, individual confession is required when one has mortal sin. So the corporate confession is in Catholicism too, but it is seen as only forgiving venials sins. The Episcopal church just doesn't delineate mortal/venial sins so in the episcopal church, both corporate and private confession provide the same absolution. This distinction shows why the sacrament of Confession is so important and frequently offered in Catholicism.
Thank you for these. I love these explanations just as when you explained the Book of Common Prayer. Hello from your friend in Florida.
Hello from Florida! I’ve really been enjoying these.
Awwww, the woman in this video is cute.
Thank you.
Secular Humanism has nothing to do with spirituality. Nothing deep.Just try to be a good person. Still Christians today believe and have witnessed people getting healed instantly, some including my self have prayed for individuals to be healed in Jesus name, and they were healed.
Really enjoyed this. I follow you from Orlando, Florida.
Love you two! ❤
You might want to touch on the issue of Anglican Orders.
She looks like Donna Tartt!
Sound I can barely you blessed ones
When researching whether to become Episcopal, something you can uncover but will not find promoted, is their official position on Biblical inerrancy. The Episcopal church asserts that the Bible may have errors in "what it teaches about God and God's will for human salvation" presumably because it has passed through the hands of mankind. This allows them to create doctrine as they wish since they can decide something in scripture is a mistake or something more nefarious. Ironically, their doctrine making process is by definition passing the Word of God "through the hands of mankind". You can find it in the glossary of terms on their official website, but I'll quote it here: Inerrancy, Biblical The belief that the Bible contains no errors, whether theological, moral, historical, or scientific. Sophisticated holders of this theory, however, stress that the biblical manuscripts as originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek were inerrant, but not those that are presently available. Some more conservative scholars are reluctant to speak of inerrancy, but choose to speak of biblical infallibility. They mean that the Bible is completely infallible in what it teaches about God and God's will for human salvation, but not necessarily in all its historical or scientific statements. Biblical inerrancy and infallibility are not accepted by the Episcopal Church. See Fundamentalism.
It isn’t “as we wish”. “See fundamentalism” why? So I can watch another pastor mock autistic people and yell that Jesus wore pants? No thanks.
@@frogtownroad9104 I think you don't understand my post.
What happened to Session 2? I cannot locate it on TH-cam.
This is so heretical. this is exactly why the episcopal church numbers are dropping year after year, God is not with you, you fake priest!
Repent and beleive the gospel
Hello Reverend, Could you suggest some good intro books/authors on biblical criticism?
We only call the Church here is Australia Anglican we used to call it the Church of England and because of the C of E abbreviation some people would name it as the Christmas and Easter Church inferring only Christmas and Easter attendance
Sound
I love this! Do I have to convert to Episcopal to attend Eucharist? I’m Catholic but I love that third leg of Reason!
No! Any baptized Christians can receive Communion in the Episcopal Church
@@sameash3153 I recently heard an Episcopalian priest say that they accept all of the Catholic sacraments as valid. That’s good news.
@jupiterinaries6150 Yes, Episcopal churches recognize seven sacraments. My church for instance practices confession and unction. But the catholic church does not recognize our holy orders, if that is important to you. Check the church out in my channel. Most catholics would assume it is a catholic church if they saw it. Several members here are in fact catholics.
@@sameash3153 no it’s not important to me but I think it’s unfortunate that the CC doesn’t accept them. Also what’s really been drawing me in is the homilies. I find them so practical and applicable to the issues of our time and how to bring Gods love to the world. Yes I will check out your churches channel. Thanks.
If you are Catholic, then you need to stay as far away as possible from the episcopal church, which now days, condones, promotes, and even celebrates sin, such as; murder/abortion, adultery via divorce/remarriage, and homosexuality, with many of it's clergy themselves involved in same sex relationships. Stay Catholic my friend.
This is actually the March 23rd service
Thank you for the video. Easy to follow for someone not familiar with the church.
I believe that many referred to Jesus as a radical. The Rt. Rev. Barbara Harris was in solid company.
Well said, Don!
Though I don’t live in California and don’t attend your specific church, is there any way I can give just to help? I am Episcopalian and I live in WA ❤
This female in male drag tells you what Episcopalians are about. And why they are fast on their way to vanishing.
I love how y’all say we’re vanishing but yaknow why you say it. You say it because if you push the narrative that our decrease in numbers makes us unpopular, people will stop showing. You’re funny.
@@frogtownroad9104 You make sure that "people will stop showing" all by yourselves. You don't need any one else's narrative for that.
@@polemeros Yeah except virtually every denomination is losing membership in the US
Another wonderful sermon. Thank you.
"Lift Every Voice and Sing" is one of my favorite hymns. Lift every voice and sing! Amen? 😇💯❤🙏
