Man I was just watching this and then looked at google maps and there is Nothing Left of the Housing units at Davidson Court and all of the other places that were a part of the neighborhoods all along the west gate of the base all the buildings seen in your video are gone all thats left are the streets and Grass , man thats gotta be sad for all you folks who lived there years ago! I suspect there were lots of great memories there including the ridiculous amounts of snow we still get in northern Maine!

I live here in Portsmouth now and live near Pease. It is very interesting to see what Pease looked like 40 years ago. There are so many things that simply don’t exist anymore. The base housing area is completely gone. None of the barracks exist today. None of the display aircraft are here anymore. The base cinema is gone as well. There is a visa center where the BX used to be. The weapons 36:02 storage area is now a wildlife refuge. You can walk around the old shelters but the old fence is still in position. The NCO club building is still there and is now called Paddy’s. The wing HQ building is completely gone. I will use your video to help me ID things that used to be at the base

@@CHUCKHUFFMANPRODUCT First let me say I am sorry for your lost sir. Yes the base hospital is now the Great Bay Community College. The O club is still there but the building isn’t used anymore. Along with that the building that used to be the 509 th AMS building is still there but is in bad shape. On the good side the north end of the airfield is the home of the 157 air refueling wing. It is a national guard unit. There are a couple of regional airlines that fly from here as well. The service central Florida. And the area where the F-111s used to be packed is now all private aircraft for the rich and famous LOL! If you are ever in the area, please do look me up. MSgt Bernie Burris USAF ret. 89’-10’

This is a gem. I grew up here in the 60s and 70s. Much credit to the filmmaker's foresight. For being a casual amateur filmmaker in 1984, this was an amazing achievement. However, it's too bad that we only get a blur of the buildings. Most of the footage shows road pavement ahead of the car hood. Still, it's historical and should be in an archive.

You are so welcome and it was a labor of love. There is no way at the time that I could have known that footage be so important to so many people some 35-plus years in the future. Who could have dreamed of social media where I'd be able to share it with the world? Only God knew. Thanx for the shout out.

You are so right! I was pretty much the only one who had such equipment back in the day, as it was just so darn expensive! I was blessed enough to buy it while stationed overseas where the American dollar was strong at the time. LoL as you could tell-I was like a celebrity, as this whole video thing was new to everybody. Lots of fun back then.

@@CHUCKHUFFMANPRODUCT You're not lying. I just looked up the price, looks like they started at 1500 USD back in the 80s. That was like 4000 back then.

Thank you brother and so happy you got a chance to enjoy my crazy family. It goes to show-that the Getto wasn't all bad, we did have our fun spots and there was a lot of love there. Sadly, some of the folks in the videos have gone on to be with the Lord, but at the very least, we have them immortalized in "TH-cam heaven." Thanx for sharing.

@@BryantJackson-t7b Thank you brother and I was fortunate enough to purchase that video equipment (super expensive) at the Aviano AB BX during my 3-year tour there in the USAF. Our dollar had surged against the local currency which is the only reason I was able to afford it. Something inside of me told me that all the video footage I collected back in the day would be valuable to somebody at some future date-who could have known-except for God almighty himself-that social media would exist some thirty plus years in the future! It was all a labor of love!
